  1. I don't usually have to reschedule like this, but my teenager surprised me with an unexpected practice that I have to shuttle her to this evening.

Sorry. I can't make it today.  IF you guys walk today, please let me know if there is another planned.

I'm afraid I have to bow out too. I have been fighting a near migraine since 2 pm and it is NOT improving. I'm off to bed.

  2. I am an AVON rep, and would love to do an open house soon.  Is there anyone that does a direct sales business that would be interested in doing an open house with me?  We could probably generate a lot of business from PCommers too!  Contact me if interested.  Kimberlee  770-428-6966

Have you not spotted the Tupperware Lady in the Walking Discussion? I'll be calling.

  3. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't somebody say Monday at 7:00 O'Clock at the Chamber Trail head?

Is this right or are we going to schedule the 100 mile walk first. :)

    Thanks,

I saw another post, can't find it now, that wanted to back it up to 6 so as not to get dark on us. Yes chamber head.

  4. EB can i stick in my two cents? Someone told me once that if you are right you don't have to fight to prove it. Chances are the ones with the wrong answer will find out for themselves or trip over their wrong answer anyway. Plus when we fight for our answer we just piss off more people.

So if you are right say it and stand on it and then let it stand on it's own. I've tried to go by it and occasionaly (if I'm right) they end up not so beat up to come and tell me i can give them an "I told you so".

(Which i like better than i would have the fight anyhow)

  5. Mine would say:

 We'll fix your Cat, we'll fix your Dog, we'll find discount prices for you,  we'll pay for it if you can't, we'll schedule the appointment for you, we'll even pick it up and bring it back to you if we have to,  and you still allow your pets to uncontrollably breed causing us to have to kill thousands of pets each year!!!!

    Will that fit?

Whew, I feel a little better now ~ Meltid

I like that. My husband said last night that he had wanted a house big enough to shelter a person or two who might be out of or inbetween homes. But what we bought isn't really big enough as we'd hoped. He said this must be practice since we seem to have become a home for unwanted dogs instead. I have to look away every time a see a person with a box of puppies somewhere. :(

As for my plate, I always said when i got my brand new top of the line _______. I'd get a tag that was FINALY. That would go for winning the lottery too.

  6. You need to drop in on the Paulding Animal Shelter too. Be sure to tell them about her troubles because they may keep her in a seperate area. And I was told that even with a collar they may not get the chance to call you. I know when our dog was lost we kept going to all the surrounding shelters, (never found her) and over and over had people bringing dogs in that they had kept for a week thinking they would see a sign or find out who it belonged to.

We were ready to give up and a lady brought in a dog she had taken home from work waiting to see if anyone asked after it. She had kept it for almost 6 weeks so i thought maybe the same for my dog, but no.

I keep all 3 of our dogs with a collar and id tag with name and phone number. Hope she comes home. I know my kids were hearbroken for weeks.

  7. That's so scary to hear such a threatening word like that. My prayers are there too. Can someone find out what sort of treatment he is going through? I have a friend who was also recently diagnosed w/a form or Leukemia and needs Blood Platelets on a reg basis. So I've been donating and it's an easy thing to do. If he could use them. They take your blood out, remove the platelets and replace the blood. No pain and easier than just giving blood. So if he has a need like that I'm sure the group would be available.

  8. What if any is the best time for our body's?  That would help the best? ;)

You said somewhere along the way that you would like walking morning and/or evening. I really prefer mornings since evenings is usually dinner and kids. I'd like to know when or where you might like. Hadn't you said Home Depot? Let me know.

  9. Good point, surepip.  It will be getting dark on us I'm afraid.

Also, what about rain.  Should we hold off til Tuesday?  70% chance of rain Monday, 40% Tuesday.  By Tuesday afternoon it would hopefully be better weather.

I'd say we need to go for it and prepare for rain. My girlfriend and i walked the morning that Ivan started through. It wasn't pouring but we had to keep the umbrellas angled to avoid a Mary Poppins event.

NOW i didn't see anybody give directions.

The Chamber spot is the best looking in my opinion. so here you go.

    278 toward Rockmart (W ?).

Pass Hwy 61 (Nathan Dean Parkway i think at the point) QT on the corner.

You will pass the Chamber of Commerce & Health Dept buildings on your left.

When you get to the first divider in the hiway. You'll need to do a U-Turn and pull into the first Drive on your way back. Pull to the back of the building to park.

I should be off all day so will try to make a P.Com starts here sign. Now walking for time or distance? Think about it. See y'all there.

  10. Alright then....lets get this thing going... :)

Question 1: Where do we want to walk?

Question 2: How many times a week do we want to walk?

Question 3: When do we want to walk?

Question 4: Who do we want organizing this thing?

Question 5: What do we want to call our selves?

And any other questions we can come up with...

    Thanks,

    Gem Man 86

My opinion sir, 1. Silver Comet

    2. 3 -5 times a week

    3. Morning to start the day

    4. I can help

    5. P.com Happy Loosers? P.com Walkie Talkies? :D

  11. Ok, i see 10 of us so far that want to do this thing but 5 pm is really aweful for me. Getting dinner ready. Hubby on the way home from work etc. I need the morning shift. I'm going to try to go out and set this up as a poll to start with and see what time frames we need to set up. I think the several different times and places is the way to go so if you end up unavailable at your usual time we wont have an excuse. Notice i said WE. :D

  12. I like my coffee black no sugar or flavorings, even better when it is 4 or 5 hours old.

    Ditto that.

I prefer Capuchino now have my own maker next to the coffee pot and the 4 cup pot. but after years in the restaurant businessit used to be..."Hey you! go lock the doors, and on the way back bring me that new pot of cold coffee i brewed 4 hours ago. Nope no sugar. Just the pot."

  13. I may be sticking my foot in my mouth but...I also live very near 61 and Nebo. Always having to turn right out of our subd. to go to Nebo and coming close to getting rear ended. When i have to come up Nebo to turn left onto 61 i don't. I have either turned right and gone down to the church to turn around or i go on down Nebo past the Elementary school and turn right going between the lakes to come up on 61 and turn right. And is that another subdivision going up between the two churches on 61? There was an accident last week at Victoria Cove and 61 looked like someone trying to turn in was rear ended by someone coming down the hill on 61.

Back to the foot in mouth part. I don't know anything about petitions but I would volunteer to go door to door with others to get it signed. I do feel like I'm taking my life and my childrens into my hands when leaving or coming home.

And if not a traffic light can we at least get a middle turn lane so we can get 1/2 way across the road without getting hit? God please watch over those families and ours.

  14. We've been going to Trinity Chapel COG in Powder Springs on Macland for several years. But you better be there by 7 or 7:15. Inflatable rides, games, food, tons of fun. Last year the kids stayed with the activities and forgot to do the games for candy they had so much fun. So i bought candy the next day at "day after" prices. I'm not sure if it will be Sat or Sun but I'm thinking Sat.

Sorry but i don't get into the decorate with ghouls and skeleton's thing. Our subdivision decorates more for Halloween than Christmas. Which kind of erks me. We try to get out before anyone is out and about because after that you litterally cannot drive down our street to get home.

  15. Wanted cheap house with a yard.

    Matt

That covers it for us too. Been here almost 5 years and the kids get to play in the street and ride bikes. The neighbors wave coming in and out. If they don't you know they don't live here. and we open up the house and leave it open all day if someone is home. I'd be in trouble if i had to remember to lock my doors again. Even the windows can stay open and feel safe. I know, I know not for much longer. But it's beautiful while it lasts. Geese in the spring and fall are great alarm clocks.

  16. Now I'm wondering what about the schools. Are they gonna cancel or at least close up those trailers? If they close the trailers what do the kids do all day, sit in the gym?

Did you know in Cobb they had a number of schools without power but stayed open anyway. Have a friend/school bus driver who went back to the school in question and picked up her son after her morning route. No electricity means no breakfast and no lunch. And that wasn't the only school. That's some hungry, hungry kids, and since a lot of rooms have no windows anymore that's a pretty dim  place to be.

I don't know if I'd trust them to bring the kids in from the trailers. Just kidding. Just kidding. But even with the rains of Frances, I kept my kids home because they go so in and out of trailers. No umbrella would be much help and i didn't want them to spend the day soaked.

  17. Now that I read up on these last few entries. Maybe we should all leave town. With all the trailers every school has we wont be saying it's raining cats and dogs anymore

I was in an apartment alone with my 3 year old son when Opal came along. I was not happy. We lost power and I usually went to work (in Kennesaw at the time) by way of the mountain. It was a no go that day.

Still it's very early. Doya think if we all blow in unison we could get it to straighten out and head for Texas? Isn't it their turn yet? ;)
