  1. We're not paying for other commercial aircraft because we don't have a commercial airport. They take off and land 40 miles away. What Pubby stated isn't even a valid argument. It's no wonder Patti beat Pubby at the polls
  2. No, not forgetting. You're putting up a bit of a smoke screen here. At some point they determined that they were going to allocate half a million $$ for this truck with SPLOST money. They could have allocated it for other things at that time. Even if that money was allocated for fire/rescue there are better uses for it right now in fire/rescue. Nobody is saying they should moved funds from one budget to another. You've made that up.
  3. That's entirely false. The 'anti' airport group is advocating general aviation (as we voted for and were promised) and KPUJ will finally start making money as general aviation is developed. It could easily break even the first year after the hangar is complete. Propeller has said the county won't see a profit in commercial aviation for 10-20 years (if at all). Your 'PS' makes no sense as I am not advocating for commercial aviation. You have said the opposite of what I said and declared it absurd. Get your facts straight.
  4. Right now the losses for GA are not that high and can be managed by the county. It doesn't make sense to go commercial... it's basically the same financial plan as taking out a second mortgage on a home to buy lottery tickets... the odds point to losing everything yet now you have 2 mortgages to pay off or declare bankruptcy. We don't even have a hangar or a complete water system at the airport yet., so general aviation hasn't even had a chance. We've hitched our cart to Blake Swafford for nearly 10 years and he has failed us. It's time for a new airport director. Also, we don't need a
  5. Half a million in SPLOST money spent on a commercial fire/crash truck that won't be used for a very long time, if at all. That could have been a dog park, maybe a pet adoption center, or maybe another community swimming pool... something the residents could actually enjoy and use.
  6. Yep. If Propeller goes bankrupt or the discount commercial airline disappears (and it happens a lot because these companies have to close quickly to keep their costs low) from KPUJ, the taxpayers are still responsible for maintaining the airport. This could easily be an annual loss of over $2 million year after year. Propeller lists an attorney in NYC as their address, so they don't even have any assets in the US that could help us to mitigate any losses. Counties, however, have to liquidate if they must declare bankruptcy... which means the debt falls to the taxpayers of Paulding.
  7. All the arguments on here point to one solution... keep KPUJ as a general aviation airport and boot out Propeller Investments That's what the people voted for and that's what the people were promised. The airport director, Blake Swafford, has basically been underperforming and costing us millions. I will cut him some slack as there were a couple of major setbacks... the tragic hangar collapse and the tornado, but he should be working on building general aviation, not handing the airport over to an "entrepreneur" to do his work for him and take the profits. The solution is to replace the ai
  8. You need to get your facts right... I spoke with Mr. Swafford a couple of months ago about preparing a memorandum for each National Guard training activity. The problem that was encountered before was that there were no memorandums, so the National Guard did not have any airport guidelines to follow that would help them to respect the privacy of the residents and abate any noise from the training operations. I know Mr. Swafford has made some memorandums, but I am not sure if he has covered all the training that goes on at KPUJ yet. Here is the video of last PCAA meeting on May 21st. At a
  9. Like I told Jane, I'm happy to provide info, but I will leave the bickering to you.
  10. I'm happy to provide info, but I will leave the bickering to you. Like I said, message me if you want to talk to the reporter yourself and I will send you his contact info.
  11. Well, if your rules are 'proper' and 'official' and come from professors and PhDs, then who can argue with that? Hopefully, this will help you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argument_from_authority I took those photos myself. Do you think someone photoshopped the campaign banners onto it? Bless your heart.
  12. Well, even though I already explained it to you, you don't want to acknowledge it. You seem to think you have psychic powers to read my mind (and Whitey's mind) and that falsehood becomes your false 'reality'. I spent Monday afternoon, which was Memorial Day, writing my speeches. Those friends and loved ones who were killed in combat were at the very forefront of my mind. Our country sends men and women across the globe to risk their lives to establish democratic governments for other countries, but what is happening here in our very own Paulding County? The stated mission of the US in Afg
  13. Thanks. I think, if I wasn't here experiencing all this county nonsense firsthand, I would have a hard time believing it myself.
  14. I hope you realize that you are just making up your own arbitrary rules and expecting people to follow your rules. I prefer to address the people involved face to face, as I have done, but you asked for proof. Here is what I was referring to in the intro of my speech... The current District IV commissioner was up for reelection. As I went to vote early in the primary, I saw this army surplus truck parked across from the county building, across from Veterans Park. This commissioner never served in the military and the Army does not endorse candidates: The other incident I ment
  15. I stand by what I said. If you still don't understand what I said and the relationship between rights and defending those rights, and the responsibilities of self-government, then it is lost on you but it won't be any less true no matter how hard you want it to be or how hard you try to diminish it. Hopefully, this will help you... The motto of the Army is "This We'll Defend". Here is a description of it's meaning by General Odeirno: At the top of the official Department of the Army emblem are the words, “This We’ll Defend.” This is the official Armymotto. As we get ready to celeb
