  1. My battery died today. My car will run if someone jumps it, but as soon as I turn it off...nothing. Who is open on Sundays that can replace a battery or fix more, if needed? Hopefully, just a battery.
  2. I think Westridge Church has one. http://www.westridge.com/getconnected/groups/ Some of these are singles groups for different ages.
  3. My mother told me about this years ago. He and his crew got their stuff together quick and left town just after the accident. No apology or anything. It made a lot of people angry, but she thought they were probably just afraid of what might happen to them in a small town.
  4. Lee Harvey Oswald!!!! Its cold!!! Yelling out serial killer names for cuss words may just catch on. I am guitly of saying might could, even though I don't write it. I also borry things instead of borrowing (oops he's not a serial killer, but close enough. Charles Manson!! I messed up.)
  5. They need the chaferone for the birfday party
  6. I believe the heat/air is turned off or way down after 5:00 unless the school has a special event, then a request has to be sent to central office to have it kept on for that time period. If it is cold, it takes a while for the school to heat up in the morning. My class is too hot and other classes are too cold. I've never been in a school where there wasn't hot and cool spots. I've told my students to carry a jacket/hoodie because when they change classes temps are different. Many times the building is cold in the morning and burning by afternoon.
  7. Sorry if this is a duplicate, but my other one disappeared. Common error: Nauseated/nauseous Correct usage: The garbage was nauseous. Smelling it made me nauseated.
  8. Your not suppose to get flustrated! I agree with the poster who said that there are certain areas where correct spelling is more important (certain school assignments and in business), but on message boards, spelling and grammar is more informal. You may not be taken seriously if your grammar and spelling is terrible, but there should be room for some error. I know I don't always double check before posting. I see texting and chat as more of a spoken language. Spelling and grammar rules are much more informal. I don't speak in complete, grammatically correct sentences when talkin
  9. I have hardwood in most of the house, with tile in kitchen/bath, and replaced the carpet in the family room (highest traffic area) with laminate. With two big dogs, I will NEVER have carpet again...and I hate it because of the cleanliness factor with or without pets. I've not had any problems with the laminate and do not have to worry about being careful with scratches. I have scratches in the hard wood even from moving furniture around to clean. The laminate has been indestructible.
  10. I didn't go until 9 am and missed the craziness. I have no desire to stand in lines or shop where you need cops for crowd control. I caught the tale-end of some Early-bird deals at Eddie Bauer and Belk and knocked out most of my Christmas shopping. After that, I wasn't impressed by the Black Friday deals at most stores. Obviously, you did have to get out early to catch a deal yesterday. Wal-mart and other stores seemed to have very little on sale after that.
  11. Turkey Sandwich and chips. My favorite after Thanksgiving meal. I have a special way that I eat it.
  12. Turkey is soaking, dressing is in the oven, stock for gravy is simmering, pumpkin cake is done. Tomorrow, I just have to cook the turkey, make the gravy, and heat the dressing.
  13. I refuse to listen until after Thanksgiving...maybe not until a couple of weeks before Christmas. I don't like to decorate/celebrate/etc too early or everything seems commonplace and not special at Christmas.
  14. You can also sponsor foster kids for Christmas at DFCS
  15. I think you have to register in advance for Hope for Christmas. You can do it at the Westridge church website or call the church.
  16. Was it to open a bar? I always heard they did it because the county was dry and a city could vote to sell alcohol, so they opened a convenience store to keep from having to drive all the way to Dallas to buy their beer. Maybe I heard wrong, but alcohol was the reason either way.
  17. Skating with Celebrities didn't last but was better than this. My prediction is that this will be the last season, but it could be good if done right.
  18. As far as WWII, even though the extent of Hitler's horrors were not known until later, and not a cause for getting into the war, the bombing of Pearl Harbor was just cause for entering the war. What many people do not know about the Civil War, is that the Emancipation Proclamation only freed slaves in states that had seceeded. Slavery was still legal and existed in the United States until the 13th Amendment of 1965.
  19. Sorry, I don't know and I don't know who might know. I haven't seen him in a long time, but its good to hear he's doing well.
  20. J. Robert Smith is his name
  21. Unless I misunderstood, they are making a joke, and not defending the vandals. Ernest T Bass threw things at people. I think they are saying they are throwing the first stone.
  22. I don't remember his last name, but I think J Robert is his first name, not Jay Roberts
