Come on, there are several people that live in Paulding with this experience. You probably don't know any but I do. Bring in someone with experience, they can certainly move to the area. People do that all the time.

I think with Paulding Economic Development and since the Chamber gets so much tax money, we will be fine if the IBA was shut down. It's not as though we don't have other economic engines. Three different entities and still not ONE tenant at the industrial park in our General Aviation airport. Face it, in 50+ years the IBA hasn't brought much industry here. Gosh though, it will be one less paycheck for Blake Swafford. Why does anyone believe you can make a successful commercial airport out of a failed General Aviation airport? Keep in mind, the people we have contracted with haven't sp

I will say again, while I may not agree with everyone all the time or how they deliver their message, I stand firm in their right to do so. I also commend the commissioners for letting her speak in her way. Same goes for the posters here and on Facebook. It matters not if you support the commercialization of the airport or oppose it. This meeting was not about anyone, but about what our commissioners are doing.

See, therein lies the difference. How you would choose to handle it and how she chooses to handle it are certainly both okay. I hesitate to believe you would just up and sell something at a huge loss without at least trying to find another way. Life savings and life's work isn't easy to walk away from. Everyone handles situations differently, she has just as much right to do it the way she sees fit as you do. Not everyone, even on this board has always behaved rationally. This is a very personal issue for those living close to the airport.

Everyone has a right to free speech. Patti Smith is an island to herself. She has every right via the first amendment to express her opinion in the way she sees fit. I do appreciate Chairman Austin and the rest of the commissioners allowing her to exercise that right. While you may not agree with what she says or maybe even how she says it, please do not infringe on her first amendment rights. Not everyone's behavior is always acceptable by the general population. I can think of a few here that have taken the same stance in support of the airport. Those that live in glass h

For your viewing pleasure.

I was sort of thinking along the lines of some citizens committees, but what do I know. I'm just a voter, doing my best to become as informed as I can. Since there are only 7 Industrial Building Authorities in the state, I'm thinking it's time Paulding quit living 50 years in the past and come up to speed with most of Georgia. Not trying to further expand the powers of the authority. Perhaps this may be the real reason there is no industry in Paulding County. These antics are reminiscent of my days in Chicago watching the well oiled Daley Machine.

Hoping Whitey will check in soon. Heard the meeting was interesting, didn't make this one. Sorry I missed it.

There are only three elected officials on the IBA and the Airport Authority. David Austin, Doris Devey (Mayor of Hiram) and Boyd Austin (Mayor of Dallas). I did not elect the IBA or the PCAA. These people are making decisions for all of us.
-
Thank you. You bring legitimacy to what we are saying. Yes, the antiquated IBA needs to be looked at, especially since we now have Paulding Economic Development. The IBA itself should be eliminated.

Better stop!! You're confusing them with simplicity. They are starting to twist around and shout in pain. LOL

This is the request to have the General Assembly change it through legislation. The bill will be introduced tomorrow by Howard Maxwell.

Bring on the industry, bring on the jobs, leave the commercial flights at Hartsfield Jackson International Airport where they belong and quit spending taxpayer money like it's monopoly money.

Here is the resolution they will be voting on. The one Whitey hopes to convince them they shouldn't be considering this with litigation pending in the court. Like News Junky, I am saddened by this. I guess those people at the end of the runway, next to the runway and in the school less than 1/2 mile from the runway really don't matter. This airport has taken priority over families. RESOLUTION NO.: 14-05 SUPPORTING THE INTRODUCTION OF LOCAL LEGISLATION TO FURTHER DEFINE AND PRESCRIBE THE POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE PAULDING COUNTY INDUSTRIAL BUILDING AUTHORITY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

Yes, why yes there is. It is an election year for three commissioners and several state reps.
-

Proper planning would have ensured funding WAS IN PLACE BEFORE construction began.
-
But they don't even have to use the taxiway, they can backtaxi on the runway. It's safe, done often and not a big deal. Yes any problems they claim is because of poor planning and going forward without funding in place. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backtaxi

The commissioners voted 4-1 to give the AA 2.9 million dollars for a safety issue that was not existent. Last I checked David Austin sits on the PCAA board, do you not think this non-safety issue was discussed? Seriously people, pay attention.
-

I just put it in the crock pot, put salt and pepper on it, fill it with water and that's it. It's so good.
-

Red Herring, Fairy Tale. There is/was no safety issue with that taxiway. Pay attention folks.
-
I want to say THANK YOU to Whitey, Mojo, Radiohead, and many, many others. Because of your efforts and support, the citizens are now allowed three speakers at the PCAA and IBA meetings. They get up to 5 minutes each. This was a long time coming. Progress, slow and steady but progress none the less.

A group of citizens were at the capital today to announce the launch of a new watchdog group. You can go to the Georgia News tab and read recent articles regarding the Airport. http://georgiawatchdogs.com/

I actually had many conversations like this in the 70s and I thought they were much more than idiots. Oh, but for the people that live in the Chicago area and their grandiose schemes.
