Always ask how long has it been cut and if its all oak and not mixed with other type materials all ways ask if and how long they been doing firewood .If you drive too a place on side of road and You see a log splitter near buy dont waste your time stopping .Hope this helps people that never bought firewood be for

Always ask is it all oak. How long has it been cut. Is it out in the weather or not wood. Looses 33% percent of btu which is heat lost from going through a wet /dry clcle If laying out doors. Wood should be at lease 6 to 8 months to say it is seasoned, wood any thing under that is just not true or they really don't know what seasoned wood really about. Ive seen alot of trucks parking on hwys selling green wood. Beware of what you buy.
