  1. I heard something off in the distance but my lights didn't go out or flicker. I thought it was big plane going over or something like that but I wasn't really paying much attention.
  2. No. I've never heard of that. I'm not saying it would never happen but I've never seen it or heard of anyone doing that.
  3. Preservation Hall for jazz, piano bar at Pat O'Brien's, late night people watching at Cafe Du Monde, lunch at Central Grocery, Audubon Zoo, side trip to Oak Alley plantation, Louisiana State Museum & the Cabildo, ride the streetcar, riverboat cruise, go to Mass at St. Louis Cathedral (even if you aren't Catholic), tour the Garden District. They have an aquarium also but if you've been to the GA or TN aquariums, I'd skip it. I thought the hurricane Katrina and Mardi Gras exhibits at the museum were very interesting. There are lots of things to do in New Orleans and even more in the sur
  4. I'm usually pretty cynical so take that into account but if his wife actually exists and if she really works for Century 21 she should know if the house was for sale or foreclosed and empty. Or at the very least she'd be able to pull the info up and answer her own questions without sending her husband and his buddy to find out. Doesn't sound kosher to me.
  5. Were they checking the occupancy of the home of the woman they were talking to or were they asking about one of the other houses on the street?
  6. According to an article in the AJC this afternoon, the Michigan Dept. of Human Services cut her food stamps. She is no longer getting them. However her Mommy defended her and said that she didn't do anything wrong.
  7. Ted just pledged $1M to help gorillas so I'm just going to say YAY Ted!! :drinks:
  8. She's not struggling, she's greedy and lazy and a brat. She said that she's going to continue to use her card until it gets cut off. Maybe her case needs to be re-examined and her card revoked because she doesn't seem to be the type to do the right thing.
  9. Oh I just hate losing that hour and having to be at work an hour earlier than usual on Monday morning. It takes my mind at least a week to acclimate itself to the time change.
  10. I like the Newman's Own coffee and Swiss Miss hot chocolate.
  11. To the OP. I live in south Paulding, south of Ridge so I must be close to where you live. I have an adult daughter that I worry about too so I know the feeling. I can help you ship your boxes to your daughter. My office gets a really good discount for UPS ground shipments. Our negotiated rates with them are usually 50% less than the normal rate. Please PM me if you'd like to ship some packages to her Monday. If shipped Monday, she would most likely get them on Wednesday.
  12. Wow, that's a lot of phone calls. I don't talk to my boss or co-workers that much on the phone. If I did, my husband would probably think I was up to something. Why on earth would anyone need to have so much phone contact within the context of a normal working relationship?
  13. True, very true. My daughter and I are running the same cycles and I can tell without asking if "Aunt Flo" is visiting. With that said, one of my bosses that I worked with years ago used to circle the date on his calendar each month when he needed to steer clear of his four sisters. I used to laugh at that until he started circling dates that he said belonged to me and sure enough, even though we never discussed it, the dates on the calendar were correct for the most part.
  14. Believe it or not, this stuff is a very good fertilizer. I use the elephant poop from Zoo Atlanta whenever I plant something new in the yard. I don't know what Riverbanks sells but I suspect it's the same thing that Atlanta sells. The poop is dried and doesn't smell at all.
  15. She sounds like a psychopath. Not all psychopaths are mass murderers or desire to take over the world. Some of them blend fairly well into society and hide themselves. If you look up what the DSM has to say about that particular personality disorder, it seems to fit her very comfortably. Psychopaths are shallow & have an exaggerated sense of self-worth thinking that they are better than everybody else. They have no empathy for anyone but themselves, they are impulsive, they lie, bully and manipulate people and circumstances all day, every day. They are usually very intelligent and have a l
  16. If you buy a truck that only gets 5 MPG and use that truck to drive around town then you aren't very bright to begin with. She needs to come up with a better story than that because if I had heard that I would have thought that she was an idiot. I don't have money in my pocket to share with idiots.
  17. The Clash - Train in Vain & Rock The Casbah, almost anything by ELO! I was an early 80's teenager so my tastes seem to run along the same lines as RhondaW's
  18. Actually, Sunday Funday is Sunday, 2/26. How do I change the post title?
  19. Admission to the zoo is $5 per person on Sunday, 2/26 if you request the Walmart Sunday Funday rate at the front gate while buying your tickets.
  20. If they were driving Dallas Nebo towards Kroger, then it was probably the multi-car wreck at Senator and Bakers Bridge. It was a bad wreck. I left the house somewhere between 8:15 and 8:20 this morning and saw EMS and one police car on the scene but more were arriving as I left the area.
  21. I can't see the link because my employer has FB blocked. Does the link say anything other than the fact that her car was found?
  22. I had dinner there and loved the red beans and rice. I can't eat anything too spicy and their version was just right.
