I know many hard working, honest real estate attorneys. I think painting anyone with a broad brush is a bit of overkill. I will agree there can be corruption anywhere and every where, in many professions. But not everyone!

People are inherently generous! Thank you for being so giving! They give of themselves often, many times people come to expect it to be given and do take advantage. If I know you need help, I'll help but...............there comes a time adults need to behave like responsible adults.

I agree 100%, I've been saying this for months. I have learned things I didn't want to know. I often have to check my surroundings and see if I'm still in Paulding County or back in Chicago.

Now, now remember Whitey, it was "counsel's" idea to send the legislative changes to Howard Maxwell last year.

Cmorg, apparently there are many others ready to reign in this corruption. Someone sent this to me in an email, maybe you should contact them? I have no affiliation with this group, yet. Ii think I will also join them. Several groups spread out all over are not as effective as large numbers in one group. http://openpaulding.org/objectives/

The commissioners haven't run this county in years, you need to look at who runs every board, every authority and even the school board to get a handle on where the real power is in this county. That's why "voting them out" hasn't worked. The people behind the curtain aren't elected officials.

With the exception of the Utility companies, most if not all those chamber "supporting" members have competition right here in the county. No need to have to go to Cartersville for lunch, Crossroads and other unincorporated areas have lots of quaint restaurants.

A letter writing campaign to those businesses might do some good, starting with the power companies and the phone companies. Let them know your dissatisfaction.

Will some of the Pro-Commercial Airport supporters tell me why ?

You know they've had 10 years to do something with this airport. 20 million taxpayer dollars, that won't be reimbursed by the FAA, and TWO jobs is hardly being visionary. Remember how well the Movie Studio was going to do? How many jobs it was going to create. Last I checked, the film industry still created and filmed projects during the recession. The grade on this project is clearly an "F", commercial air service cannot suddenly turn around that which has not proven it is ever capable of being income producing, only a taxpayer liability. It's not the "vision" that is flawed, it -
Jeff Chirico, the reporter that did the story on the Movie Studio has been contacted. I don't trust channel 2 or Channel 11, their reporters heavily favor our local officials. Perhaps a few more emails with additional information, might prompt them to look at this, too. Jeff's email is: jeff.chirico@cbs46.com, jeff.chirico@cbsatlanta.com Feel free to plead with him. He has Melissa's phone number from my email on Friday. Maybe someone can give him surepip's, too.

political reform split from Hammer comes down on surepip

Getting involved and seeing what is actually going on is an eye opener. Making sure the folks that get elected are held to a standard that ensures they are paying attention to the voters and actually fulfilling campaign promises is very, very important. I really expected those people I thought were telling the truth when they sought office to do what they said they would. We need to hold elected officials to their word. It all begins at a local level, we must make them accountable. When they move beyond that, their attitude is irrevocably changed...........it becomes about them an -

Cmorg, again I defer to mei lan's comment in your signature. It's not party, it's politicians. Pubby is right, when I first moved here there were many democrats holding office right here in PC. But when the Republicans began to win race after race, know what happened? I think most can guess, those Dems became Republicans so they could get elected. Some sitting on our BOC now haven't always been republican. It has little to do with party, it has to do with power and money, period. -
We would have to get approximately 35,000 signatures in 45 days to recall the Commission Chaiman and about 5-6000 signatures in 30 to recall the Post 1 commissioner, the only ones that could be recalled at this time. I personally refuse to spend my $$$ at businesses that support the people responsible for this mess. There are others in the county that do the same thing as most of them. I prefer to let those people grow their businesses the honest way, not because they gave a sizable campaign contribution to the "right" person. If you check those campaign contribution lists, then ch

Those 2 guys that were elected to replace those that have spent us in to oblivion with two (2), jobs are not puppets. I assure you I have known one of them for a very long time. And if my memory serves me correctly one of the used the same campaign slogan in one of his previous election runs, "It's about people, not politics". Now unless this mystery wizard you imagine has been pulling his strings for years, you missed the mark. Yes, I have always decided where I was going to spend my money. Those that support out of control spending by our local government will NOT be getting my $$$$ -

:clapping: :clapping: Amen! I know for me right now, the airport is the biggest issue. Until this I didn't pay much attention. I have learned things I never wanted to know and of course couldn't imagine how things are done around here. The airport is just a small piece of a much larger puzzle. Way larger!! There is a group of us, working together to try to change the way things "have always been done". This is just the beginning, our group is growing larger every day. It starts at a local level.................that's where the biggest changes need to be made! -

Pubby, just because someone thinks it is a good idea isn't reason enough. What about commercial service is better than a GA airport? How is commercial going to bring more MRO or business? Everyone keeps saying it's better but WHY is it better. Because someone thinks so is not good enough. Someone thought a 65 million dollar courthouse and a Movie Studio was a good idea, too. Nothing I have seen demands commercial air service. It's not necessary for most companies at airports. -
I'm trying to keep up. I only get so many a day. lol
-
$1,000 in 3 hours. Plus what Pubby's got. Yes, it's a good day in spite of the sadness caused by a select few.
-
Not just this administration but the previous one as well. There is a common denominator. Doesn't matter who's sitting in that chairman's seat.

With all due respect Guard dad, Patti is right. It's all about the GOBs and what they have put so many through in this county. This is not just about Patti's politics, she's not campaigning, she's pissed and that's exactly why she chose to run for office. Patti and I don't agree on much but we do on this, along with a couple thousand other people. What has happened to the Morrison's has happened in many other places here in Paulding County. The only people that win are the lawyers, mostly from the same firm. The surepips still have legal bills they can't pay either. I have learn

What about running some extension cords to outside outlets for those freezers until they find a home. I'm unable to get there right now.
