  1. I've noticed that most supporters don't live in Paulding, why does it matter to them? They don't have the threat of having to pay the tab if Propeller doesn't make it. Here's a video of Calvin Thompson, airport Chairman, telling us there will be no airliners at the airport. This is a pcom video, shot in 2004. "Let me stress that proposed airport would be a business and a private sector airstrip and not a commercial one and, you know, there will be no airliners here and, believe you me, if there was gonna be airliners I would not be a part of this. Never, ever would I be a part of th
  2. I heard they were moving it, to Cherokee County, I think.
  3. Yea, we know no one ever said the airport would be commercial. I think there is still some court hearings regarding the open meetings act. I just don't see how going to a retreat in Douglas County, with no prior or public notification is acceptable by anyone. Wonder who picked up the cost for that secret retreat in which they didn't discuss any "business". Here are their facts, which are really myths. And the real facts. Myth: Silver Comet Terminal Partners approached the Paulding County Airport Authority regarding the prospect of bringing commercial and other business to
  4. I'm getting a little tired of the false advertising they are "promoting" for Allegiant Air. The airline they want to bring here. Those fares are one way fares, they charge extra for carry on bags, a glass of water and anything else other airlines offer to make you comfortable. If all you are interested in is getting there, no frills, no water...........then by all means, jump on their next flight. But don't make any hotel reservations at your destination. They will probably delay your flight by a couple of days, because of mechanical issues. They just cancelled a bunch of flights beca
  5. Hey there is another one on FB, too. Protect Paudling. I will say the Stop the Airport Expansion page is much more active than the Protect Paulding page.
  6. The county needs an in house legal team with no question of a conflict of interest. A county this size should not be using an outside firm with other clients.
  7. So what about the other four commissioners knowing about the airport deal? Was that collusion too? Really, that's a stretch. They're just pitching a hissy fit because they got thrown back at them what they have been doing for years. That needs to stop! We cannot and should not accept doing things the way they have been done in the past. The rein of intimidation and bullying has to end...........and I expect future business of the county to be handled in a professional, open, honest and transparent manner. The GOB network has to be busted up and exposed for what it is. Their arr
  8. That's correct, none of the contracts are with the county. The contract with the IBA is for the Terminal lease and the 139 certification. There is nothing stopping Propeller from going forward with the other three contracts. There is a lease to develop 60 acres adjacent to the airport at a cost of 25¢ per sq ft, there is nothing stopping them from moving forward with MRO and the industrial park. That's where the jobs will be created. (yes, that's only 25¢) How many times have we been told by Brett Smith and Blake Swafford the 139 was only a SMALL part of this?
  9. ^^^^ Awesome post Whitey! Typical politician response. Don't look at me<---------- look here instead --------------> See how bad they are.
  10. I guess my signature must be turned off for some posters...........been there over a year........Put it on the ballot!!
  11. 'Twas an interesting day. One of surprises and lots of shuffling by the two remaining Commission members. I can't believe it was even suggested it be put on a ballot for the county to vote on!!!!!!!!!! I have a copy of the resolution 15-01, now I just have to figure out how to post it. It was great to see you surepip and the Mrs.!!!
  12. But even if you don't go to the meetings, the minutes are available on the paulding.gov web site. Granted you won't get to see the fireworks but you will find out what they voted on and how they voted. Not to mention, all of the meetings are recorded and available on the Save Paulding County FB page and youtube.
  13. Thank you Mojo! Glad you got the information. And yes, the Engineer did exactly the right thing. I do believe the new commissioner's should know what's going on. No I don't expect every department head to give them a daily report. I do expect them to know if there are legal avenues being taken and I would like to see them build relationships with those county employees, especially the department heads. It's always comforting to know your commissioners support what you are doing, even if you happen t work for the county.
  14. Here are the minutes where the land purchase was approved for the County Water Dept. Nice price for under 3 acres. http://www.paulding.gov/ArchiveCenter/ViewFile/Item/651
  15. I believe they have purchased additional land adjacent to the old building. I do believe if you go back and check the minutes of the BOC meeting in 2014, you will have your answer. Maybe May, June or July.
  16. Hopefully everyone will get this information. Surely the deputies at the administration building will tell them where the drop box is if they don't. Thanks for the update.
  17. Greatma, I'm not sure why they are building a new facility on Macland Road. I do know there are hundreds of thousands of dollars in SPLOST funds that are being collected and their attitude is, "spend it on something". Pretty sure SPLOST is coming up for a vote again soon, I won't be voting for it.
  18. Pubby the water dept is at the courthouse. They are no longer on Bill Carruth Parkway. They have temporary offices at the courthouse until their building is done on Macland Road. The building where the water dept was is being remodled for the State Patrol ETA: Directly from the Paulding.gov website, http://www.paulding.gov/index.aspx?NID=225
  19. I can assure you the new commissioners or the Post 2 commissioner knew nothing about this "Stop Work Order" issued by the county.......and yes, I'm a little upset they didn't. It is their job to know what's going on in the county. They can't trust anyone to be straight up with them, they have a responsibility to KNOW about this and get the information from the department heads. They were elected to represent the people, how can they do that effectively if they don't make sure they know what's going on?? I don't know if the Post 1 commissioner was privy to this information, either. I
  20. AtlantDave made some $$$ and had a blast working on the set of several "movies" up in North Carolina..........there could be a future and some income for a GREAT piano player.
  21. Low cost airlines are exactly that, low cost. If you want comfort, free water, ability to pick your seats, etc.........you won't be happy on a low cost carrier. It will get you there but most even charge for carry ons. You do realize those are the types of airlines they are trying to bring in to our airport. Allegiant, Spirit, etc. You won't get to fly Delta from there and you better not have hotel reservations, they cancel flights for "mechanical issues" quite often. Just google them before you spend your $$$$. Chances are once you've spent it, no way will you get a refund, even if
  22. What a wonderful way to pay tribute to someone that worked for the children. Thank you Citizens for a Better Paulding County!!
  23. So I was instructed to call my commissioner, my commissioner knew nothing about this. Someone dropped the ball, not letting them know. They are part time and don't even have an office in the government complex. They need to be informed so they can do the job they were elected to do. Why wouldn't every post commissioner know about this when it happened?
