I Can't Wait to See the prices of Insurance

Me, too. And I suspect it has nothing to do with the government shut down. I suspect it would have been that way regardless. -
Not sure but that may be one of the forums that you have to be a paid member in order to post. You should be able to post to the yard sale grab bag, though.

Georgia Does Not Have The Highest Vehicle Ownership Cost In The USA
Mama Carol replied to macarose's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Obviously you've never been to a couple of them. There's plenty wrong with them and it's not just the SOBs running them. One of those states in particular is always 49 or 50 on the list of states as far as education goes. Another is always #50 in integrity in politics. One has lousy roads. One is very poor. And two of those are the same state I might add! -

Yep, just a couple of states west of Georgia. -
She married you, didn't she??? You knew I'd have to say that, right??? I know what you mean. I had played probably 25 or 30 games with my niece before I found out it was her husband I was playing against. Most of the time. I kept wondering why my messages weren't ever answered. He'd read them but not tell her I'd messaged her.

My daughter and son in law paid about $160 for their tag & registration. They bought from an individual. -

Who cares what the scotch is made of? Will that change anything? And again, if you're so unhappy with Georgia, move! You'll be much happier elsewhere. I sure am. -

If you see nothing spectacular about Georgia, LEAVE. But please for God's sake, don't come to Florida. -
The whole reason I joined FB was to stay in touch with a nephew in Afghanistan. And strangely enough, he's the one I hear from the least now. But every now and then I do hear from him. You only have to share as much as you're comfortable with and only who you're comfortable sharing it with. I have friends on there who probably wonder about me because they see NOTHING that I post except my profile picture.

Might want to actually talk to vehicle owners in other states instead of reading crap. Has anyone questioned the $1,952 that Bankrate.com gave for taxes/fees on Georgia car ownership? I've NEVER seen any that high. I have to question that big time. I also have to question the amount they gave for Florida because that does not jive with what Florida Department of Revenue says. And they give this disclaimer: For every state, Bankrate determined total car-ownership costs using median insurance premiums provided by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, for 2006 to 2010; a -
And I'd be yours (and InLa's friend).

2009 Kia Optima. But it would have been the same had it been a Mercedes Benz, Porsche or Lamborghini. It's a flat fee here. I got back about 80 cents from $400. So, it cost us $800 minus a dollar or so to register two vehicles here. But next year, we will be able to do it for roughly $40 each. Unless we trade in a vehicle. Florida may not have a personal income tax but they sure find ways to get your money. Our carry permits are going to $112 EACH. Our drivers licenses were around $65 each. We need new windows in the house. They have inspection and permitting fees for that. No -
I would!! If I knew how to find you on FB.

In order to get the exemption if you're "older" you also have to drive under a certain number of miles per year. I can't remember what it is, but it's pretty low. My mom was exempt from emission inspections because of it. -

We paid just a few cents under $400 to register a 4 year old car here in Florida. It was pretty much the same thing for the 5 year old truck. Then there is insurance. It costs more to insure two vehicles here than it did to insure three in Georgia. Our gas tax is higher. On the flip side of the gas tax being higher, we live in town and everything except downtown Pensacola is within 2 or 3 miles of the house. I don't even remember the last time I bought gas. Must have been right after my husband made a trip to Powder Springs and brought the car back with about 1/4 tank. That was ov -
The thing of it is, e-mail is the only way my brother and I communicate. Once in a while he actually e-mails me, so I don't want all of his stuff to go to the trash or spam folders. I just wish he understood that I'm not interested in all that forwarded stuff.
-
I only have one friend who posts a lot about politics. I generally just hide those posts. Another friend posts political stuff occasionally. I just hide that, too. Now if I could figure out how to stop my brother from sending me every anti-Muslim, anti-Obama, anti-Democrat e-mail he has ever been forwarded, I'd be a lot happier. And the trash bin on my e-mail program would be a lot emptier.

Not OK to find out by reading the paper either. I do try to mix it up a bit. But you won't see ME in any of those. I love taking pictures. I HATE having my picture taken. And thank you!!

We found out about my husband's brothers death by reading the obituaries at breakfast. IOW, if you find out by some method other than a phone call or visit from someone in the family, you aren't too darn close to the deceased. Not as close as you thought, anyway.

I've done the same thing and I'm sure there are a lot of my FB friends who wonder where I am because they NEVER see a post I make.

Even with the electronic medical record there is still paper generated, by the reams. Just not quite as much as there would be otherwise. And I'm old school. I want a paper copy of anything, especially bills. I tend to forget about bills that come electronically and not in the mail.

I totally agree. I have one FB friend who has a completely different political view than I do. I still think the world of this friend and don't want to unfriend them because of our opposing political views. I do enjoy hearing about their family. But I read what they post (most of the time) and then hide it. I don't make a federal case out of it or want THEM to change what they post. It's their page!

I've been on FB since April or May of 2009. For two days out of that entire time I've had a picture of me as my profile pic because one of my friends who I had not seen in 26 years asked that I put one up. I change my picture regularly. Right now it's a running vine with a pink flower. It was a pelican earlier in the week and a feather at the beginning of the week. I'd rather someone change their picture occasionally. I get tired of looking at the same "generic" picture all the time. If you don't know what I look like, my profile picture isn't going to help you.

I've only seen one "paperless" office. Instead of 4 drawer file cabinets for each year of tax information, they had one 4 drawer file cabinet that held about 2 years information. So much for paperless. Maybe "less paper" but certainly not "paperless".

I loved my Pavilion. Best computer I ever owned. You can't go wrong with an HP.
