That is so silly. Why don't they just leave it up to the students & parents? I have a Kindle, and it is great. The cost of one Kindle is about the same as one freshman college course text (the ones I had to have anyway). There has to be some kick back from the text book companies, b/c by the second or third book download, the Kindle has already paid for itself.

That one does look good. I read the book not too long ago and it was great - I couldn't put it down. It's rather creepy, though. I can't say the same about No Country For Old Men (same author) - I couldn't concentrate on it. I don't know if I will see 2012... I love John Cusack, though. I may wit until it comes out on DVD.

I would love a new laptop - a Mac would be perfect, but its not in the budget. A pressure washer A shopping spree for me! I need clothes but I can't bring myself to spend a lot of money on them. Of course, I don't NEED any of those. I would like to just have a stress free Thanksgiving and Christmas, but.... well... we will see.

Good for you! They are your kids, and people need to keep their noses out of other people's business. Unless, of course someone was abusing their kid (which I don't for one minute think this was your case). I don't have kids either, but I will say this. I do not stare at folks disciplining their kids. I WILL stare if they are not. There are so many times we are out and people have their kids with them in a restaurant or store and they are off the wall. Yep. Same here. Although, I haven't met anyone yet that I know of. Even though, I did have a p'commer at my house over the weekend and didn't even know until he was gone! I didn't get to meet him. But, Mr.B said he was one of the nicest people he's met since we moved here.
