  1. I love how the liberals jump straight to their trusty keywords like Koch Brothers, Katrina, and Nazis when they run into a wall with their arguments. (And before I get accused of being a conservative, the right wing whackos also have their handy list of keywords when faced with logic, too.)
  2. I agree! It's painful watching that show, because they seem like such nice people and they REALLY want to believe, but they never come up with a single scrap of real evidence. Nobody has ever found a body, or a den, or feces, nothing. Yet Bobo and his buddies constantly spout their speculative theories as fact. They see a tree branch slightly askew and say "Squatches often position tree limbs this way in order to communicate with each other, or perhaps to warn humans to stay away." Really, Bobo? I think maybe it was just the wind, but you are so darned determined and enthusiastic, I don't
  3. I also use dolphin. So there is a way to install flash using dolphin? That is the one thing that really bugs me about my KFHD, that I can't watch a lot of videos because it doesn't support flash player.
  4. So to those who believe humans are responsible for climate change, who was at fault before humans were even on this earth, much less their evil SUVs? Because climate has been in cycles of change since the earth was formed. Maybe if the dinosaurs had thought of the carbon credit scheme, they would still be around?
  5. Not trying to be snarky, but why fundraising? Why not just a job?
  6. Dang, I need to be on a reality show if it means I can afford a house like that. Seriously, how hard can it be?
  7. So glad to hear he is okay, TabbyCat. Thank you so much for updating us. Hugs to you and yours.
  8. We have had memory foam for a few years and I love it. I never thought it was too warm, but then I like to be cold at night so I keep the room itself quite cold. No smell ever. It took a few days to get used to because it is so firm, but it's very comfortable. I highly recommend it. I think we have the Serta or Sealy brand, not the actual Temperpedic brand.
  9. Since when are tweets considered a representative sample in a scientific study? Perhaps those who are TRULY the happiest don't feel the need to tweet it to the world. Perhaps they are too busy enjoying life. God I hope our tax dollars didn't fund this "study".
  10. Class also means being able to differentiate between a stranger in a news story and one's own child, as well as not getting offended because these two share one trait in common. Seriously, someone that hyper sensitive would probably better off staying away from any online forum.
  11. This is great advice. Get his name and picture out there as much as you possibly can. It sounds like a lot of people who have responded to this thread have a lot of contacts all over. Imagine multiplying that by hundreds or even thousands if you just get his name and picture circulated. I have only been in Paulding a short time but I can already tell the people here (both on this forum as well as the county at large) would help anyone in your circumstances. Put us to work, I'll bet that you will find most of us will drop almost anything to help you. Please be strong, take care of yourself
  12. Initial story was he thought she was an intruder. Interestingly the police said that theory did NOT come from them and they were still investigating. Yet the South Africa Olympic committee immediately released a statement saying something like, "At this time we have no details, all we know is he shot her thinking she was an intruder." Really, Olympic Committee? Way to report rumor as fact. So have any more details come out? It's apparently a very violent place to live, and he had several guns in his house for protection. The intruder story is certainly plausible, though he apparently h
  13. That is very creepy, and I don't get creeped out easily.
  14. No, not really. The tradition of giving at Christmas has been around a lot longer than the relatively recent tradition of showering people with gifts at VD, and it makes sense in the context of the history of Christmas. I don't remember and I'm too lazy to look it up, but I thought VD was supposed to be about some Catholic saint, maybe the patron saint of love? Not sure. It seems the gift giving portion of the holiday is fairly recent, spurred on by marketing, not from a sense of having the "Valentine spirit". But seriously, this is just my opinion. I am not all hung up on it and don't
  15. I don't, for the same reason. If I want to get a special present for a friend or loved one, I don't wait for some special date on the calendar that the retailers have told me is the right time to do so. Seriously, I don't care what others do, I'm not judging. In fact it's sort of cute at times. It's just not for me.
  16. You're right. I'm sure that's what it has become. Retailers nowadays will create any excuse to get people to part with their money. Me personally, I don't need a special day to let my kids know I love them. But then that's just me, I guess.
  17. Considering they're not my boyfriend or girlfriend, they're my KIDS, I don't give them anything for Valentine's Day.
  18. If the owner formally initiates the short sale process, that is supposed to suspend the foreclosure pending the outcome of the short sale. Of course, that means trusting the mortgage company. Also, why does she want your friend out? Is she going to move in? There are disadvantages to having an empty house during the short sale process. For example, she may qualify for HAFA which will give her an additional $3k cash after the sale, but only if the house is occupied (not sure if it needs to be occupied by the actual owner or not). Note, I'm not a realtor but I've looked into this for so
  19. I love how Obama apologists boldly proclaim that the terrible economy is now the "new normal" when all their other arguments have failed.
  20. Is it a news site, or a forum like this one?
  21. Best in show: Affenpinscher Second place: Old English Sheepdog
  22. Final seven: Hound: American Foxhound Toy: Affenpinscher Non sporting: Bichon Frise Herding: Old English Sheep Dog Sporting: German Wirehaired Pointer Working: Portuguese Water Dog Terrier: Smooth Fox Terrier What is your breed? I wouldn't be surprised if they were rigged. It's all subjective. And yes, Crufts is more prestigious. But this is always so fun to watch every year.
  23. Breakdown of groups that have won best in show: 45 Terrier 19 Sporting 15 Working 10 Non sporting 10 Toy 5 Hound 1 Herding Fifi was incredible. She was my husband's pick too.
