  1. I would support a program to move people out of the county. Quality of life should not be measured by your tax bill or pocketbook. Tax rates could go down if we were not supporting all these school needs brought on by higher population. Most of the main roads are state maintained anyway and I won't even try to act like police and fire are up to par regardless of tax rates. We do have an empty airport in the middle of the woods though. I am a small businessman and I personally see no advantage to more people. JMO.

  2. We went to church with Jessie at Dallas Church of God in the late 80's early 90's. We even visited her at Grady during one of her episodes. We have broken bread with her numerous times and she blessed us with her friendship. I have seen the holy ghost power of the lord all over this woman. She was mentally ill, poor and far from perfect but full of love for the lord and people. I do not know her from standing on the road with her tambourine. I was lucky enough to know her much better. She knew all my wife's family and myself by name. You are right don't judge so that you be not judged.

  3. Braves game was a nail biter very exciting ending. Hopefully the mojo will carry on today. Falcons are awful, have always been awful. King Arthur says he is not even considering a coaching change. Have not gotten into Atlanta United yet even though I played varsity high school and rec soccer. They seem to be a winning franchise so good luck to them. Go Braves, Go Dawgs, Go Atlanta United, whatever Falcons.

  4. My favorite cousin succumbed to liver cancer last Friday night. He was a good man. Honorable, funny, hard working, honest, family man, married fifty years and Marine Class of 69 Vietnam. I can honestly and proudly say I never knew anyone who had anything bad to say about him. He was a hero of mine and I will miss him dearly. Please pray for his wife, mother and son they are lost without him. Semper Fi Cuz.

  5. Yep saw and heard. Must be the weekend warriors burning fuel. Looked like three low flying Blackhawks. Of course the pro airport bunch want this and much more everyday. Especially the ones not effected by it. They do fly low and they are loud. If you complain they will say they filed a flight plan over the least populated areas they could. They could fly a little higher this is not Mosul.

  6. I voted today at the courthouse. There was a decent crowd around 10:00 with a short wait for a machine. Which ever party/affiliation/platform you vote for please vote. If you don't you have no right to bitch. You may want to look at a sample ballot there were some issues/amendments on the end of the ballot that I was not aware of.

  7. Maybe I’m missing it but I don’t see where any political party is mentioned in the OP article. The OP post yes, but not the article.

    BTW we are both right.

OK RM if I knew I was being graded I would have said post instead of article. My point is still 100% correct. Please don't nit pick so much it really seems like misdirection from the subject. Thanks for your input and yes I know a lot of liberals who donate/contribute to environmental causes it was not my intent to exclude them from my original post. Now can we be friends again?

CC I was not offended but there are two sides and the environment is very important to me. It is a very important subject and should not be taken likely. Please understand that conservatives don't eat their young (not always) and care very much about the planet also. At least the ones I know do.

  8. My point RM is a push back on the wide spread liberal assumption that all conservatives cut down trees, drive gas guzzlers, hate wildlife, pollute streams and generally hate the planet which was the implication of the OP article. The very title implies conservatives hate the environment and the first post claims the same about Republicans. I was merely responding to a thread that was political by nature if you will read the topic and first post. I never stated liberals contribute or don't I merely said I know personally many conservatives that do including myself. You do realize the whole thread is a troll right? My bad for thinking I could state facts that are 100% accurate.

  9. Speaking for myself and most of my friends we identify as conservatives not Republicans. I know free thinking is an abstract to most party following sheep but it does exist. I will put our contributions to environmentalism both financially and hands on up against any party line liberal on this site or any other. Through contributions to River Keeper, Ducks Unlimited, fishing/hunting license in multiple states, Boy Scouts, NRA, state park fees, federal duck stamps, boat registrations, launch fees and volunteer clean up days at public areas are some of what we contribute to. The difference is we actually put our time and money towards causes instead of running our pie holes and sitting behind a key board bitching. It may surprise some of you that I believe in climate change and think that to some degree man has contributed to it. I think the climate has changed since the formation of the planet but agree mankind has been a poor keeper of the planet. None of this changes my conservative views on practically any given issue. My views on pro life/pro choice would probably surprise all of you but that is another subject. I will say it is not finite either way.

  10. I am a NRA member I don't think the organization will go broke tomorrow. The main reason I belong is to assure the 2nd amendment rights of all citizens are protected. I am also a member of Georgia Right to Bear Arms. While I do not agree on every talking point the NRA presents they are a very powerful lobby. The uber left are using back handed frivolous lawsuits in liberal court jurisdictions because they cannot present a logical fact based campaign to strip citizens of their rights. When a conservative challenges, lets say, immigration policy they are labeled haters/bigots/racist/narrow minded, etc. When a liberal challenges a constitutional right they are labeled a hero. Congratulations to the patriot president elect Lt. Col. Oliver North on his new position as president of the NRA.

  11. While I have nothing against solar power. In fact I have made pretty good money off of solar sites from time to time. There are still drawbacks to solar at this time. The footprint for 676 MW is roughly 3400 acres so you are talking about rural areas and often the consumption of farm lands to allow for all the arrays required. The biggest issue is power storage or battery technology. While storage has gotten better and will continue to improve the technology is not there yet and won't be in the near future. Storage currently adds to the footprint by about two acres per MW so add 1350 acres plus major dollars to the original figure if storage is installed. The output of a solar farm drops considerably on a partly cloudy day and drops to zero on an overcast day or at night. The manufacturers will tell you otherwise concerning cloud cover but I have metered it personally and the output drops to zero under light overcast skies. I am all for alternative energy but solar, hydro, wind and wave all have limited/regional capabilities at this time. Personally nuclear is the way to go at this time. By the way Georgia EMC's have some of the lowest rates per kwh of any providers in the nation. One of the concerns from utilities is the possibility of back feeding circuits under upgrade and repair conditions. This can be very dangerous to line crews when generation is controlled by third parties.

  12. This is off subject but I think this thread is a good example of most all threads on here. Apparently every damn thing about this country sucks if you are a liberal. We should not be a sovereign nation with immigration laws. The justice system sucks. LEO suck. POTUS sucks. SCOTUS sucks. Conservatives suck. Child services suck. Corporations suck. Free enterprise sucks. Religion sucks. Heterosexuals suck. White men suck. Southerners suck. Morality sucks. Environment sucks. Daylight savings time sucks. Fossil fuels suck. Traffic sucks. Patriotism sucks. Military sucks. You must really be some miserable ass people if this is the way you see the world. If this country sucks so bad get the hell out I for one will not miss you.

By the way not one child has been "jerked" from any ones arms. They are probably truly safe and well fed for the first time in their lives. Do you want these children to be housed with adults some of who are sex offenders? I do believe the children should be reunited with family after the vetting process has been completed. Whether that means asylum in this country or deportation back to their country. There is a process to accomplish this but it takes time.

  13. I have known Brother Wayne since the early 90's. He and his family are salt of the earth good people. I knew his father, mother and whole family from Crossroads FG Church. Wayne had a huge giving heart and has helped many families over the years. He always visited the sick and elderly. He was a man of God and practiced what others sometimes only preach. My prayers are with Brenda, Tim and Waymon at this time of loss. No doubt Heaven has gained another angel.
