  1. I remember those days...ok, maybe I don't remember much, but there were days, right?
  2. Yep, and we already learned in the overweight thread that I can't afford the extra weight.
  3. I would not be to quick to dismiss the idea that Santa Claus does exist. After all if you have ever watched 'COPS' on TV, you have seen that there is a "Dope Fairy" who goes around putting drugs in peoples pants, purses, wallets, cars, homes and I have even seen it where the "Dope Fairy" put drugs in the peoples mouths and none of these people ever knew the drug was there of how got there. If a "Dope Fairy" can do that, every day, for all those poor people, then certainly Santa Claus can come once a year.
  4. I have thought about quitting chewing (tobbacco that is) but decided that I needed to keep at least a few bad habits. My wife has thought very seriously about my quitting. If you are going to light a candle for me, it will need to be a BIG candle.
  5. Better to be the New guinea pig than be the Old guinea pig.
  6. First, sorry that you didn't get the job, but it could be a blessing in disguise. Keeping my comments to myself about anything else to do with Tanner in general and this policy in specific.
  7. Wishing you all the luck, but praying for those who may live with you.
  8. First thank you and Dallas Red for your input, it matches what my thoughts were about the whole deal. Second, just for the record (as they say) I was on antibiotics for a few day before the root canal and I took the last one Monday (I think). I will make some calls tommorrow and get a 2nd opionon as has been suggested by everyone. Like I said, I thought this was not right (the hot/cold thing) but when the "expert" says otherwise you start second guessing your common sense. ETA: and thanks lowrider
  9. My wife worked there until Aug of this year, she knew nothing about nicotine testing when I asked her.
  10. Thank you all. Like I said, my thought was that there should not be any issue with hot/cold, so I had an appointment this afternoon to get it checked out and then this morning they called and cancelled it, saying I need more antibiotics not an appt. That was when I posted this topic, wanted to see what others had experinced. If there is a dentist on here, please PM your thoughts.
  11. Blondie and I have a lot in common, I never want to take away my wife's pleasure of running the vacumn or the dishwasher or cleaning the kitchen or the bathrooms. (I do my own laundry, she fold 'em wrong) However, being the loving spouse that she is, lately she seems to think that she is hogging all the fun and has been strongly insisting that I take a turn. I guess I am going to have to give it a go and then break something (vacumn, plates, something) while cleaning to help her understand, it is better if she does it. I am only thinking of her.
  12. Yeh, he always had a thing for "cool blondes" but he went way off the deep end with Tippi Hedren. Not his shining hour to say the very least. I haven't seen the movie, is it a documentry or a movie about their relationship with actors?
  13. My thoughts exactly. I had an appointment for today, but they cancelled the appt and called in more antibiotics and said to wait another week.
  14. I had a root canal last Friday, there was some infection when this was done. I am still having a lot of sensitivity to hot and cold, in fact it is pretty painful when just a little bit of cool hits it. I have had root canals before, many years ago, but I never had this problem before. Has anyone else had this issue? Thank you in advance for your input.
  15. Rope was loosely based on the real murder of Bobby Franks by two young men who had very high IQ's, Leapold and Loeb. Clarance Darrow was their attorney at their trial and I think this was the last case he ever tried. He never tried to get anything but a guilty with life in prison sentence as they confessed to the killing. He succeeded in getting them life, but Loeb was killed in prison and Leapold was later released on parole. So much for a "life" sentence.
  16. When you watch Rope again, and you may know this, notice that there are no "cuts" in the film. Hitch wanted to try and make a film without any cut aways. But as the camera only held around ten minutes of film, he would have someone step in front of the lense near the end of the roll of film and show a closeup of that persons back or have them open the chest with a closeup of the chest lid and the start the next roll of film with the same closeup. But this meant that the actors had to do ten minutes of acting and dialog without mistakes. That meant a lot of film was used due to normal mista
  17. Never mind. From the topic title I thought this had something to do with my ex.
  18. Before I go to bed, here is the answer on how Hitchcock managed to make a cameo appearance in the movie Lifeboat. There was a magazine in the boat and pages of the magazine were shown as someone looked through it. There was an ad for a weight loss program in the magazine and Hitchcock was shown as the before picture.
