  1. That's not a black powder pistol. Black powder era ended in 1890's and by 1900 Colt for example had gone completely to smokeless powder. That's just a cheap old gun that was made for department stores & hardware stores in that era, common and a blue million of that type of gun was made back then to be more affordable to the average Joe.
  2. This is the sort of thing that really pisses me off about the media and the obvious slant toward minorities and popular thought and opinion by pop culture. I was in wallyworld yesterday and on my way to checkout, I saw a People magazine with that Trayvon boy's baby faced picture all over the cover doing their best to paint him as an innocent little boy to the public. It is misleading and does a disservice to us all and the process of the law. How is Sullivan going to get a fair trial if there ever is one with everyone rallying to hang him just by what they see and hear in the news? Impossible
  3. I have tried all the talked about steak houses around. We had our last anniversary steak at Aspens because I became acquainted with the man who raises the beef on grass that he sells to Aspens, Mckendricks, and so on and I wanted to try that. We were not impressed with Aspens especially with the flavor of the meat. I've been to every place you can get a steak in Hiram and also that Steak House out in Rockmart. To my palate, no one makes a better tasting steak than Texas Roadhouse right here in Hiram. We are regulars there and in the last 9 years they have only over cooked 3 steaks which i
  4. My house was built in 94' and I have learned over the time I've owned it since 2003 that either codes didn't exist for septic as well as construction or nobody paid any attention to them as contractors, developers, and construction companies and most damaging; county inspections. The whole danged lot of them should be tossed in jail and we all divvy up their monies and fix our systems on their dimes! Criminals! I got a plot from the county and the sketch of the drain field is fairly representative of what we have but my neighbors is nowhere even close; even the tank is located totally on t
  5. MY post wasn't about nothing and I wasn't picking. Are there people on here or any forum for that matter that are bored and just post to be posting something and you read it and find nothing of value in it? Of course, It happens all the time, that is a lot of people's mindset. Again, I wasn't looking down my nose at anyone, I know facts and they are readily apparent if one reads through this or most any other forum. I am merely attempting to shed some realistic light on things, not judge people. Do people need in general to devote some time to civic duty like making themselves aware of the
  6. Certain things are allowed by law for you to use such as community service as you mentioned, others are not. Law is what ultimately dictates the availability of those types of things and the judges are bound by the law same as we are, some are more reluctant to offer that but if it is an option granted to you by law, then you should ask for it if they don't offer it up front. Doing that homework I mentioned is part of knowing what the judge has the authority to do, grant, restrict, or otherwise on a case by case basis. If they don't offer it, that doesn't mean you don't have a right to ava
  7. What I wrote was good advice, not intended to hurt anyone's feelings or cause people to take cheap shots at me for telling the truth. If you can't take what I said with a grain of salt and do your homework without turning juvenile on me for trying to shed some light then grow up somewhere. I have been on this site for years under another name but forgot the password after I left for a time. The original premise was that a lot of folks spend a lot of time posting nothing relevant, helpful or otherwise interesting or beneficial and use the forums as a chat room rather than a place to share usefu
  8. As an aside, I would advise all of you to quit guessing about what rights you have and find out what they actually are. The time spent farting around on Paulding dot com one days worth could be spent looking up your rights in any given situation, this being a good place to start subject wise. The Georgia code is easy to do a search on, on the state legislature site. I'd also not allow myself to be so apathetic as to merely speculate as to what the courts can get away with, especially with minor children going into an intimidating venue like a courtroom. I'm not one to just shrug my shoulde
  9. For you to state as though it is a fact that " if your loved one is thrown in the can they belong there" shows how idotic a person can think. I won't attack you for your closed minded insensitivity but you do not know what you're talking about. All one needs to do is file a complaint, lie to the police and you can easily be thrown in jail and be innocent as can be. I know because it happened to me by someone seeking to commit insurance fraud who had a documented history of filing false claims, and it took me 9 months and $5,000.00 to clear my name and that was without ever going to court.
  10. I was glad to be among those that voted his butt out. It will take decades to fix what he left behind just by the over growth of this county made possible by him and his chronies. By the way he ran the board meeting I laid out of work to go to, I decided then and there that it would be a waste of time to attend another while wasting my vacation time.
