If you want to make the arguement for banning all guns you have a point, otherwise these legal restictions would only affect our law abiding citizens. The killer reportedly tried to buy a rifle on Tuesday and was denied. The law worked and this determined psychopath, with no history of violence, still found the way to commit one of the most awful terrible crimes in history. Unless you are talking intensive psychiatric evaluations for every gun owner, then we can only try to understand the unpredicatble signs of mental illness.

We can pass any and all of the legal restrictions on gun sales or possession that you wish, and you still would not prevent a lunatic hell bent on mass murder from obtaining a weapon.
