That's a pretty steep hill. He may have lost control. Definitely nowhere for him to make a left turn there.

It infuriates me that there are plans to add at least one, if not two, more truck lanes in that area. There is enough truck traffic through there as it is. And they drive like they own the road. I avoid that area whenever possible. I'll go through Lithia Springs and then out Blairs Bridge Rd in order to avoid I-20 and Thornton. So sad. Prayers for all involved.

A lot of them do. I generally use the part of my e-mail address before the @. And almost all of my e-mail addressed are the same before the @. I'm like Kim404. If it requires a special character or more characters than my standard password, I add numbers or symbols to it. It might not be the most secure way of doing it, but the sites where I need greater security--my bank for instance--gets something totally different. And generally a different username and e-mail associated with it.

This really didn't surprise me. But keep GENTLY prodding her. It is up to her to seek help, though. She may be afraid of what the doctor will say, too. Then again, she may have already gotten a diagnosis that you don't know about.

what about using Windows Calendar? I think that may be what Pubby is referring to.

Yes, and do you know WHY it is hard to come by? Government regulation. I have been told that people get healthcare using fake insurance information. That is the primary reason behind the need to show photo ID at the doctor's office and hospital now. You can't stop ALL forms of fraud. You can limit it.

After 20 years, one gets tired of trying when the person they are trying to help won't admit to a problem. It's like beating your head against the wall and expecting the wall to move. After a while it becomes a problem to the person who is trying to help. Been there, done that myself. **I** almost ended up with a breakdown trying to deal with a person who had problems and refused help. Sounds like you and I know the same person.

A lot of the "healthcare" jobs that aren't in direct patient care already are located in other countries. Medical transcription for instance. It has been outsourced to companies in India for years. Lab work is outsourced. Reading xrays and related imaging studies has been outsourced for years. Billing is done overseas. Oh, yeah, and the federal, state and local governments outsource their work to foreign countries as well. The sad thing about the fallout from this healthcare law is there will be more jobs sent overseas. Company X may "create" 5,000 new jobs but 4,999 of them wi

They refused any and all help. Refuse to go to counseling. Refuse to take meds. Refuse to acknowledge they have a problem and blame others saying THEY have the problem. Has anyone asked them what they believe would help? Yeppers. Lots of times. Since they don't believe they have a problem, they don't believe there is anything to treat. One can listen to a depressed person until the cows come home and try to help them but if the person with the problem does not acknowledge there IS a problem, you're wasting your time.

But Laurie, that is EXACTLY what the healthcare law does--it requires people to pay for health insurance. It ISN'T the American way to force people to buy products. It's unconstitutional. And yes, the Supreme Court ruled it was unconstitutional. There is PLENTY of health care for everyone. Why would anyone think there isn't? There are free clinics, reduced fee/sliding scale clinics, doctors and hospitals will work with you if you don't have health insurance. One does NOT need expensive health insurance in order to get health care. It certainly helps but it's not required. Afte

LPPT, if my doctor's office had their way, I would be on cholesterol reducing drugs and diabetic drugs TODAY. I'd probably also be dead in less than a year because I have liver disease and most of the drugs used to reduce cholesterol or blood sugar harm your liver. As it is, I'm healthier NOT on those drugs. BTW, I'm also not diabetic though my cholesterol was slightly elevated on my last test, certainly nothing that requires medication. I'm still at "average risk" of developing coronary disease. But my doctor's office wants me on meds. Why is that? I don't need them. Is it to create j

Do we REALLY need more government jobs? I think not. We need more private sector jobs and quite honestly Obamacare won't provide that. I guess maybe all those displaced workers who are let go because companies try to get their number of employees down to 49 or fewer can get those newly created jobs. Job creation is a joke anyway. You can't create something from nothing. You CAN have job openings, though.

Bottom line is this: no matter how much you want to help her, it has to be HER who gets the help. In that respect, it is no different than alcoholism or drug addiction. It has to be the person who has the problem working to solve the problem. I know someone who has...well, a lot of disorders not the least of which is untreated depression. They REFUSE help and have made life miserable for their family. They have refused help to the point that their marriage is ending. Nobody else can do it for them. Don't get offended if she gets mad at you for trying to help her. But also don't l

In many ways, mental illness still has a stigma attached to it. My family has diagnoses that look like a psychiatric textbook--schizophrenia, schizo-affective disorder, paranoia, general anxiety disease, social anxiety disorder, bipolar, panic attacks, agoraphobia, depression. That pretty much sums up just TWO family members. Thankfully everyone in my family who has any kind of mental illness has gotten help. I am happy to see my family not attach a stigma to the others in the family who have mental illness. Others, however, do. It's a shame that mental illness can't be talked about

I, my hubby and my daughter were all told that once you get to the point you require prescription antidepressants you can NEVER use St Johns and get any help from it. I know for a cold hard fact that is not true. Hubby and I take St Johns every day and haven't found we need to "graduate" to prescription meds. I can definitely tell when I haven't taken it. I had to stop three times since I've been on it, each time in preparation for surgery, and couldn't wait for my surgery day to come so I could get back on it. I was MISERABLE starting about the fourth day after stopping it. Back to the

Why? What they said is true.

We fell behind years ago but worked diligently to get the mortgage caught up. We did, thanks to my mom's help, and ended up paying it off years and years early. I know exactly what your husband is talking about. I've heard "we filled the job" for the 19th time now. I'm tired of it. I know it means I'm too old and I'm too qualified (I'm sure having a limp from knee arthritis doesn't help). We, too, have eliminated things we don't need and have cut back. We live on my meager earnings from self-employment and my hubby's SSDI. Much, much less than we were used to. And to top it

Any business that loans money to someone and then that person does not repay, YES that business is justified in doing whatever their agreement says to collect. Georgia representatives are not the ones foreclosing. The lenders are! BTW, Georgia topped foreclosures ONE freakin' month out of the past five and a half YEARS. Get over it! Not just Georgia citizens need severe training in family values, the whole country does. Somehow it has become OK to skip out on your debt.

In all my years on Pcom, I have only had one person on ignore. I don't believe they are around here any longer either. Yes, I think you're special. But hey, I disagree with my husband a lot, too.

Yep, too much to expect someone to pay their bills. Blame it on the government. NOW where are the family values? Not paying your bills to the point you lose your house?

It may just have hit her that her son will be leaving the nest soon. But help her get help!
