Ok....I don't want to hear any "world peace", "love for all", "just to be able to pay my bills", "$1 million dollars" or the ever present, "I really don't need anything. I have everything I want or need". BLAH!! BLAH!! BLAH!! YADDA!! YADDA!! YADDA!! Be a little selfish here for a quick minute! What do you REALLY WANT for Christmas? I'd like something really expensive, shiny, and sparkly!! I ain't GETTING something expensive, shiny and sparkly, but it sure would be nice!

I got a tree there several years ago. I can't remember how much I paid. And yes, I just walked up to house, they gave us an ax and we picked one, cut it down then paid for it.

I really hope I get to see some baby duckies this year! We had several merganser females last year to one male, but I never did see any babies... I was so disappointed!

No left-overs here. We went to my BIL and SIL's for dinner. We're having grilled chicken and asparagus with penne pasta and homemade cripinis.

We've had a male hooded merganser that has been hanging with my boys (my pekin ducks) out on our lake since last fall. Yesterday another male showed up and today a female!!! Mayhap I'll get my grand duckies yet! Here's some pics and a quick video that papi took this morning. Me too. Although I bought a total of 30 items from a few different sites. Got good deals and never left my sofa.

I too understand the pain of having a grandchild you can not love the way you would like. And mine lives not more than 10 miles from me, but because of hurt feelings and painful separations we are not as close as I might wish. I just hope my son and his family know how much I love them and want to be involved with my grandson. It's really heartbreaking this time of year.

Thanks, but I retired in October due to on going issues with osteoarthritis in my feet. 22 yrs of hard concrete floors got the best of me. I have a lot of empathy for those who work retail. It's a living, and you can make a good one at it, but it's no fun at the holidays.

Not fun to work retail this time of year. And I don't want to hear how people should be thankful for the job and the money in these days and times. Fact remains it still sucks to be working when your family and what feels like the rest of the world is off and enjoying their holiday.

AGREED!!! I did 22 yrs in a grocery store and it SUCKS ROYAL DONKEY BALLS this time of year!! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Well, I'm not including a "year in review" letter, but I'm mailing my cards in the next week or two. Hope I get lots back!! Where do you put your cards? We always had the tradition of taping them to the back of the front door!

My daughters genealogy report, since it was for psych class, was to be based on physical, emotional, mental characteristics and traits. She came up with several things she could trace through out her family, but the sacral dimple was by far the highlight of the report!

Well that's a relief!! Mayhap mine will stabilize.
