Vehicles generally come back for two reasons - financing or title issues. If he already made a payment to the lienholder/finance company then the vehicle was financed but the dealer could have misrepresented the vehicle or it could have a title issue. Sounds shady either way. I would have called the finance company to see what they said before I took it back to the dealer, considering a payment had already been made. The county tag office could have also likely been a resource for information. Did he ever get the notice saying to come get his plates and registration from the tag office

Blaming the judge is BS. Parents need to work harder to make the relationship work instead of diving right in to divorce. I know, I know...it was the other person's fault. Nothing I could do...yeah yeah yeah. I'm a firm believer that if the kids are the first priority and decisions are made in their interests then much of this crap can be avoided. Relationships are tough and challenging. It takes a lot of work and commitment.
