  1. I would lose a night in Portland. There is more to do and see in Seattle, and they are very similar. Mt Rainier is really a must do! Like the Grand Canyon it is truly majestic.
  2. Buy a National Parks pass before you go. You will get a cool sticker too!
  3. I would add on place to your list. After you leave Seattle instead of going I-90 to Coeur d'Alene I would drop down about an hour or so and go through Mt. Rainier National Park. It is well worth it! I moved here from Seattle a couple of years ago and we did the trip from Tacoma to Yakima a few times a year just for the drive.
  4. Go as early as possible. A good portion of your trip is in the desert. That is where I would be worried about anything happening like the truck breaking down. Some of those places are a long way from getting help. I would do it though!
  5. No offense to Vito's, but chili is a dish that is best when it's home made.
  6. Exactly! Same with Red beans and rice.
  7. A trip to Italy in the spring. She has wanted to go for years.
  8. changed my mind on posting this.
  9. But what is it? I dont know if this is a georgia thang anymore, sounds more like a Louisiana coon-ass thang to me.
  10. What is this brunswick stew you speak of? I am not from georgia, and figure its a georgia thang.

  13. Sports source- That close to my commute. I feel his pain. I am lucky that my wife make about double what I make so I could take the paycut and we would be just fine. I wish him the best! Austin- Thanks for the info, but I tried the bus and my commute was well over 3 hours a day. I am trying to cut that back! Z29- I started to open a Horticulture based business over the summer, but the timing was just not right and I couldnt work out lease terms with the property owener. Without getting too specific I think I would like to do something with plants, or food, or helping people.
  14. I would take less money to work closer to home and to do something that I enjoy. There is where the problem lies. Not enough industy to do that here. So, for now I will probably have to settle for not having the job I love, but will be closer to home and the family. Heck, I wouldn't be against working for cheap or even volunteering to get experience in a different industy just to work closer to home. Luckily my wife loves her job enough to drive to Atlanta a few days a week and work from home the others. Financially we are stable enough that we could take a short term (6 months or les
  15. 1 to 1 1/2 hour commute each day is killing me. I really dont make that much money, and 2-3 hours extra each day is a part time job I dont get paid for, not to mention gas and the wear and tear on my vehicle. I dont know what I am going to do yet, but I want to find something I enjoy doing. I just needed to put this out there, so now I have said my peace in public. Next action is to make this a reality. I know times are tough, but I think this is going to be the right move for the family and myself.
  16. Its late and my eyes read dishwater. I threw up in my mouth a little.
  17. I dont think you get much paid time off anymore. My wife used her vacation and sick time and short term disability. You are also given time off from FMLA if you qualify, but that is usually un paid.
  18. Cant post many more of his songs on here! LOL
  19. If you liked Paranormal activity, then you have to see the alternate ending!!
