There is a local place down here similar to Jump 4 Joey, only it has fewer inflatables and more token operated games and rides. 1. Adults do not belong on inflatables. Assuming your child is old enough to climb and slide by themselves, it is not ok for an adult to participate in the activity. There was an adult male who was playing on the slide that my daughter was on, it creeped my daughter out enough to ask that we move to another slide. He was on there with kids who were fully capable of climbing the slide and going down it alone. 2. Most kids are oblivious. My kids are very aware o

You can call me sick. I call my self a realist, people are judgmental, and there are sick people out there. I believe dressing a child age appropriate helps them to be treated in an age appropriate way. I don't care what you call me or say about me. I think it's funny that you are arguing on the side of tarting up children though.

Now that we have both kids on solid food we rarely have leftovers, and if there are any they either get eaten by me or my husband for lunch. I can't imagine how much money I've saved since I started working from home. I used to eat lunch out a lot, but now I just eat leftovers since I don't have to remember to bring them.

Before I moved here I always swiped when they started ringing me up. However our local grocery store doesn't work that way. It won't accept your swipe until the cashier totals is.

Something is missing in this story. Where were her parents? -
I am an extremely patient person, I've been on both sides of a retail counter. I've been the owner, the cashier and the customer. It takes a lot to get me angry, but when I do get angry I am hell on wheels. We have one fastfood place in the town we live in. It is a Hardees, and it is NOTORIOUSLY for being extremely slow. Well one night we were stopping to grab some food on our way home from a family get together. I had a sick kid in the back seat and we ordered 2 burgers and some chicken tenders. I was prepared for them to be slow, they always are. Anyway, we drive up to order, we're the o

I don't know if this has been addressed, but both my ex husband and my current believe that 15 items means 15 different variety of items. Whereas I believe that an item is an item no matter what it is. I will not go in the express lane with more than 15 individual items. They somehow believe that it's ok to go into the express lane with say 5 boxes of spaghetti, 5 jars of sauce, 5 bags of cheese, and 5 packs of hamburger as long as the items are of the same make up. To me that equals 20 items, but they think it equals 4 items. It's a moot point to us though, none of our grocery stores have

I was raised the same way, I didn't wear whorish clothes, I don't have tattoos, I was drunk once in college, and was regularly on deans list. So I guess there is more than one way to raise a well adjusted child. Nowhere did I say that your child was or was going to be a whore, I said that when someone dresses that way they are saying something to the world that is watching them, and as a parent when you let your kid go out there it says something about you. If you are ok with the image that you are portraying then why do you care what I or others think?

Next to the thread titles. There are brown folders, blue, red, etc. What is the significance of the different colors?

If a 6 year old is wearing heels I don't consider the 6 year old trash. I would question the parents ability to make good judgment on what is age appropriate for a child. If I see a 16 year old dressed like a hoochie, then yeah, I probably assume she's not got the best moral compass, and if she's ok with people assuming that about her then that's her right.
-
I'm jaded because I want my daughter to do age appropriate things? If so I am proudly jaded. The only time I ever remember anyone wearing heels to school was for band or chorus concerts. I didn't see them in everyday wear. Of course I've been out of high school for 16 years.

No, my daughter wears shorts. However heels on a 6 year old screams questionable parental decision making. Temporary tattoo is 50/50. Is it in a tramp stamp location?

Looks like it's open season on killing white people.

Fairly or unfairly, people look at you and make a judgment about you based on what they see. If I see a teenage girl walking around in skimpy clothes wearing heals, my first thought it going to be along the lines of wow, I bet she gets around, or at least wants to make people think she does. My second thought is going to be wow, I can't believe a parent thinks that is appropriate. If I never talk to the girl or her parent that is the impression I am left with of them. Now after talking to them I might change my initial assessment, but that's the first impression.

I missed this part. I didn't realize Obama was black Jesus

To each his own, but to answer your question, I dress them in age appropriate clothes, I have a almost 1.5 year old and an almost 3 year old. They wear dresses to things that require them, and to school they normally wear shorts and tee shirts. I have had 2 mani pedis in the last year, and I wouldn't take my daughters to them. I didn't go with my mom to have a manicure done until I was a senior in high school. So I doubt I will let mine do it until they are around 15 or 16. Their ears are not pierced. That's a decision I will let them make when they are old enough to care for their pierced ear

I think she reacted like 90% of people in the same situation would have reacted. I think you're a little jaded, and possibly she was talking like that because of the stress of the situation, and talks more professionally when interacting with the children.

Exactly, they have the rest of their lives to wear make up, put on heels, and dress in inappropriate clothes. I for one want my girls to stay little girls as long as possible. I'm not a prude, I just want to keep them child-like for as long as I can. I don't even buy two piece swim suits for my kids. I just see all this crap marketed to our kids and it makes me angry, they have the rest of their life to dress like that, you only get to be a kid once.
-
This never should have made the news, I agree with that, but at what point did a 1st GRADER start needing to wear a 2" wedge to school? I just had this discussion with my husband night before last. The only reason there are uniform rules is because apparently parents forget what is and is not appropriate to wear to school. I would think MOST kids get their clothes from their parents buying them, if it's not appropriate to wear to school then don't buy it because it's probably not appropriate to wear in public.

I thought it was because of the crib sides malfunctioning and falling and possibly causing injury, but I don't know. They change baby gear rules so much. My oldest is just under 3, and I think her crib is already banned and not allowed to be resold. She's still sleeping in it.

You can't sell them anymore, try some second hand stores. There was one in our thrift shop not long ago. I know some people that have them and use them for the kids, they just turn the side that drops against the wall
-
I don't think I wore heels until I was in college, but I've seen then in the stores for kids not much older than my almost 3 year old. Where are the parents?

How can shoes be inappropriate?

It's Memphis, not surprising.

We are all pitted against each other. One side is telling their people that you can't believe anything the main stream media tells you. The other side is telling their people that you can't trust anything any non-mainstream media source tells you. So then people look at where it is posted and form their decision without actually looking into the facts of the article.
