  1. I was at the library today and was thinking the same thing. It will be rather dangerous trying to cross assuming that the sidewalk will be used to walk to the library.
  2. That was great, hilarious, but great. I've never seen that one.
  3. You are very sweet. My husband wanted to get me a cake last week but I really wasn't in the mood for it. Today my oldest turned 36 and he's a couple of hours away so I got a cake today to celebrate both of our birthdays, even though we weren't together. My 15 year old enjoyed it!
  4. When I was little, back in the 50's, Mighty Mouse was one of my favorite cartoons on tv. I liked Popeye too. What were your favorite kid shows or cartoons?
  5. Boy, don't you know it - it is so true! I was reading the alka seltzer bottle today because I had a sick headache and had already taken some this morning and wasn't sure when I could take it again. You can take up to eight in a 24 hour period unless you're 60 or over, then up to four in a 24 hour period. I turned 60 last Tuesday so all of a sudden I can only take half as much!! Crazy.
  6. I fixed Jenilyn's Spicy Shredded Mexican Pork Roast in the crock pot. My son and I already had some and it was great but probably too spicy for dh when he gets home. Also went to Publix for a chocolate cake since I never had a cake on my birthday last week. They didn't have the ganache one that I wanted but we got one with strawberries on top and it is very good.
  7. I'm glad I chose not to take Bobo home from Publix. Praying that this turns out better than it sounds.
  8. I liked Little Joe but Adam was my favorite.
  9. I went to Cedartown two weeks ago to renew my DL and was in and out in about 30 minutes and it's a nice easy drive to get there, very little traffic. When I took my son last summer to get his learner's the place was packed so it took quite a bit longer but I still prefer it to Cartersville. Cartersville is a tiny place.
  10. That is an amazing story. I wish I could have had one more face to face conversation with my mother. Wow! That really gives you something to think about.
  11. I have to make sure I don't have ice cream because I will sit and eat the whole container when I'm stressed. I have friends that don't eat and lose a lot of weight when they're stressed - not me- I eat and gain.
  12. I heard this mentioned on one of the morning shows this morning. It makes sense to me if you have a child with low self-esteem and they're spending a lot of time on facebook where bullying happens quite often. Kids don't care what they say to each other and they can be quite mean with their comments.
  13. I just saw a commercial for one of those lawyers that advertise all the time for various things. This one was about if you have taken acetaminophen or Tylenol and have suffered severe liver damage to call them because you could be eligible for compensation. Don't the warnings on the bottles protect those companies from lawsuits? My husband takes tylenol constantly and doesn't listen to me when I tell him he's taking too much.
  14. Dr. appointments, de-cluttering and getting rid of stuff. Maybe I can scrape together some money to do something fun with my son one day - would love to see the ocean. Sixth grandchild is due in a few days but I can't get out to Albuquerque for that.
  15. How exciting for you. We'll probably see you on tv. I wonder if Sam Champion will be the one doing the interview, he seems to be the one that does those kind of things. Enjoy!!

  17. Maybe it's time for mothers to rise up and tell the men in charge that enough is enough.

  21. I can imagine that this is difficult for a lot of families to watch.
  22. His dad was sitting next to his mom when they gave her the flag.
