  1. Dr. Hemmings or Dr. Blatt in Douglasville (near the hopsital) are both opthamologist and both are excellent.
  2. I really don't think there is a 'point' or any particular age. I think it depends on the individual person and how responsible, intelligent and mature that individual is. Everybody is different and people are developmentally different from each other. I know people in their 40's that think like teenagers and don't have the common sense that some middle schoolers do.
  3. Congratulations Wineguy. I once had a job at a company that relied heavily on a wine consultant. We (and apparently nearly everybody else) had Ken Chase as our consultant and I always thought that he had the coolest job in the world. I wish that when I was younger and just figuring out what to do in life that I had known that you could turn a love of wine (and liquor) into a career. Good luck to you!
  4. I must have missed that. Where does it say that?
  5. When I was in high school (a very long time ago), it was Distributive Education Career something or another. It was a school club like FFA or FHA except with DECA, we got earlier in the day and went to work. It probably means something entirely different now.
  6. And there you go...The mother and father know their daughter well enough to realize that something was wrong. Being 22 makes you an adult on paper and in the eyes of the law. It doesn't mean that you are a rational adult capable of making good decisions for yourself and keeping yourself out of harm's way. And her parents knew that from the beginning.
  7. There is a long thread about this subject and the scheduled execution in the Cafe forum. Somehow or another your post about the same subject has ended up in the 'Wanted: Good and Services' forum.
  8. Nope. Not the brightest tools in the shed for sure. There was always some drama with her. Her life was like a soap opera. But I think she prefered it that way.
  9. No evenings at all. We close at 6:30 PM. They require you to be available for working weekends and holidays. It's in Atlanta. I'll send you a PM and you can decide if you are interested.
  10. Something like that happened in my neighborhood a few years back. Somebody was having an affair and their 'boyfriend' would circle around the neighborhood while he called to make sure that the husband had left for his night shift job. When the woman got the call, she'd open the garage door and he'd drive in. We have a cul-de-sac down the street and while I know it may be something entirely innocent, it's the exact same scenario and made me laugh out loud when I read your post. I laugh because they thought they were being so sneaky and that no one had figured out what was going on. In reality,
  11. We are having a job fair TODAY for seasonal positions. These positions don't pay enough to support a family, but it would be a start for someone that needs money coming in while they continue to look for a job that better suits them. They are $10 an hour or less.
  12. Does it have to be a two bedroom? What about a one bedroom? Is that too small?
  13. It depends on the person and how mature they are. Some 18 year olds are ready and can handle it and some 25 year olds can't. How responsible is the person in question?
  14. I'm the same way. My daughter is 22 & no longer lives at home but when she did, I didn't sleep until she was home.
  15. So, did he really die? The link states: "A spokesperson for the Paterno family has denied a report by CBS that former Penn State football coach Joe Paterno has died. CBS previously reported that the 85-year-old college-football legend had succumbed in his battle with lung cancer." But at the end of the article it states that he is survived by his wife and their five children. I am confused.
  16. Port Canaveral is 45 minutes from Orlando. Lots of people, even people in the travel industry, will refer to as Orlando because it gives people a frame of reference as to where it is. I don't call it Orlando or Port Canaveral, I refer to it as Cocoa Beach (which is really about 6 or 7 miles from the port). That's because when I talk to my mother and tell her where I'm leaving from, she has no clue when I say Port Canaveral. If I tell her Cocoa Beach, she knows what I'm talking about.
  17. I hate to admit it but I can't answer the question because I have no idea what you are talking about! Help me understand. ETA: Ok, I just saw the poll at the top, I get it now. Pour it off. And here I thought that this had something to do with liquor. I'm really out of it today.
  18. Congratulations! Don't worry about the physical, you'll be fine.
  19. Hi Ann, I'm sending you a PM with an order.
  20. I go to Merle's for the hamburgers and crinkle cut fries. The hamburgers are home made and are the best anywhere around other than the ones you make yourself in your own kitchen. The BBQ is pretty good too but I've almost forgotten what it tastes like because I always get the hamburger! I've never had his wings.
  21. He sounds like a typical teenager to me! However, I would tell him that from now on he needs to live up to his agreement to pay the monthly bill and that if he doesn't it will be turned off when the next payment is due. Give him a warning and some time to save the money, then see what he does. Be sure that it is clear that you've made the last payment that you are going to make and it's responsibility beginning now. If he drops the ball, follow through and have it shut off. Make sure that you are turning off the phone for the right reason. It should be because he isn't living up to his end of
  22. I received emails from my daughter this week from an old account that she hasn't used in over a year. I think it was G-mail. ETA: The emails that I received were all gibberish but they contained a link that if you didn't pay sufficient attention, it looked like a link to a YouTube video. I didn't clink the link but maybe that's how they are gaining access to people's accounts?
  23. I need to go to class #7 & class #10!
  24. I went prom dress shopping in the 80's with my grandmother and mother. I can assure you that had I stepped out of the dressing room in something like that, they would have both been chasing me around Rich's with a belt in their hands. I don't know about these girls but I was taught to have more self respect and dignity than to present myself in public looking like a street walking prostitute. Times sure have changed.
