Airport discussed at Tuesday's commission meeting
tundra replied to gpatt0n's topic in Fastread page
The fall out is not from the lawsuit, it's from not doing the proper studies to begin with. I swear some people think Paulding citizens are really stupid. The lawsuit was filed and the settlement reached because they didn't do what they were supposed to. Thank goodness more citizens are paying attention. Thank you John Hyden!! -
Wait, the school system said Winter Break in February would be make up days. Now last I checked we rarely get snow in December so snow days in January are sort of predictable. The calendar specifically said it would be that week. Someone in the central office must have big plans, I'm with WAFL, they are making stuff up as they go along. Not real happy with what they are doing and I don't even have a kid in the school system.

I still use Paulding Networking for all my computer stuff. They are in the Publix Shopping Center on East Paulding Drive.

When the school calendar was published parents were told any snow days would likely be made up during winter break. Knowing that, why would anyone make expensive plans for that week? I do believe the school system made a bad call not releasing the kids earlier, my heart goes out to those poor bus drivers and parents that could not get to their children. What's done is done, the only problem I have now is someone at the admin level blaming others for their bad decision. Admit it, know it can happen again and move forward. Don't blame others for your failings. If you make big pla

Just got back in, the roads on the West side are still pretty bad, even 101. It's melting but I don't think it will dry enough to keep it from being ice again in the morning. Woodrow Kay Road is still covered in packed snow.

Watching this forum yesterday was telling...........

I gotcha, corporate profits, bad, politicians elected to office suddenly get rich, good. Personally I think people that own companies should benefit from the risks they take daily and most of those politicians aren't running for office based on the pay scale. -
This meeting has been postponed. Stay tuned for new date.
-
Any way we can combine the three threads about this?

Road conditions this morning-list if you know

I heard Macland Road has been salted and traffic is moving. Can't confirm positively but heard that from someone that lives on Macland. -
Wasn't there something about the FAA at the meeting this morning? I thought for sure CPR would share it here.
-
Where is Hiram police? Where r the traffic directors? This is BAD

Juliesmom, there are more wrecks than we have police officers, some of them are life threatening. Some kids cannot get home from school and their parents can't get to them. I think there are sometimes more important things for police officers to do than direct traffic. So how about you think of others, too. -
I'm in the middle of nowhere but if you need something near Woodrow Kay and Holly Springs Road I'm here.

Turned around in Rockmart and came back home to Yorkville, the streets are already covered with a thin layer of snow and they are starting to get slick. 19° here.
-
We will have some with us at the Community Meeting on the 30th (Thursday). Or you can PM me for info.
-
The roads in Yorkville are completely covered with a fine layer of snow. They are getting very slick. It's 19 degrees.
-
CPR, can we count you in as a spectator?
-
LMBO!! Please CPR keep your day job, you're not very good at this one.

I won't be able to make this meeting, but I feel confident there will be video. Thanks for stepping up to speak Mojo413!!

Great story surepip! I've been voluntold many many times since moving to Paulding County.
-
And three other airports much closer. Who's selling this stuff? I want to get in on the deal since everyone's buying it.
-
Oh and don't forget we have Mc Collum Field for charter flights and PDK as well. http://portal.cobbcountyga.gov/index.php?option=com_content&id=511&Itemid=505 http://web.co.dekalb.ga.us/pdkairport/index.asp So if you are going to charter a flight to get to Emmerson, would you go to Yorkville?
-
If you say so. Buses and planes are different things. Do you realize how far that airport is from Lake Point? What's in between? Nothing, absolutely nothing. When they are not playing sports kids want to do other fun stuff. There isn't even a put-put course in Paulding County, Stars and Strikes is the closest thing we have to kids fun. Do you realize how far Stars and Strikes is from Emmerson? When was the last time you went to Yorkville or Rockmart for anything? It's in the opposite direction of the good stuff. Kennesaw/Town Center is much closer than Paulding, they already have "stu

I don't look at today as a win for the county at all. The subcontractors had to be paid, plain and simple. There was NO determination as to whether the loan met the legal parameters. This judge did not say go ahead and give them more, he cautioned them about the IBA lending the AA money again. Today's hearing was to see if there was enough evidence to move this forward, a win for the county would have meant dismissal of the suit with no basis. That did NOT happen. Glad to see you're keeping score. Too bad you think it's a good thing for citizens not to have a right to redress

I was extremely surprised how the Super 6 were degraded for exercising their Constitutional Right to ensure the law has been followed and the citizens of the county should be heard. No this is not a class action law suit, but perhaps it could be.
