As part of the fraud problem with Medicare, let me give you this example. I have a friend who lives in Columbus. She's a retired medical transcriptionist so she knows which doctors she goes to, when and for what. She got a statement from Medicare saying she had been to a urologist and that she had gotten a prescription for Viagra. Remember, this is a SHE and a 70-something year old SHE at that. She called the office that the claim was for and they verified that she had not been seen by them, which she knew already. She called the office in the building that she did go to and verified tha

Yep, the government can't run Medicare or Medicaid NOW and the IRS is just about as bad. What makes anyone think it will be better THIS time?

Maybe it's the heat and the fact that my hubby hasn't been out of the house in two days making me cranky but honestly why should I care about Anderson Cooper being gay? Or Tom and Katie divorcing (yeah, couldn't see that one coming either, huh)? Or what Rupert Murdock thinks about the election? Does what these people do and say put food on my table, pay my bills, help me keep my sanity? :nea: I didn't think so. Sorry, but I AM cranky because like I said, my hubby hasn't been out of the house in two days (and neither have I). Going to change that for me and head to a blood drive.

Glad to hear he wasn't the fatality. Again, since the accident was last night, it might take a day or two to get information from the state patrol. They may still be investigating. Keep us updated on your brother's progress.
-
I'm confused. You are saying your brother was involved. Are you saying that the family can't get any details or that HE can't get any details? As an involved party, he should be able to get details unless he was the fatality. In which case, not only do you have my sympathy but you have my prayers for a fast resolution. Since the accident was just last night and there was a fatality, it may be a couple of days before there are any reports to obtain. Have you contacted the state patrol? OP said just over the Douglas County line, so it would be 61 South.

Yes to the central air and no to the shade. We do have double pane insulated windows and double wrapped the house (cedar with insulation then foam then thick vinyl siding over that). Neither of us grew up with air conditioning (in Georgia) and don't mind the heat. We actually don't like the air. We run it this time of year because we have to. We get uncomfortably sticky if we don't. I'm prone to skin problems, so to keep it cool is a necessity. Normally, ceiling fans are all we use unless the outside temp gets up around 93.

I was wondering how any of them got to be so high. Our house is about 1800 sq ft, total electric. We have at least one computer going all the time, a plasma TV, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washer, dryer and we run ceiling fans in whatever room we're in. I have a small fan running right now next to me, along with the ceilng fans in the kitchen and living room. We also have an outside light that is on from dusk to dawn. I don't think we could possibly have even a $300 light bill much less a $500 or $600 one. When we had three kids at home it was rare that we went over $100 a month an

Daughter's house has budget billing with Ga Power. It runs something like $155 a month. That will look real good this month!

I know a lot of people who love the BBQ. I've never eaten there, as I prefer to eat at Wallace BBQ in Austell but I think former member knows what she is talking about. And why anyone would think Briar Patch is the bomb is beyond my comprehension.
-
Apparently so. My house is about half that size. We don't mind it being warm. We don't generally turn on the air until it's over 90 outside unless it's really humid. We didn't turn it on Friday until around 3.

Mine hasn't come yet but I expect it to be around $80. I LOVE Greystone's rates.

I might not get any more either.

You said it, not me!! So, it's YOU she will kill instead of me. That's OK, she knows I love her!! She's my bud.

I gotta ask. Which character is LPPT?

Can't help you on a Paulding County vet or dentist but highly recommend Dr. Goolsby at East Paulding Primary Care.

Thankfully, I've never had to worry about losing my job if I disagreed with the boss or if they didn't like my opinion or my expressing that opinion. A former employer gave me a nickname. He nicknamed me Florence for the maid on "The Jeffersons". He said I was just like her. Opinionated and not afraid to share my opinion.

Nothing that could be used in a court of law anyway.

In our case, we KNEW the water delivery company lied. Either the rep made up the fact that the delivery guy came to the door and we were closed or the delivery guy lied and said we were closed. It was April 14 for heaven's sake!! Someone was there until around midnight. And like I said, the 30 minutes we were out of the office, we all sat where we had a view of the door! He NEVER came. Never. You're right, you do customer service with a smile. And it SHOULD be the customer is always right. Besides, in your case, you weren't trying to get something for free. You were just trying

One of the water delivery companies failed to deliver our water at the office one day. My boss called and talked to them about it. Said the delivery guy told them he came to our door but we were closed. We were a tax prep office. It was April 14. Not only that, the 30 minutes or so we were out of the office for lunch, we were across the street and have full view of the office. AND saw the water delivery truck in town. He never once set foot in front of our office. NEVER. They also became our FORMER water delivery company.

A savvy employer won't fire you on the basis of what you said at a political rally or for giving your opinion. They also won't refuse to hire you based on your age. They WILL fire you for giving your opinion on politics or any other subject if it doesn't mesh with theirs and they WILL refuse to hire you if you're "too old". Other reasons will be given to PROTECT them! My statement was meant to say that only a liberal would think someone can't be fired for voicing their opinion. A realist knows that they can but that won't be the reason given. I agree. It IS the right thing to

If it turns political, I won't be attending. If I'm approached by more than one or two politicians asking for my vote, I will leave. I'm going to be there to meet my fellow Pcommers not to be part of an election campaign. After all, I DON'T live in Paulding nor do I live in any district that would have anyone there. I totally avoid community events during election years for the very reason that most of the communities that have events I don't vote there. For example, Powder Springs has fireworks on the fourth. I don't go. I don't live IN Powder Springs so I don't want to be harassed for
-
sure they can. The reason given won't be those but you CAN be fired for what you do. Only a liberal would think otherwise.

Yep, I believe everything I read.
