That would be awful!!! I hate to hear that.

Dang...and I live off Ridge Road.

I would like to respond to the highlighted part of your thread (good thread, BTW). There are so many applications involved in how we use the internet. Most people's email, FB, etc. goes to their phone. Well, that's something I just do NOT want. I see it consume people too much, and especially throw people's focus off from what they are doing....such as a young man working at Jiffy Lube, who just drained all the oil out of a car for an oil change. He pulls the plug, drains the oil out and gets the filter screwed on. Lowers the car, then he gets a call or FB or email on his cell phone. Then

I went to comcast the other day to look into upgrading. I was told that HD is standard now, and it not an "additional" option. It's included in the package price of any package that includes the box.

Don't ya just love it when I start these kinds of threads! Yall be careful out there!!! -
OMG!!! I had to run mowers all over the place today, and I seriously lost track of how many idiot drivers were on the road. I did, however, keep track of how many close calls I saw today....a WHOPPING 18!!!! People were driving with their heads so far up their butts it was just incredulous to watch!! I kept my distance from everyone I was behind today, and that alone probably saved my butt at least 5 of the 18 times someone did stupid stuff. Was their something in the air today??? Anyone else notice this today. My runs spanned from South Paulding all the way to Braswell Mtn. Road...basically 8

We've come across a few more riding mowers this past week that have more design flaws. Namely, the drive belts (or motion belts). These are the belts that make the mower itself move. Most times people think their transmission is busted, when that is almost never the case. Having said that, we have encountered a design flaw with a few models that have apparently forgotten to include "keepers" around the belts. When the belts jump off, either the belt gets ruined, or the fan on the trans gets ripped up, or BOTH. If you are having this problem, give us a call. We have a perfect fix for this p

Are the unemployed lazy or are employers too cheap?

Thank you. So far, I have decided to not hire anyone else. It's just me and my partner, and probably will be for a while. Between the two of us, we crank as much work as a shop with 6-7 people working there. Plus, I don't have to worry about quality control, keeping all work within the two of us. -

I know where you're coming from, but I also remember working with lazy people all of my life....even way back when. Having said that, I have seen a major shift in how things work ever since our economy went global and we downgraded our nation to the same level as many third world countries- which was easy for corporations to do, since they could hire people who would work for almost nothing, and in the process, told the American workers to take a hike. I remember when companies paid you according to your value and performance. When a business no longer bases its employee's pay on their perform -

I'm still struggling, but at least I'm finally making some dents in my debt. If I gave credit to anything that helped me get through so much, it would have to be that I have always been ADHD. Since there wasn't a name for it, or medication that I knew of, I wouldn't be the same person today. Back in my school days, I dealt with my hyperactivity by reading everything I could get my hands on, tearing radios, cars, anything I could get my hands on, apart and studying them. I stayed in trouble from talking too much, but that helped too. because some of my teachers would make me sit next to their d -
So far, I have 3 people to go check out....the deal is this, for $5, I will come assess your mower problems, give you a pretty accurate figure on the cost, then set up a time to either fix it on the spot or take it to the shop if major repairs are needed. The $5 special is only on Wednesday though, so call me while I'm out tomorrow!! Should you decide to have your mower repaired wither in shop or on site, the $5 assessment will be waived. This special will be ongoing every Wednesday of the week until further notice, so please take advantage of it!! PLEASE email me at glennsmowerrepair

I was the same way for a LONG time until I noticed that some sites I use for business will not work with FF, since the latest version came out. In my haste to rectify the situation I also noticed that IE had finally gotten the bugs out of its system, so I defaulted everything to IE. Not to mention FF always had problems displaying my web site pages correctly. I can finally say that IE has finally superseded the other browsers I was using. and...may I also say, it's about freaking time!!! I hated IE for at least 4 years, maybe 5.

It did get a bit nipply out last night! Goooooooood Morning, PCOM!!!! Just finished networking my music studio, so I will not be awake until noon today!! It was a real tick-me-off night with computer squabbles and so forth, but all is well now, and I'm going to bed. I'm a second shift kinda guy! But after about 5 hours I finally built the PERFECT music recording computer, integrated it with my studio to record some music with the famous Dicky of 404, Steve Stone from A.R.S., and some other amazing artists. So, maybe you can better understand why I am still up and haven't slept yet. (Heck

Different browsers also make a difference. I used to be a Firefox fan, but the newer versions suck. Since IE got its act back together I went back to them.

Without trying to fly in the face of free market economics, I do somewhat agree with you. It is a fact that a business owner's goal is to make as good a profit as he can. I also believe the owner should abide by certain ethics- not lying to employees, treating them fairly, etc. But, I also know this- if the owner screws over his employees it WILL trickle down to the consumer and said company will get a bad reputation. Building a good rep is like working out and building your muscles...takes a long time to build them, but a very short time to lose them, once you slack off. I am referring to sma -

Degree's don't mean squat in my business. Heck they didn't mean much when I was in civil engineering either. Being a mechanic or an engineer is akin to being a good musician- you either "have it" or you don't. Passing tests in class do not impress me at all. SHOWING me that you know your stuff is all I care about. And btw, although my business is starting to fly off the charts, I have vowed to NOT hire anyone else, no matter how busy we get. My bizz consists of me and my partner- 2 life long friends and professional mechanics. I can't afford to make mistakes, and mistakes are something I w -

This is not only true, but it has become the norm for most Americn businesses. That's why good customer service and competence no longer exists in the American market. I say let the jack-asses who make those decisions run the business right into the ground. It's too bad that corporate protection allows them to just walk away scott free. They advise hiring idiots and ruin the business, but not until they have lined their pockets on the way out...usually to do the same thing to another company. Here's an example- I have to deal with certain Auto Parts stores on a daily basis. In doing so, I -
I must say that I admire former member's stalwart determination to find some sort of positive article, although the facts in real life don't even come close to the reflection. Article this, article that, bla, bla bla..... The proof will remain in the pudding, and the pudding I see with my OWN eyes, and not something parroted by some columnist who has the perfect blind eyes, will remain the compass I will continue to use to let me know just how much harder I need to work to keep a roof over my head.

We all need to gripe once in a while. The biggest problem I have encountered is with my own family, namely my kids. They constantly worry about me because I don't stop working until about 3 a.m. or so. My health is perfect, and when I finally lie down I sleep very well. I'm one of those people who feel like crap if I get over 6 hours of sleep a night. This past winter there was NO WORK at all, and I was losing my mind and had to take sleep meds to sleep. Now that work is booming I sleep like a baby with NO MEDS, and best of all, no hangover that came with taking sleep meds. I hate that crap, -

While I didn't take time to vote, I do have a comment. I have tried to explain this to more than 4 friends of mine in the past 3 months....the conversation starts with them complaining about how little a job pays, although the job offers PLENTY of hours. This includes overtime, only without the time and a half pay to boot. I have talked till I'm blue in the face trying to make them understand- "Things are not what they used to be!!" They should expect to work twice as hard and get less on the hour than they were used to. This is a FACT. While some people will continue to gripe about it, I'm gl -
