Blink and Arlo are both great systems... The video quality is HD and you have audio as well. Both are wireless and you can install yourself. You get notifications and videos sent directly to your phone and they are stored on the cloud. Frankly the quality of the video is much better than a professional system (wired/dvr) I had installed at our office and much simplier to access and use. - Jamie

The puritans are turning over in their graves

I think it great news...I've heard of some horror stories dealing with botched circumcisions that can now be set right. The majority of religions, I would think, would accept such a procedure as good. I can see a few that would object. I mean the Jehovah's continue to object to blood transfusions... - Jamie -
My response was to the idea of bringing guns into the classroom. I've asked what your idea is to save all the children and all I got was more questions. - Jamie

And as I said, even with the numbers being inflated with accidental discharges, after hours fights on school property, a bullet fired from bubba's backyard and lands in the school parking lot...Its still a rare occurrence that a child is shot. - Jamie

I don't think so.... In reality it's two different discussion. With respect to this discussion, Its an emotional knee jerk response. Never let a good crisis go to waste is great for politics, but it will create an emotionally driven and poorly thought out policy. I believe the consequences are potentially worse than the problem, so I don't think its wise. Think about it.... Gun crime and violent crime in general is trending downward School shootings are an extremely rare occurrence even when we try to inflate the numbers - Jamie

AND bigfoot could in fact exist..... - Jamie -
Outside of holding those who are negligent responsible (gun owners and government agencies), educating teachers and students about warning signs, and pushing changes in mental health...I wouldn't touch a damn thing. Why, because I believe Cain is right (WTH, right?). Its not a left wing talking point, its a fact. If more firearms are brought into close proximity to children, then the risk of something happening as a result goes up tremendously. Normally I would side with personal responsibility and training as being sufficient in dealing with accidental crap, but with children we should

https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2018/apr/9/gun-control-londons-muslim-mayor-sadiq-khan-bans-k/ Interesting to say the least. Other stories that I have read suggest that the UK vs. US violence statistics aren't apples to oranges either...Implying that the rate is much higher in the UK than what we report here in the states for obvious reasons.... Another interesting headline.. https://www.wsj.com/articles/murder-rate-in-london-rivals-that-of-new-york-1523039533 - Jamie

Political newcomer faces questions about past social media post.
Jamie Weaver replied to billh's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I would wager that if you're anywhere on social media or a discussion board like this, there is something, somewhere, that is going to be used against you in the political arena. Its just part of the game. Now is it overwhelming important to the debate or positions, it depends, but in this case, no. Does it speak to one's character, perhaps, but it can also just be a dumb statement made on the internet that will never go away. We can forgive men for there past indiscretions, but were pretty damn pissy over off the cuff statements. If I was in the district, I would just take it with a grai -
Rich and snooty, not by any means. I thought I sounded like a good little Hillary democrat. I'm simply taking the liberal elitist approach to discussing the impact on the Second Amendment rights of the poor and less fortunate. To ignore the fact that these folks are going to be disproportionately impacted while we place their rights in the forefront of every other argument is hypocritical. It implies that much like the "children" they are nothing more than a tool for the agenda. - Jamie

I'm a little confused by your sarcasm. Your point being? Your second point.... The NRA insurance you are referring to.... does it replace firearm(s) in case of a loss or does it protect the owner against negligence/wrongful death? One is important to the conversation, one is not. - Jamie
-
I need a better understanding of what the insurance is to cover. My homeowners policy and typically any umbrella policy covers lawsuits for negligence/wrongful death. Now I understand that renters wouldn't necessarily have such a policy, but they are also more than likely to be victims of crimes. With that said, I'm not sure if ethically you should apply restraints on the less fortunate. - Jamie

AND....It would disproportionately impact people of color, which would be racism according to those advocating equality of outcome. - Jamie

A cultural change regarding violence is completely necessary. You ask how many more children will be sacrificed, but clarification is needed. What changes are being offered to stop children from dying? Should those who make such weapons available be subject to any form of accountability? Accountability should follow where direct responsibility or negligence can be proven. For example, gun manufacturers and the tobacco industry's liability to consumers is apples to oranges. If an assault weapon is left unsecured and is used illegally, should the owner be held liable? I will proba

I believe that the first step is for those in the discussion to avoid running directly to their respective political corners and realize that this issue affects us all. Changing culture isn't as difficult as it seems. It is literally happening everyday right in front of you. Education and media is typically the best driver of cultural/social changes. They have been primary weapon in our culture war for as long as there has been public education. It doesn't change overnight. (For example, Views on homosexuals) With respect to marriage, simply stop glorifying and incentivizing single

A glib and substance free statement.....Profiling would be shortsighted considering white men make up the majority of the population. Are white males disproportionately committing mass murder compared to any other identity group? I wouldn't just assume, because it fits your agenda. I would take a look. - Jamie

Don't just pick and choose your history. Russia went to war with Georgia in 2008 and that's what started the destabilization we see now in Europe. BTW.. Our response (good will gesture) was to scrap the missile defense plans for Poland and Czech. - Jamie

no evidence of collusion between Trump, Russia

Frankly, I don't care whether they used the data or not. The data still remains to be the same data provided to Obama. If you want to cite FaceBook as evil, then by all means. They sold you and anyone else who is using their product for free to whoever wants to purchase it. With that said, Parscale was behind Trumps campaign/marketing strategy. He has stated they did not use CA data, but did use their analytics on RNC data. https://www.wired.com/story/what-did-cambridge-analytica-really-do-for-trumps-campaign/ I've also read where the Cruz campaign stopped using the CA
