I had seen Susan for years before realizing who she was. I'd been in the bookstore on occasion almost from day one. I finally introduced myself. I had known of LPPT for about 15 years and had met her once years ago before meeting her again AND INTRODUCING myself about a year ago. She didn't remember meeting me earlier, I'm sure. It was one of those super-quick meetings. I'd met Pubby at Main Street Sandwich Shoppe one day and even spoke to him. I'm sure he doesn't remember that, though. And my hubby and I have figured out we likely met at least twice before meeting again a c

We have met before though neither of us knew who the other was. To me you were one of the people in the bookstore and to you I was likely just another customer who was quiet and went for the Debbie Macomber books. I have all of two of her series. And we have mutual FB friends.

At my house, it was a mimosa. At my grandmother's, it was a magnolia. I tried climbing the magnolia at my other grandmother's house but it was too small. The first vehicle I drove was a tractor (not a lawn tractor but a garden tractor--the kind the pulls plows and harrows). I could shoot a rifle before I hit my 10th birthday. One year my dad bought me a football for my birthday because that's what I wanted. I own one pink item of clothing. It's the bridesmaids dress from my cousins wedding. In 1977. I think it was my first and last pink item of clothing.

The State Of Georgia Is Number One In Foreclosures

A sign my first accountant had in her office is very appropriate now. I loved the sign so much that several years later I hung it on the wall next to my desk. It read: poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine. -
I doubt my former employer had any of "that" kind of thoughts about me. I know I didn't about him. We were just simply friends. Most of my friends in high school were guys. I've always gotten along better with males because like Georgia Tornado said, I was (and still are) a tomboy. I would much rather be talking golf or baseball (my passion) than I had getting my nails done or heaven forbid SHOPPING at the mall. I had my fill of shopping all those times my mom dragged me from store to store to find what my sister needed. My sister is the kind of person who needs to pack a lunch to go

You're absolutely correct. You don't owe less money just because something you purchased has lost value. Just as you don't owe more because it has gained value. This concept has nothing to do with political integrity. -
I beg to differ. My former employer was truly a friend and JUST a friend. Of course, he was terrified of my husband. So JUST being friends with me was more than fine with him. He didn't like jealous husbands.

TP, ONE freakin' month out of the last five and a half YEARS. Give it a rest already!! Nevada held the dubious distinction of being the state with the highest number of foreclosures for FIVE YEARS AND TWO MONTHS!! In a row. Out of five years and five months, they had the top "honor" for five years and three months. Which bank(s) claim they didn't take the bailout money? It is my understanding that they were FORCED to take it by the Treasury. Forced to take it whether or not they needed...or wanted...it. Where in the hell is PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY and not obligating yourself -

Good point! I didn't look at it that way. However, the fact that they were corrupt AND got caught speaks volumes, to me at least. I guess maybe they were expecting a pass from the justice system that they didn't get. BTW, there were two other Illinois governors who were charged with crimes related to corruption who did not serve time as they were acquitted, so maybe they DID get the pass from the justice system. So, six out of eight Illinois governors since 1970 have been charged with corruption. I would think that having NONE charged because they did nothing would point to a LESS corrup -
Same here, except the cheating p.o.s exes as hubby's first wife didn't cheat on him and I have only been married the one time. I did however have two boyfriends who cheated. BOTH ended up marrying the girl they were cheating on--WITH ME!! One is still married, been married a long time. The other is probably on wife #4 or 5 by now. He couldn't keep his pants on and his hands OFF. And I'm not just talking about keeping hands off other women, if you get my drift. He was an abuser, so I'm sure he's had several marriages since the first one.

Yes, a man and a woman can be "just friends". I have a male friend who is JUST a friend. I've known him for over 40 years. We have a very honest and open relationship with each other as well. We are simply friends. In fact, I would think that if we had the opportunity to introduce each other to co-workers, neighbors or anyone else we would introduce the other as our OLD friend. Distance makes this difficult, as he lives 3 1/2 hours away. He happens to be my best friends brother. Also, even though we haven't seen or talked to each other in a couple of years, one of my former employ

A LITTLE underwater? I *had* a neighbor who got a mortgage of around $181,000 in 2006. Might have the mortgage paid down to $179,000 by now. His home is now worth MAYBE $80,000 on a good day. Likely not even that much on a good day. That's more than a "little" underwater. Heck of a nice guy, a hard working guy but wife lost her job and his hours got cut. He had been struggling to pay the mortgage for two years. But because he wasn't behind in his payments the bank wouldn't work with him to reduce anything. But even he will tell you, he made that contract and a contract is a contract -

I'm almost positive that an agency that has absolutely, positively nothing to do with banks, lending agencies and people paying their bills is behind the increase in foreclosure rates. You can bet on it. In Nevada, where the foreclosure rate has been the highest overall. From Bloomberg Business Week dated June 14, 2012: Nevada had a 62-month streak as the top state for foreclosures until Arizona knocked it from the top spot in March. Nevada reclaimed the title in April. And as you pointed out, Georgia topped it in May. But remember, Nevada was the top state in foreclosures for FI -

Actually, the Ethics Commission (not Committee) was renamed but is still around. As for foreclosures, it changes from month to month but that does not negate the fact that California is projected to be the worst state for foreclosures in 2012. Georgia has been anything from 7th to 1st in recent years, depending on the month. Nevada consistently is in the top 10 states, as is Florida (both allegedly more "ethical" states than Georgia). Foreclosures have less to do with ethics in government than it does stupid people granting mortgages to people who can't afford to pay them and people t -
Yep. As long as it hasn't been more than a year since the last inspection, it should still be good. We just got our tags and didn't even need the printed certificate. Or insurance cards.

And BTW, just so you know three states have a higher foreclosure rate than Georgia. 10--Wisconsin 9---Illinois (that ethical state) 8---Idaho 7---Michigan 6---Florida 5---Utah 4---Georgia 3---Arizona 2---California and #1---Nevada this is as of July 2011 per CNBC. Depending on the month, Georgia may be 6th, 4th or 1st. But California is projected to have the highest rate overall for 2012. Just the facts. -

AGAIN, let me state that Illinois has had FOUR governors who have been in prison for crimes related to corruption. This is since 1970. Two others were charged but not found guilty. And you want to claim that Illinois is a more ethical state with higher integrity than Georgia? I don't care what your liberal statistics say. Having SIX out of EIGHT governors charged or found guilty of corruption (fraud, racketeering, bribery, etc) either while they were in office or immediately afterwards should speak VOLUMES. Anything that states that Illinois is more ethical (in general) than Georgia is b -

   I DIDN'T bring up New Jersey. I've been to both New Jersey and Illinois and trust me, they aren't the same state. I just love "don't confuse me by stating facts" people. -

Yep, you owe the bank the difference between what the property sells for after foreclosure and what your loan amount is. That's how mortgages work. BUT what a lot of people don't know is if the loan is backed by Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD, etc. the bank can turn that property over to the the backing agency and get the FULL AMOUNT OF THE MORTGAGE. Then, whatever Fannie, Freddie, etc gets for it they get for it. Banks didn't care about the value of that house when you bought it as long as it was worth as much as you wanted to borrow to buy it. And it's often worth much, much less at -

TP, there are several states lower than Georgia when it comes to integrity. You KNOW that!! Get your facts straight. We've already discussed how Illinois has four governors or ex-governors who have gone to prison since the 1970s. NONE from Georgia. However Georgia ranks in anything else ethics-wise, I think the fact that a state that supposedly is more ethical and has more integrity than Georgia has FOUR governors who have gone to prison for corruption in four decades shows that the rating authority that you are using is flawed. Heck, TP, one Illinois governor tried to sell Obama's senat -
I will keep you in my prayers because dealing with DFCS or the SSA can surely try your sanity.
-
Never dealt with DFCS have you? I honestly believe those caseworkers are NOT there to help you. They are there to make sure nobody gets the help they need. They lose paperwork, not just once but time and time again. They don't "receive" faxes that are sent to their direct fax number. They make up stuff (yes, they DO make up stuff). They don't keep appointments (but woe until you if you fail to keep yours). As to the OPs question and issue about counting her boyfriends income as hers, I didn't see anything that said anything about "roommate" income. Spouse, yes. Parent, yes. In

I didn't think it was that difficult. Then again, I've argued round and round and round with incompetent and uninformed government employees before (IRS and Georgia DOR come to mind).

I understood the question. That's right. When we did have common law marriage here, and in states where they still have it, there has to be the INTENT to be married. You can't just shack up and be common law. That isn't what the law was intended to do--make you married when you didn't intend to be.
