I see the issues are different for different people. I however am aligned with most of what surepip has to say. If anyone continues to believe it's only a couple flights a day/week, I think they need to get their eye glasses changed. The IBA and AA have entirely too much power over taxpayers and the BOC, it's not just the airport I have issues with regarding those "authorities". These are the friends and campaign contributors of our elected officials, we have to keep them busy to ensure the cash flow. It's definitely not right, this needs to change. A county of this size s

No discussion about the BOC creating a citizen oversight committee

Pubby, are you serious? While I completely understand how difficult it is to raise a disabled child, implying Patti or Winston don't have compassion for your situation or anyone else is bizarre. Winston was only pointing out that while we all have trials and tribulations, others do indeed have it worse. So yes, Patti does have compassion and she's had to "grin and bear it" for years. She's doing exactly what she thinks is the most effective way to "make a real change". -

Let me tell you a story about this place. I was here in the beginning, I brought lots of people to this board. Even brought in people that bought ads. It used to be fun but people's constant b*tching has driven off most of the good posters. What's mostly left is a bunch of negative nellies that have nothing better to do than call their neighbors names and do everything they can to call them out because they have their panties in a wad all the time. The negativity of this board keeps people, including advertisers away. It's the only message board that members require I pay to expres -

You know what Mrs. Howard? There are some people that are so convinced government is the answer to all their problems becoming enslaved to Washington looks attractive to them. I appreciate you and others trying to show people how ridiculous Obamacare is, some people refuse to admit the fallout far outweighs the benefit. It only matters if "they" get what "they" want at the moment. “Selfishness is not living as one wishes to live, it is asking others to live as one wishes to live.” ― Oscar Wilde- 230 replies

I live 6 miles from the airport, there isn't a subdivision on my gravel road. Pubby, you're slipping and s---t---r---e--t--c---h---i--n--g, the truth a little aren't ya? See I live in Yorkville and know there are folks in Jones mill that can see the airport. Before you get to Jones Mill there is Oakview. Wanna know the funniest part? Pubby's house is right in the flight path, good thing he doesn't have a problem with 737s. -

Would anyone know where I could find some Tiger Oak?

He was in the main area over by Olive Tree. My husband handled it and he can't remember his name either, it **might** be Alan Pelethe. He did an awesome job!! -

You should have seen them before, they sat in a garage for about 30 years then on my porch for about two more. They were in pieces. He even used the original springs but couldn't save the hay that was originally in there. lol -

HugesNet may be the only option. Problem is they limit data and if you go over, they just shut you down for 24 hours. Didn't work so well for our business and it was extremely slow. That was about 5 or 6 years ago, they may have improved. You might want to check with comcast since you are a "business". They sometimes make exceptions for them, perhaps you could pay for part of the line run.

You might try this place. They are in Kennesaw. http://atlantaspecialtywoods.com/ There was a place in Hiram that restored a 200 year old rocker and love seat for us. Don't remember the name but his work was beautiful Hang on, I think I have a pic. Here's the rocker and love seat. -

If revenues are insufficient, our taxes go up. By up to 2 mills. Looks like we might be seeing a millage rate increase soon as the movie studio is not sustaining itself. The first contract in a few years is for a "couple of months" for a pilot. I'm with Whitey, these authorities need to be eliminated or so limited they can't override the BOC. Sadly the appointments will come from the very people that are the problem. Does anyone think they won't have the same thoughts as the person that appoints them? Yea, me neither. -

Well, I'm glad you got your tests done, finally!! I'm also glad Miss Daisy is fine. That sounds scary!! -
Luckily I filled up in September ($1.79) and again in December, before the shortage at $1.99. We have a 275 gallon tank. I found moving the thermostat down two degrees during the day and at night has saved us an entire fill up over the winter. Being so cold, we got another 100 gallons in late Feb at $2.65 per gallon. That should last the rest of the winter. 63° at night is not cold, it's cool. Just an extra blanket and a robe when I get up takes care of the two degree difference. I leave the thermostat at 68 during the day when we are home. When I leave for work, I turn it back down

Paying for asphalt top coating in unfinished subdivisions ?
tundra replied to surepip's topic in Paulding County NEWS
I'm not defending anyone!! I'm talking about the useless cost of unenforceable bonds. Funny how it's OK with you the bonds of the builder buddies didn't pay up. -
I got it from Gas, Inc about a month ago for $2.65. Not sure where they are now.

The Republican state senator who endorsed Federal Medicaid
tundra replied to LPPT's topic in RECENT TOPICS
If everyone paid for their healthcare and a percentage went into a fund to help those that can't, we'd be in a whole lot better situation. Each state should have their own healthcare program. This should not be a federal program. Federal programs have a tendency to be abused because they lack oversight. Get rid of insurance all together and let the market regulate itself. If necessary states should be able to have control, if you don't like that state's healthcare system, you can always move to one that fits your needs and wants.- 230 replies
