  1. I don't think that the child is disabled. When I read the OP’s post, I get the sense that the father is filing for disability for himself based on his own disability. If he is approved and starts receiving a check for himself, his children automatically become eligible for benefits as his dependants. The children can then receive checks of their own that are payable to the custodial parent.
  2. If the mother has primary custody then she would be the custodial parent. He would not be able to receive a dependents benefits check. When you go to the social security office, they require a copy of the custodial agreement before setting up an account. At that point, they would see that he was not eligible to receive a check for them.
  3. The disability check for the children would be payable to whomever has custody of them. Unless he has custody of the children, he cannot get the check for them. He has to show proof of being the custodial parent to get their check. I know several women that receive a dependent check for their children from SS and receive child support also for the same children. None of them were divorced within the last year though.
  4. Why can't she go back to the high school in Rockdale County? What is the issue that has kept her out of school?
  5. Pickett's Mill? They have guided candlelight tours tonight and are reenacting the battle during the tours.
  6. My dogs eat anything and everything, including cat food. One of my cats will even eat dog food. Let them try it before you throw it out and see what happens.
  7. How old is the dog? Somebody posted a picture of a female shepherd on FB today that's in the Douglas County shelter. According to the listing, she's a young shepherd that was a stray.
  8. Is it a perpetual care cemetery? If it is, they may have removed them.
  9. No. I'm too old for that. If I had to snoop, I wouldn't have married him to begin with. I trust my husband and he's never given me any reason not to.
  10. My poor husband had to drive to and from Winward Parkway in Alpharetta for work everyday. That lasted a couple of years but now he just has to cross the hall from the bedroom to his home office. This past Monday I had a doctors appointment off 400 in Sandy Springs and we had to come home down 400/285/20 at 4:30 PM and it brought back bad memories of his former daily commute. I don't know how he did it and stayed sane. One day was more than enough for me.
  11. You know Christmas is on a Tuesday this year and that completely disrupts my having a three day weekend since 12/24 is not a holiday where I work. Perhaps someone can just move Christmas this year to make it more convenient the same way they move Halloween around every year. By the way, I’m being extremely sarcastic here. When I was a child the absolute only time they ever moved Halloween was if it fell on a Sunday. And that was only because this was the bible belt and you didn’t mix Halloween and church. If Halloween was on a weekday, then you went trick or treating on a weekday and wen
  12. I will send you a PM tonight when I get home and set up a time for this Saturday if you are available.
  13. If they don't take them, I will as long as they don't have paint or any chemical spillage on them. I know some primates that like to cover up at night.
  14. There were smoking areas for students at both high schools in Rockdale county also. I don't know about all the high schools in Clayton county but I know there was one at Riverdale. Granted this was in the early to mid 80's. By the end of the 1980's they were gone.
  15. I considered that but dismissed the notion. If you have a good understanding of the English language and how to use it, that usually shows itself even when using text abbreviations on a phone or iPad. Most people don't flip flop between being articulate and coherent in their communications and "teen speak". It wasn't the incorrectly spelled words or even the lack of punctuation that prompted my comment. More to the point, it was the incorrect verb usage and word placements that the poster suddenly seemed to get a handle on and master between posts. But it really doesn't matter. The anonymity o
  16. I think that either two different people are posting under the same screen name or that someone is now helping the poster with what they post.
  17. Are posts # 1 & #9 even written by the same person? Everything from the spelling, sentence structure and punctuation are completely different.
  18. See if there are any tours offered at Dewar Wildlife Trust for the days you'll be in town and go see the gorillas.
  19. Love Andy Williams' Christmas cd. Like watching the replays of his holiday tv specials on PBS also.
  20. Seriously, what kind of annual salary are they willing to offer for the hoop jumping that prospective employees must do?
  21. I'd skip it. A typing test, a math test, a computer skills test, That's what I would expect to have to do. Five hours of training before being hired sounds like BS to me. If you're seeing red flags now, before you actually have a job with them, you can probably expect more of the same if you did get the job.
  22. Sounds fishy to me. When you couple it with switching the position from an executive assistant to a front desk position, it just adds up to somewhere I wouldn't trust or want to deal with. What's a 1099 position? I've heard of full-time, part-time, seasonal, intern and temp but I've never heard of a 1099 position.
  23. They have you working the front desk for 2.5 hours to see if you can do it and if they'll hire you? Is somebody else also working alongside of you training you?
