  1. Just received a call that all after school activities are canceled also.
  2. I for one would like to thank Kim Cobb for her post of updated information. And her continued dedication to the BOE. We all have our opinions of the way we would handle it, or how we think they (the ones that the county voted in to make the decisions) should handle it. I for one would have called it last night before 10pm. I think that would have controlled some of the confusion for this morning. However, I do not know all the steps it takes to make these decisions or the details needed to make the final decision. I am so thankful that safety was the NUMBER ONE concern this morning! And fr
  3. Hey P.Com! There is a new Auction that has opened in Dallas. Steve's Auction! It is open to the public! Friday and Saturday nights starts at 7pm til ? They will be having different sellers each night, with a variety of differnet buys. No telling what you may find. We have went the last two weekends and walked out with some great deals. Last Saturday night we walked out with a cardboard box full of new Christmas items, stocking stuffers, candy, chips, cleaning products, ETC. for less than $25. And had a blast watching the people in the audience bid. There was a good crowd there last Saturday ni
  4. My Uncle owns a landscaping business. He has been in business for 20 something years and I beleave to be the best at any type of Bobcat work. Hedid all the landscape work at Seven Hills and Bentwater. He is local here in Dallas. I just talked to him and he said to give him a call he can come out as soon as you need him to to give you a free qoute. His name is Harry and it is HL Lanscaping and his number is 678-353-1236. It is HL Landscaping sorry I spelled that wrong. And he said you can call anytime.
  5. It was once ALPHA and closed and was reopened by new owners which I might add are awesome. It is now Knuckle Up of Hiram. Totally re-done on the inside and they offer all types of activties. Kickboxing, Ju Jit Su, Cardio classes, Dance classes, Boxing, Mixed Martial Arts, classes for kids and have what I think are the best trainers, one of which is my brother. Great Place! Go by and check them out. I don't have their number but if you need more info you can call Jared at 404-751-6597 and he can answer any questions or set up a time to meet you there to show you around.
  6. My brother Jared is a manager there. I don't have the Gym's number. But here is Jared's Cell number and he said to call him and he can answer any questions you may have. 404-751-6597 Jared
  7. I don't know if you would be interested in this or not. But we adopted an American Pit from Paulding Shelter back in April. I was away in PC with my children for Spring Break. When my husband visited the shelter and fell in love with her. He vistied her everyday taking her treats. When I returned from PC and he told me of her and his daily visits to see her. I PROTESTED with everything in me. I did not want a Pit and I certainly did not want one around my nine year old daughter. I was afraid of the breed. I refused to even go look at her. I said "No WAY!" Not only do I have a nine year old, bu
  8. HUCK FINS is a GREAT place to eat. It is all you can eat fixins as they call it (coleslaw, pinto beans, bread, pickles, hushpuppies) then you choose your meat. Steak, fish, chicken shrimp ALL YOU CAN EAT for around $8 lunch and $10 dinner. They bring it all out to your table and on the weelends have live music! It is awesome! We never go that we don't eat at Huck Fins!
  9. They had three options for parents, students and staff to vote (for which calendar they wanted) posted on the BOE website. I will say that it gets very hot on the buses when we start back in August. Luckly most students are only on the bus an average of 20 minutes. Where as the driver is on the bus an average of 3 hours in the afternoon heat. I do not agree with the short summers. I remember getting out the Friday before Memeorial Day and going back after Labor Day. However this must be the vote of the County, because this is what they went with.
  10. I agree with getting out before Memorial Day and starting back after Labor Day. That was the way it was when I was in school. And I think we turned out ok. Hehehe.. It is sooooooooo hot when we go back in August on the buses. And I am all for limiting the homework regardless of how long the school day is. My daugther is in thrid grade and the homework is a big chore. Not only for her, but for me, as well. They go to school for 6 hours a day. I don't think they should have homework. When I clock out at work I am done for the day. I don't bring work home. So why should they? I do not have a prob
  11. Well that was a kick in the stomach. I have had such a crappy day, so this news was just the icing on the cake. Well CRAP! I have not been able to come the last few weeks. I was soooooooooo looking forward to it this Friday. I tell you all what though. If you wanna still have a good ole time. I will open my home and my mini bar and we can just rock out here! LOL Well it was just a thought. Let me know when and where you go. Not only do I think you are the BEST KJ I consider you a pretty darn good friend! Love Ya!
  12. Oh ok that ws not in my statement that was something someone else posted. And I was not referring to their statement. I was only making one of my own. So you will ave to ask whever posted the statement with "As of July 1, 2005 people who think they have been injured by the"... No I did not think you were being ugly. I was just confused and thought you might have me mixed up with someone else. Thats all, I was just trying to figure it out.
  13. I don't understand what you are asking me. I never even mentioned Money in my post at all. And I am not sure where in my statement that I even insinuated such a thing. I was just sayig that I had recieved the flu shot several years back and would not be getting another one. And I was explaining that situation. Never mentioned money. So now I am confused.
  14. I too am Type 2 Diabetic. I know I am taking a risk by not getting the flu shot. But I am hoping I will be ok.
  15. I am 33 years old. And I have one flu shot in my life. With in 48 hours of receiving the shot. I became very sick. I went back to the doctore the next day and he said that I HAD THE FLU. His explanation of this was that my immune system must have been low before I received the vaccine, which allowed the virus to take over my immune system. Causing me to be infected with the FLU. I was so sick. And took me nearly 9 days to get 100% better. Now I can not remember if my doctor mentioned to me that the viruses were dead or alive at the time of injection. But I beleave without a doubt that is
  16. We had soooooo much fun Friday night! Karaoke was a BLAST as always! And I will have to say the FOOD WAS GREAT! I had the Sheppard's Pie MMMMMMMMMMM.... it was yummy. We also had the chips which were awesome. Best Meal I have ever had at Macfarlanes. Amanda whipped us up some drinks called Carmel Apple which I must say are "AMAZING". So after going to Camp Blood in Carrollton last night (Saturday) we had to stop by Macfarlanes on the way home to get in on some Karaoke action and drink a Carmel Apple. I was there both Friday and Saturday night this weekend. And I really enjoyed the new changes
  17. Well I hope I speak for many when I say I LOVE THIS PLACE! I like the warm friendly feeling I get when I go there. I enjoy and look forward to unwinding and singing on Friday and Saturday nights. Although I am not to thrilled about the 21+ change. I do feel that Brandon made a very wise decision. I do enjoy bringing my son and daughter (Son 17 and Daughter 9) with me on Friday nights. But it is more of an adult atmosphere and have considered not bringing my youngest anymore of my own choice. Because of the change I will only get to attend every other weekend when I am kids less. But as I s
