Buying cheaper online prescriptions from other countries
Mama Carol replied to barrycdog's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I would think the answer to both questions would be yes. I've known of people who got medicines in Mexico. Certainly don't see why they wouldn't bring back some extra. -

51.1%47.2% Four points is huge if it's baseball but four points isn't much when it comes to an ass whooping. That is NOT an overwhelming majority. An overwhelming majority would be like 60/40. -

You likely won't know if the local CVS gave you the wrong prescription either. I'm sure some online pharmacies have a return policy if you got the wrong prescription (or the wrong dose). If you don't take it, the only problem would be you'd be out of money maybe. I actually don't know enough about online pharmacies to know their policies. Even the correct prescription in the correct dose can kill you. I don't trust the Sam's Pharmacy at the Hiram location any further than I can throw it. They lied to me over and over. And yes, getting the wrong presc -

Why answer it? That's why Caller ID was invented, as well as call block. I remember when several medications became available OTC. Insurance companies stopped paying for the prescriptions. You HAD to buy it OTC or pay full price for the prescription. And often, the prescriptions were three, four or even ten times the price of the OTC for the same DOSAGE (not same number of pills but same dosage). -

Obama received 50.1% of the popular vote in 2012. Maybe we need an electoral college to decide what Americans want based on popular vote as well. -
I haven't had any luck getting on the site. Still the same thing--wait and wait and wait for the log in screen only to be told that my account isn't valid.

Scare tactics. Pure and simple. Time for all of them, from the Pres_ent down to the first year Representatives to sit down and hammer out an agreement. Keep some things shut down if necessary. If the country can do without them, leave them shut down. Every single moral, fiscally responsible citizen has to make cut backs if income doesn't cover expenses. It's time for the government to do the same thing. -

All of you who say it's not worth the risk do realize that all drugs come pretty much from the same places, right? You can buy drugs from other countries cheaper because the drug companies don't have to pay for advertising (the US is only one of two countries that allow advertising for prescription drugs) and they don't have to pay off the government in the form of making "contributions" to the FDA. Seems like there should be someone somewhere who puts 2 and 2 together and comes out with the correct answer of 4. If other countries can provide health care cheaper and drugs are cheaper t -
AWESOME!!! I really hope to be able to get through and see my choices before my doctor's appointment on Tuesday. I need to know what I'm looking at as far as costs to have surgery done would be if I have it now as opposed to after the first of the year.

Did you do this through healthcare.gov or over the phone?

exactly. The biggest supporters of Obamacare were the insurance companies and the drug companies. WHY would they do that unless they stood to make huge, obscene profits from it? They wouldn't. They supported it because they basically then had the government's approval of running things the way they want to. -
Just be aware that even if you win, you may not be able to collect. And yes, take everything you have that can prove your case. If you can't prove the case, you don't have a chance of winning. I'm not sure but I don't think in small claims court you can bring an attorney with you. Check with the county where you'll be filing because it may depend on the county whether or not you can bring one. And also be aware that the costs do vary and can depend on whether or not you need to have papers served, etc. Not sure about other counties but I believe Cobb County has a way to file o

I Can't Wait to See the prices of Insurance

Anyone here legally is welcome to benefits. Period. Where do you get the idea that I said otherwise? It's the families that are here ILLEGALLY who should not get one cent. If you're here legally, you are part of the system and should benefit from it. If you're not, you don't. Pretty simple, huh? -

OK. I thought you meant that was being talked about as a way to get everyone to pay their fair share. Sorry. I misread that. I know for a fact that 1099s are abused but on both sides--people who really should be employees are getting them and not having taxes withheld which they really like until it comes time to file a tax return and they find they owe about 30% of that income in taxes. I've seen teenagers with their first job who ended up having so much to pay in taxes that they would be lucky to have them paid by the time they reached 30. Then I've seen the workers request a 1099 f -
Well, their "problem" isn't fixed yet. I've tried three times today to get online. The first attempt was about a half hour and never got to a log in screen. The second attempt was a little faster, maybe 20 minutes, but once again when I got to the sign in screen it said my username/password was invalid. The third time, it took me to a screen that was supposed to be a log in screen but it went blank. And loaded and loaded and loaded......... to no avail. I said to heck with it and went to Escambia Bay in hopes of seeing porpoises.

Interesting. I have not heard any buzz about doing away with 1099s and making every employer give their workers W2s. I can't see that ever happening because there are truly independent business owners who receive them. I *could* see reducing the threshold for providing them, reducing it from the current (and long time) $600 to say any payment. But doing away with them, nope. That would really involve so much tax legislation that it would bog down Congress for years. And I've not heard anything about having to prove the exemptions you take on your W4. I'll have to look into -

According to the FDA, 13% of generic prescription drugs are made in the USA, 43% in China and 39% in India. Yes, that includes the ones you buy in Paulding County. -

Has nothing to do with being psychic. Has to do with being a history buff and actually (gasp!) learning from history and realizing that it does indeed repeat itself. Think about it. If you're here illegally, you're not filing tax returns. That is where the penalty for not having health insurance will come in--when you file your tax return. No health insurance and no tax return then there is no penalty and no problem. You're still going to get the same health care, at the most expensive place to receive it--the ER. Nothing will be different there. -

Sounds sooooooooo simple. You have to realize that people that are here ILLEGALLY don't care about being here LEGALLY. If they did, they would be. Why pay taxes when you get the services anyway? Jailing employers who hire ILLEGAL workers isn't the answer either. Fines don't stop it, what makes you think jail would? And besides some bleeding heart liberal would start a protest that an employer was actually checking legal status before hiring. It might be construed as "profiling" or disenfranchising to those here illegally, and heaven knows, we can't have THAT. They won -

Interesting. http://www.forbes.com/sites/theapothecary/2013/09/24/yes-obamacares-exchanges-will-narrow-your-choice-of-doctors-and-thats-a-good-thing/ Overall, Obamacare increases private insurance premiums. "Many insurers,” he writes, “are significantly limiting the choices of doctors and hospitals available to consumers” in the market. So, let's say this out loud so maybe we will start to realize the truth. Obamacare WILL increase some insurance premiums. Even for group plans through employers. and.... Just because you have health INSURANCE does not mean you will receive heal -
