  1. I go out of town every Christmas just so I don't have to put up a tree. Yes, call me Scrooge, Grinch or whatever you want. I love the holiday, I love gift giving, I love to wrap gifts and I love the music...but I HATE DECORATING! I enjoy looking at other people's decorations...all the houses with the pretty lights delight me...but I hate doing that stuff....so I don't. If I had a tree, it would be a little pre-lit 3-footer with just a few special ornaments wired permanently on it. Then after Christmas I would just put a plastic bag over the whole thing and put it in the garage til next year.

  2. Oh my goodness! it's for real? I thought it was a joke! I remember watching that movie when I was a kid and being scared to death.

HEY popping back in to say, YES, that is for real and I saw it in Walmart. The birds on her head, shoulder and hip are all plastic birds actually attached to the doll. The other birds are printed on the package. Clearly I was so shocked and amazed by this bizarre product that I felt compelled to take a picture...I don't usually go around taking pictures of merchandise! LOL Here's a link to the 'toy' from Amazon.com.

Incidentally, it was much cheaper at Walmart. :D

  4. He is a beautiful dog.He will probably go fast.Good luck.

He's been at the shelter since June 1. That's more than 3 weeks.

Please contact Mush Rescue the gentlman's name is Randi Estep. He is wonderful and really does his best!!!!

Randy Estep and I actually work for the same company, and I've already sent him the video. He feels the dog isn't pure, and his rescue is full so he will not take him.

  5. I shot a video of Storm, a "talking" husky on Sunday June 22 at the Paulding Animal Shelter. I thought it was funny...but after watching it like 10 times, it's not funny anymore. :(

Storm was picked up stray on June 1, and he's still at the shelter waiting for a home. At first, when i say 'Hello!" he seems to reply with "Hello!" but the amazing and sad part is waht he says very clearly at the end of the video, stating exactly what he wants. Click on the link, then select "View Video." Listen with your ears and with your heart. He's a really sweet dog. He needs to be rescued fast, as he's way beyond his 'date.'

  6. I saw that one when I was up there the other day  but saw the "chow" label and got skert.

That is sad...it's a total guess on the part of the person taking in the dog! If they had 'guessed' Golden Retriever, would it have made a difference? He has the golden personality!

    Here are chow chow puppies...

    Here are golden puppies

You decide...does he look like a chow chow to you?

  7. We always had small dogs growing up, so I was nervous about getting our "fatboy" golden retriever. However, he has been so much fun for the kids, and I can't imagine having another little ankle biter after him.

I wholeheartedly recommend any kind of golden retriever. Our dog is so laid back, intelligent (when he wants to be), and so sweet to the kids.

    I couldn't agree more!

FYI...shelter employees tend to 'tag' any fluffy blonde -to- red puppy "chow" which does no favor for the puppy. Here is one that I handled yesterday...he is an awesome little guy, labeled 'chow' and could very well have some chow in him...but when you're dealing with shelter mix pups, there is no way of knowing what they're mixed with! This little guy looks like a golden puppy to me. He was SOO SWEET! I gave him a bath and trimmed his nails, and he's all ready to go home now! They let me name him...I called him "Jesse" so go check him out! Pics below.

  8. If anyone out there has room in their home for just ONE MORE....what's one more kitten when you already have pets? It would help SO MUCH. Its too late for the ones that went down today...but it's not too late for the ones that are marked for Wednesday. More litters are arriving today, and more kittens will die on Wednesday.

Search your hearts...don't you have room for JUST ONE MORE?

  9. Great photo of HIM...what is UP with that thing around his wife's neck....is that a necklace or a brace????

yeah, and what's with her HAND? Are we sure she's always been female?

  10. I give glucosamine w/ condroitin and MSM to my golden (who is only 7 but extra large and already showing signs of hip problems). I take the same thing myself for my knees! Every morning I take two and he takes one. It helps him and hopefully will prevent or slow down any progression of the problem.

  11. WELL, being a Gemini, I'd have to say that this is highly accurate except ...

    GEMINI - The Chatterbox ( May 21 - June 20)

Smart and witty. Outgoing, very chatty. Lively, energetic. Adaptable

But need to express themselves. Argumentative and outspoken. Like

Change. Versatile. Busy, sometimes nervous and tense. Gossips. May

Seem superficial or inconsistent. Beautiful physically and mentally.

I despise gossip and do not indulge in it. Also I am nowhere near superficial.

Beautiful? WELL that too is subjective. :D :D

  12. When I talk my hubby in buying me a dog or dogs. I'm going to name them rolex and timex. They are gonna be my wacth dogs.

    That's FUNNY!!!

I have two golden retrievers, Sonny (AKA Shunburr, Mr. Purdue  & Big Bu-u-u-udy) and Madison (AKA Maddy, Medicine, Naughty Girl) ; a boxer/hound mix named Bruno (AKA Brutus, Brewsky, Bruiser, Broseph), a siamese mix named Bonnie Blue Butler and a himalayan mix named Tara O'Hara (AKA Darn you!). We originally adopted Tara's sister kitty and named her Scarlett O'Hara, and we had one male cat named "Rhett Butler" but my daughter Sara took Scarlett and renamed her "Jasmine." "Rhett Butler" went with the ex when we broke up. :p

All rescued from the shelter except Sonny.

I always thought 'Hoover' would be a good name for a dog b/c they suck up every crumb that falls. I also imagine a Rotti or Doby or German Shepherd named "Brinks." That would be cool. B)

ETA: I have daughters named Sara & Mandi and pets named Tara & Maddy. What was I thinking? LOL

  13. Do you have an 'oh-so-sweet' picture of your pets snuggling? If you do, share it! We all love cute pet pictures.

Here's a picture I took on Sunday of my cat Bonnie snuggling up to my dog Sonny on the kitchen floor. It was too cute! I'm glad I was there to 'capture the moment.' :D

  14. I am not a regular poster here and I know I may get frowned on for this post but....

Being in rescue, please incourage the owners that this be the first and "LAST" litter for this momma. There are so many of these oh so cute babies in shelters in Georiga and big possibilities that one of these very ones will end up there too sooner or later. Shelters put down pups just as often as they do adult dogs. Its a shame to think anyone would take a puppy and then decide not to keep it but just take a trip to the local animal control and you will see many faces there, just as cute as these that people abandon day in and day out at our local Georgia Shelters. That is if they are even lucky enough to be taken to shelters, many are just abandoned on the street.

DITTO! DITTO! I SECOND THIS STATEMENT...PLEASE encourage the owners to have their dog spayed, as well as the puppy they keep. There are lots of low cost spay/neuter resources available if they need help with this. :D

  15. Looks like we will need help from our sister site cobb.com on the remainder of the hunt! B)

WELL I'm from Paulding County, and so was the 'front woman.' The eduactor tag didn't have a county sticker on it that I can recall.

I think a lot of us who work in the northeast metro area go that way to avoid the 20-to-285 mess.

  16. what road, what time??

Intersection of Hurt Rd and Concord Road, turning Left on Concord at around 8:30am.

Keep in mind that anyone can purchase the education tag. If they are a teacher, it reads "educator". If they are not a teacher, it reads "support education".

It said EDUCATOR. That was what I was looking at as she slowed down, instead of the tag number. Silly me
