Are pet owners responsible for damage to others' property?
Mariposa replied to November Rain's topic in RECENT TOPICS
This is a little off topic. I agree that it is the dog owner's responsibility for damages done, unless the driver contributed to the accident by some type of recklessness such as speeding through a neighborhood, distracted by texting, etc. Then, responsibility should be shared. I also acknowledge that too many dog owners let their dogs run free. However, some dogs are escape artists or unusual circumstances do happen. Sometimes even with responsible dog owners, a dog can get loose from the owner. My dog, who was in a new fence, kept figuring out ways to get out. It took a while to "escape -
Anyone been to Snow Mountain at Stone Mountain?
Mariposa replied to bookreader's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Scaly Mountain is a long drive. If you're going that far, go on over to Maggie Valley. Not much further and MUCH better. -
Both Bickford and Shirley at Distinctive Dentistry are great. Dr. Lee is great, too

Yes, a six day blizzard is not exactly an every winter event for DC and it caused problems for them. I believe this is our biggest snow fall in at least 15 years---also a very unusual event--and it causes driving problems for us. I don't think we are in disagreement over this.

In those other states they drive on it DAILY and not just in a blue moon...they're used to it.... we're not...thus the reason that we have a hard time with it....just saying! (Hint:people who live in areas who get snow/ice often are used to driving on it, people who do not get snow/ice often are not used to driving on it) PS: In DC and NY, when they got more snow than their equipment could clear this week, were not able to safely drive on the roads and things shut down...just saying

I'll stop whining. You're right, it is easier to second guess than be the one to make the decisions. I think it would have been better to leave earlier and have it planned in advance, but I am glad that no injuries have been reported. Thank you bus drivers for a great job.

I just wanted to see what everyone thinks. My opinion is that it was too late. Some middle school buses didn't load until after 3:30, which is regular time, when some roads were already bad. They also made an automatic call to parents at about noon that schools were not closing early. It just seems to me that they could see what was happening to the west, what kind of weather was coming, and planned a little more in advance. They should have given parents more notice and not mixed messages. What do you think?

I was nervous driving in it and I'm not a new driver

Just don't go to the bathroom until the ice melts.

Oil of Olay Regenerist works great for me, I think there is make-up remover too. I usually use baby wipes to remove makeup at night and then wash my face with a gentle face cleanser in the shower in the morning.

Could I buy fresh eggs from you or trade a donation to the food bank in exchange for a carton of eggs?

I saw it last night in 3-D. It was amazing to watch. Just like others have said, it will never be the same on TV. The story itself is just ok. The story-line is a repeat of many other movies. I knew what was going to happen within the first 19 minutes of the movie. Its very new agey -- nature, mother-earth, reincarnation, all energy flows together. Except, of course, its not mother-earth, its the nature mother of that planet. It reminded me a lot of the old Fern Gully animated movie but James Cameron decided to kick it up with a little of the Aliens movie--and even threw in Sigourney Wea

OH OK, I was just trying to be reassuring. I wouldn't want someone hunting in my back yard. I don't want my dog's head mounted on someone's wall

We actually did have a blueberry pie, but not a normal Thanksgiving tradition. It was just on sale Saturday at the store. Frozen section--Mrs. Smith's---good stuff : )...and pumpkin and pecan

Its on a road off of Marshall Fuller...not in your back yard. There are other large land lots adjoining this land...not many houses around.

BOIL ADVISORY LIFTED FOR PAULDING COUNTY
Mariposa replied to cornyGirl's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Ok maybe I am paranoid, but the water never empties completely. If part of its contaminated, then wouldn't all of it be somewhat contaminated--germs do multiply. Does the hot water heater get hot enough to kill the germs? I wouldn't think so since it isn't boiling. I don't know what the solution is because its not like you can take the top off and scrub it out. I normally don't cook with hot water or drink it, but I do use it to wash vegetables and dishes. ????? -
I never got anything from there that I didn't like. I only went through the drive thru, and the service was a little slow, but not any worse than Zaxby's or other restaurants that aren't exactly fast food (McD's,KFC, etc) I'm sad to see it go. No more quickie flan.

Does anyone know what we do about the water in our hot water heaters? Isn't it still contaminated?
