  1. Indy 500 is with open wheel cars. Nascar is with 'stock' cars that look somewhat like the cars you can buy at dealerships. The biggest race of the year for Nascar is the Daytona 500 which is the first race of the year. Go to Youtube and search for both and you'll see the difference.
  2. University of Rhode Island TickEncounter Resource Center
  3. Do a Google image search for Atari Breakout. Have fun!
  4. I tried that with a laptop one time. It worked great afterwards... ....as a doorstop.
  5. Will it boot up in safe mode?
  6. Are you deliberately ignorant of the facts?
  7. I went to the Hiram Walmart last week for the first time in at least 5 years and I definitely feel stupider now than I did before.
  8. I agree 100%. Darn, I was thinking you were going to post that it should be legal to shoot homosexuals. That would have made for an interesting (but stupid) thread.
  9. Cobb was open today but there was a long wait. I love this new law. The ad valorem would have been over $550 but was only $67 with the new tax. :yahoo:
  10. The primary reason for seeking assistance is to protect as much of her assets as possible which I doubt the DCH is interested in. Thanks. Thanks for the info.
  11. I'm trying to help a family member apply for Medicaid and am in need of help. From the research I've done already and due to various questions she has, I think she would benefit from legal assistance (attorney) or help from someone well versed in the process. Is anyone aware of any local resources (attorneys or otherwise) that provide this service? Any idea what going through an attorney would cost? I think her application will be pretty simple once a few questions are out of the way. Thanks in advance!
  12. I was about to go. I'm in Cobb. Is the furlough thing a state or county thing?
  13. Thanks everyone. I think I got it figured out now. Off to the tag office I go...
  14. I've googled for this but can't seem to find a definite answer. What is the process to opt-in for the new title tax instead of paying ad valorem? I bought a car on 12/31/12 so I know I can opt-in and I believe that doing so will save me $$$ but what exactly is the process? Do I just take my bill of sale to the tag office when I renew and they calculate the tax amount on the spot? Disclaimer: yes, I could just call them and ask but where is the fun in that? :-)
  15. Exactly. That is why I think we should allow trained teachers to arm themselves.
  16. The theoretical speed is double but in real life the max isn't that much of a concern for internet access. The N150 is rated at 150 which is faster than any home internet service anyway.
  17. Yes and no. For most people that do mainly basic web surfing you probably won't notice the difference in the actual supported speeds. However, the N150 has 1 less antenna so it may be a connection quality problem. Are you getting a strong signal?
  18. And police officers in Newtown, CT carry guns. Little help that did for the people that were killed at Sandy Hook.
  19. Do you think you should be subject to a background check if you buy a gun from an individual such as a family member?
  20. Another...any verifiably non-handicapped person parking in a handicapped spot should immediately be shot. OK, maybe getting shot is a little extreme. But at the very least they should lose their driver's license for life.
  21. Who said anything about living in fear? Exercising my constitutional rights doesn't equate to living in fear. The great thing about this country is you are free to exercise your rights or not.
  22. It wasn't meant as an insult. It was meant as a general statement that you are ignoring certain realities in life. The link I provided is just one example of an armed citizen (perhaps a paranoid citizen) that certainly saved lives or at least prevented others from getting stabbed.
  23. I didn't say teachers should be 'expected to carry'. I said 'allowed'. In high school, my economics teacher was a former Atlanta cop who had recently retired and started teaching. Would you be opposed to him carrying a gun at school? There are nut jobs everywhere. That is just one instance where a law abiding citizen with a gun stopped a mad man in a grocery store. This could happen here as well. You are welcome to stick your head in the sand if you'd like. I prefer to be prepared for such nut jobs.
  24. Why not allow trained teachers to carry? Why not allow them the option to protect themselves? Why not allow them to protect the children? I just can't fathom the mindset that believes allowing people to protect themselves is wrong. How about this guy in Utah that was carrying in a grocery store? GUN CARRYING MAN ENDS STABBING SPREE AT SALT LAKE GROCERY STORE What if you were one of the people stabbed by the crazy guy before police arrived? Promoting responsible gun ownership: 1. Education - starting early with kids 2. Laws - stop trying to pass more laws that only law abid
  25. Why not allow teachers that have proper training to protect themselves and possibly the lives of children? Would you rather children get shot and killed? I don't go to Walmart to shoot either. I don't go home to shoot people either. Common sense dictates that if you are determined to do a mass shooting that you do it at a location that you know to be a gun free zone. Promoting responsible gun ownership...for starters, stop trying to pass laws that will do nothing to minimize the crazies and criminals but makes it harder for law abiding citizens to properly protect themselves
