More cuts will hurt and I don't know where they will come from. I do know we can't cut any more front line people in education. We have 30+ in many classrooms. We are at bare bones with supplies. Was it Polk or Haralson county that went to a 4 day week and saved bundles of money? They even bought laptops for students to use.

I don't care if its the best shrimp on earth that's not the kind of place that I want my money to support. He has a history of putting racist messages on his sign...among other things. I agree there are teachers who excell despite a bad situation and there are those who should not be teaching. You have both extremes in any job. I didn't mean to imply that teachers have no impact on student achievement, I just want people to understand that student achievement is a complex issue. It looks like a simple issue to say get rid of the bad teachers and only keep the good ones, but finding a true measure of who is good and who is not can not be based on one single test. I do not forget how Roy Barnes dumped on teachers, but I wouldn't have voted for him anyway. I WILL NOT

As far as voting, I'm voting NONE OF THE ABOVE I'm voting for the third guy, not because I want him to be elected or think he WILL get elected, but in hopes that we will have the option of a third party in GA. I don't know of anyone who wants to support teachers who don't do their jobs. In ANY job, if someone doesn't do their part, it makes it harder on everyone. The problem with teachers' positions/tenure/pay being based on student achievement is that a teacher is only one factor in student achievement. There are many factors and its not fair to hold the teacher responsible. -teachers don't have control over the home life of the student -teachers can't make students come to school -teachers can't make a student pay attention and learn if they refuse -teachers can't force a student to do t

We only went to N. GA, but it was nice. Ellijay was not crowded, except when we drove past Burt's Farm and in Amicalola Falls. We also went up near Fort Mountain and Carter's lake, but no crowds. Beautiful views on the drive and Carter's lake was almost deserted We stayed in cabin way out on a dirt road outside of Ellijay, right on the river and surrounded by wooded mountains.

Only if I was protesting the killing of armadillos with a certain color armor. I wonder if they are armadillo racists? It would be doubly unfair if one type of armadillo was targeted more than another.

Baby-Jane's buffet across from the old Ingles in Dallas has the best fried chicken around. I don't think you can get a big bucket but you can get 3 pieces on a take-out plate. They do cut the pieces weird, though. I know we're getting a Bojangles in Hiram, but I wish we had a Church's,too. I HAVE to have fried chicken after church on Sunday.

Crock pot chili

I was out that way yesterday and almost rear-ended a car while I was watching the show and driving. I saw some folks in the parking lot of the Big Chicken watching and know some other people who watched from Kennesaw Mountain. Maybe find a fast food restaurant in the general area that has outdoor seating.

You also may want to call ahead to make sure they have tires for your car. I went a couple of weeks ago and they had only one set for my Ford Explorer. The one set was not a brand I wanted. I had to go elsewhere because I needed it done that day. Not saying not to use them or they're not good.
