Maybe I'm misunderstanding what is going on, but, Fox News is not a government run website. Any problems they are having, would have to be dealt with by their IT guys. Unless its a conspiracy.... I would think Fox News is not the only place it can be found.

I have thought I liked it before, but heres what I dont like: 1. Smelling like an ashtray 2. Knowing my lungs are nasty 3. Time. When I quit before (pregnant), I seemed to have so much more time to do things 4. Cost 5. The general attitude toward smokers--its not cool anymore 6. I just dont like anything having a "hold" on me I got the Chantix prescription once, but the kids did me a favor and cleaned my car and threw out the paper!! It's probably just as well because I've heard many bad things about it. I've heard people have quit on it, but I've also heard about very bad

Dont get me wrong, I wasnt trying to fight!! You hadnt mentioned your own health concerns in your prior post, and I get it for sure. Actually, it is a bad habit that I DONT enjoy. Believe me, I would feed my kids before I would smoke. I just get irritated because I never see anyone say "I hate it when poor people buy sodas that they dont NEED". When is it okay to spend money on things that arent necessary? Like going to bars. Do you have to just have your bills paid, or have $5000 in savings, $10,000? Just wanted to offer another perspective.

I believe the discussion was about people going overboard and boycotting the store, maybe I missed something. We dont blame the victims of other crimes, and we shouldnt in this case either. If a woman gets assaulted walking home from college at night, we dont blame her for not driving. 100% of the blame needs to go to the criminal. Besides, who knows, maybe the person who did it was black---jsut to get a rise out of people. Ya never know.

I agree. People need to be held accountable for their OWN actions, not the actions of others. Lets not blame the victim (Walmart) who was basically vandalized.

I dont think its funny, but I'm tired of it all. I wouldnt boycott a store if some moron came over the loud speaker saying that all blondes must exit now. If it keeps getting blown out of proportion, it will never go away. Unfortunatley, only time can fix the horrible things that have happened in the past. It isnt funny, but Wal Mart didnt do it. If someone robs Chase Bank, do we boycott them for having that person in there?

They are expensive, there is no arguing that point--but I disagree with attacking cigarettes at every chance. Not necessarily you, but non-smokers in general. I see poor people buying unnecessary things all the time--sodas for $1.49 when a 2 liter or 12 pack is less, a 99 cent bag containing 7 chips in it, going out to eat...you get my point? Everyone has their weaknesses, it just seems that people with this particular weakness are targeted far more by people wanting to criticise others' spending habits. Cigarettes have gotten a real bad name in recent years, but we must not forget that it

I've noticed the anti-fire ingredients actually make little sparks fly off seeming much more hazardous. Its not the cigarettes that started the fires, its the people that didnt pay attention. I've noticed that stoves and ovens dont have automatic shut-offs. Anyway, I am anxious to quit so I will be paying them less taxes.

Funny! I only had a roommate for a short period of time, and couldnt handle it now.

I was in that tax bracket and got back $6000 one year. I nowhere near paid that in on SS taxes. ETA: This was many years ago. I worked with a guy that worked part time, had 5 kids and got back over $5000 last year, which was probably equal to what he had actually EARNED that year.

People who collect welfare and food stamps for extended amount of time bother me more than the EIC. At least most of the people who get the EIC actually work and contribute to society. It is possible that if some of them didnt get it, it would not be worth it for them to work, therefore landing them on welfare. We all know that happens. Do I agree with getting more than you paid in? No. But I have been in that tax bracket, and it is hard. Not earning enough to barely pay your bills. What people must understand, is we MUST have the "working poor". There is no way around it, that is how soc

I was fortunate that I got a lot of experience at my first real job. Over the 9 years I worked there this is what I did: swept floors, inventory control, freight dispatcher, customer service rep, sales, warehouse management, billing/payroll/accounting, and probably other things I cant think of. We had a hard time keeping people that would actually do their job. They actually sent me to Memphis for training with another girl (for her job), because they didnt think she could figure it out. And I didnt even work in her department. One thing I could do more of, is networking. I dont know

Beast of Burden is one of my favorites---and I loved hearing Lee sing it.

What bulbs do you plant in the spring?? I got a mixed pot of tulips and a couple others (cant remember), but they were already started. I put them in a bigger pot with pansies, so I can bring them in. They are growing like weeds, though. I thought most bulbs were supposed to be planted in the fall, but I also havnt done any gardening since moving to a different climate.

I thought I had watched on HGTV that vinegar works good. You may research that. Good luck!
-
You have time for coffee?? Geesh, if I had that garden, I would need lights up so I could work all night.....

Thanks! I'm really looking forward to being able to pick some fresh veggies, and hopefully 'can' a little bit of tomatoes if I get enough.
-
Wow, very impressive!! That must be a full time job. I'm going to see if I can keep my 6 plants alive to start with. BTW, I wanted to ask you, do you plant anything in the winter months? I made a garden box, and thought maybe if I covered it with plastic in the winter it would be similar to a greenhouse, and I could plant broccoli, as that is the kids' favorite veggie.

I put out a few tomato plants last week, and planted lettuce, spinach, cantelope and cucumber seeds. If there's a danger of frost, I will just cover them up.

We were coming from Mississippi on I-20 and saw them almost the entire way! They were so pretty, and at one point, we saw it end right in the road. There wasnt any gold.....

I really hope there is a good attendance for this. We are out of state and unable to go. BUT don't let the weather stop you! There are partly blue skies here in Alabama and its headed your way!
