We spent the day up there today... it was a great day! Thanks to Wendell for allowing us to be there and for supporting our efforts to help special needs children and their families. I really appreciate it!

This group will be for making friends with others who go through similar issues.... social outings if the group wants to..... a place where those who have Asperger's will be accepted for who he/she is... where there are no expectations to be anything but who you are! IEP Buddies would attend each other's IEP meetings... not to provide advocacy, but just emotional support. On October 10th, West Ridge Church will be hosting a Parent's Breakaway event from 1:00-5:00! This is respite care for special needs children AND their siblings! This is for ANY age and it's FREE! There will be lots of supervised fun!!!! A nurse is on staff... Special Education teachers will be among the volunteers. They have 21 children signed up this time and would love to have more! This is a special needs baseball team that meets at Mt. Tabor Park in the gym. It's a wonderful way for ALL children to get to play baseball! It's very relaxed and the kid's have a great time! Players can be assisted as they bat or walk/run, ride around the bases! For more info.. contact Cathy or Gene at gc1010@bellsouth.net. Registration will be accepted up to the first game which is this Saturday! I don't believe there is a cost for playing.... and there is an Awards Ceremony at the end of the season with fun, food, and recognition!

Welcome and it was nice meeting you last week!!!! West Georgia Family Dentistry sees my son and has always let me go back... he has autism.... They also schedule appointments so that they can spend quality time with them and are usually the only ones in the office!

Someone graciously gave me a $20.00 gift certificate from there and then I went online and found their monthly coupon for buy 2 books, get 1 free. I went today to explore what they have and love their store!!!! I walked out with 7 books for the Lending Library and only paid $11.00 extra!!!!!! I was then invited to the warehouse behind the store to get some magazines and walked away with a crate, some magazines, another book, a business card holder, and a wall mounted pamphlet chart for larger pamphlets for FREE!!!! They are awesome and everyone needs to go check them out! Thank you

She works in Rome... the son had just started college... I'm not sure where...

I received a message from a child's parent I work with a couple of days ago. Her co-worker's 17 year old... very healthy son... became sick three days prior to this date and had died that night of swine flu. There may be a lot of hype... but it's also VERY real.... I'm sure this family never saw it coming or thought it would happen to them.... so sad....

Vicks on the bottom of my feet at bedtime helps, too... but you got to put a lot and then put on socks... if that fails... I've got a stash of the homemade remedy, too! lol

I don't close until 4:00 now.... I wish I had remembered, we were hungry! LOL Make sure she catches me next time!!!!!!

Nicholas... I've yet to understand why some folks feel the need to be ugly. I didn't see the post... don't want to see the post, and don't understand why some people take pleasure in degrading others.... It's a shame that some people are so miserable within themselves, they have to try to spread their sarcasm and misery. I appreciate all you've done to go the extra mile to learn how to work with special needs children and your involvement in the community.... keep on keeping on.... Rise above the ugly....
