  1. I'm going to get blasted for this one but.... I'm not sure how much I support UGA this year. They've had at least 9 players in trouble so far. The problem seems to go to the top given the behavior of the former athletic director. I would rather they lose for a while and field a team I can be proud of rather than play a bunch of immature, out of control thugs. I gave up on the NFL with incidents like Vick and Rothlesburger (sp?). I want UGA to have higher standard. I am a UGA grad. and a life-long UGA football fan, in good times and bad.
  2. Tell her to eat them like you are taking a pill. Take a drink of something and hold it in your mouth, tilt your head back, drop the pea (English Pea in my case) in the back so it never touches anything but the liquid, and swallow...no pea taste
  3. I do that too except I hold my breath and I don't always start counting at 1...it just sort of starts in my head.
  4. I have a good one to share at our next IEP. At lunch, I walked by as one of my ESEP students was eating a twinkie. I made a comment that it looked good and went and sat down at my table. About a minute later, he was up at my side handing me the second one from the pack...germy hands and all I ate it because it was such a sweet gesture. Some times the get to me in bad ways and some times in good ways.
  5. Yes they do!!! Darn I NEED chocolate, now.
  6. I know some have had major ethical issues, but there are SOME local Rep. who have not had issues. I've never heard anything questionable about Howard Maxwell.
  7. I'm looking into exit options as well. My family has been here since the original land lottery when the county was established. I'd have to look to count back, but I'm at least the 6th generation in the county, and probably the last. Sad
  8. There is another thread on school vent about this. Only about 36 systems out of 180+ in GA actually opted to do it. I agree with the decision to opt out.
  9. As God is my witness, I will never have carpet again! (picture me with a scrap of shag in my fist shaking it in the air Scarlett O'hara style) Hardwoods if it is only a choice between the two, but I think laminate is more practical. I can't think of the name, but the large building directly across from the new court house did mine for a reasonable price.
  10. I didn't even know that existed. Thanks
  11. I posted earlier about a neighbor letting pit bulls run loose in the neighborhood. Its gone. I looked on 4 legged friendzy and its not been moved.
  12. Tax payers paid for it. I could care less who gets in it, but that water has to be dirty. Maybe we could do a bubble mountain like the one in another state this week.
  13. I think about it every time there's a report of a bear in Paulding or another residential area of Atlanta. Remember when the bear was running loose in Dallas, they interviewed some guy hunting for it, and based on his redneckness, he replaced Junior Samples on Hee Haw I was a little kid, but I remember my grandmother talking about it.
  14. Maybe he's really clumsy and bumps his head a lot so he got the bubble to cushion the impact.
  15. Not defending those in charge of building the huge, expensive complex, but I think the parking situation is for safety. I think they have the big concrete area in front of the courthouse so that no one can park close enough to repeat OK City type bombing. I do wish that there was more grass, less pavement, and less light at night.
  16. There's info on the Walmart website and Straight talk website
  17. I'm changing over to Straight Talk service when my contract is up. You can get the phones at Wal-mart, great plan, no contract, they use Verizon's network so you get good coverage. I have family members who have been very pleased with them.
  18. They probably cut the number of inspectors with all of the budget cuts and they just can't keep up. Just a guess.
  19. I give them the benefit of the doubt that its a slip, because I can't promise I wouldn't do the same if I dropped a book on my toe
  20. I wasn't here to see it 2 hours ago If they're spending that kind of money on groceries, they must be buying the healthy organic stuff. Fattening is usually cheaper than the healthy stuff.
  21. What burns my butt: someone asking for help to buy food for the kids or pay the bills, but they have a carton of cigarettes and case of beer while nursing their wound from the new tattoo.
  22. Was that post really necessary? The discussion was about this NOT being a racial issue, and you just pulled race back in to it.
  23. If a student cusses at anyone, I let the parents know and it usually goes to an administrator, too. (as said previously, not every parent cares or does something about it) If they drop a book on their foot and something slips out, or similar circumstance, I give a warning. I hear all sorts of language in the hall, but when its in large groups, and you can't tell exactly who said it, there's not much you can do.
