I often patronize businesses that promote virtues that are important to me and I often boycott businesses that display hostility towards my morals and values... It is basic human nature to have preference for those who share the same moral and ethical beliefs as oneself. I am not a religious person, but I do not understand the animosity and intolerance towards business owners or patrons who proudly proclaim their religious beliefs... (I only eat at Chinese places that are owned and operated by Chinese people...)

Interesting, that it is finally admitted that property taxes will probably rise even with renewal of the SPOLST, as that has been a major selling point... As for massive spending deficits and major tax increases : One only need look at the BIGGER (Federal and State) PICTURE to see that most families will see a MAJOR INCREASE in TAXES over the next five years.

First you must factor in the assumption that the millage rate will not be raised even with renewal... You are also assuming that the county would NEED the entire 3.080 mils to make up for the necessary upgrades of public safety and roads, with all the recreation "wish" WANTS voted down it could very well be less... I have not seen any promises or statements from current candidates saying that the millage rate will not be raised in addition to SPLOST. With the SPOLST AND a millage rate hike in the next five years we could very well end up paying double the amount of taxes.

Take it up with TAHOE... I am not the one who injected Obama into this thread : "just like all those goofballs that voted Obama in office....UGH!!!"

And we have had SPLOST for 10 years now...

I prefer to be proactive and base my vote on the merits of each candidate, instead of just being reactionary and letting other folks make my decision. I could care less who Jerry or the GOP is supporting, I have studied the candidates and made up my own mind. - Proud Post # 4 Resident
