I've had good and bad experiences there. I went there several times and it was fine. Last time, the guy kept rushing through the test so much that I could not focus, I had to ask him to move the visor over so I could actually see the letters, he kept pushing it to the left, and he kept putting his fingers over the visor during the test. Then, he told me I need bifocals which surprised me. I went to another place to get my glasses and they did a quick check and I DO NOT NEED BIFOCALS!!! I also would not get my glasses there. If you get contacts, it should be fine. I've worn glasses for

I'm guessing that maybe someone out there knows what in the heck this is about.

I don't know the details, but I've heard one middle school was taking time once a week or so to take all of each grade level on the soccer field for "recess" for a while. Two teachers were telling me about it, and said it was a positive thing for everyone. They may have been using it as a privilege for those who earned it.

Pumpkinvine Cemetery...anyone know the location?

I know this is going to sound funny, but rent some goats. Apparently they have people who raise goats who will bring them to your property to help clear it. oops, this is in response to Gardengirl and not the OP. -
I wish I could leave my job at work and not have to work for hours this weekend, and almost every evening even after I've worked late

Is It Appropriate To Wear Any Type Of Clothing To Church?
Mariposa replied to ButterflyLion's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Its okay, the Bible says we are all sinners. We all have fallen short and messed up. The saved are saved sinners, too. I don't think she was trying to offend. I'm sorry you have had such a bad experience with church, but they're not all that way. Unfortunately, its made up of people and we will never be perfect, so don't judge it all by a few. None of us are perfect. -
Ask him if he remembers pretending not to understand the questions of a 16 year old who was on a panel in a debate with Crandall Bray in 1986! They had a debate at a local elem school and the panel was made up of reporters from two local papers and a representative from the high school newspaper--me. The political science teacher wrote questions for me to ask, and they were tough ones. They both said they could not understand me, so I was basically ignored and felt humiliated. Then, I found out that the audience could understand my questions, and I could be understood on the local radi

Attention school employees and parents of Paulding students! Do not make plans for Spring Break, the first week of June, or immediately after school. Attention everyone! Go ahead and buy bread, milk, cereal, snow-melt, and a snow-mobile. (you can put the milk and bread in the freezer) Have you seen the weather forecast?!!!

If you ask some southerners for a sodi, you'll get a beer, not a Coke.

By what logic?!?! None of them would be. I don't think England, Australia, Jamaica, South Africa or other English speaking countries would know most of those same items by the brand we know. What about other countries that do not even speak English? If you are talking univeral, Coke is much more a universal brand than any of those other brands. There is no universal. A coke fits in the definition in the South so it is!!!! Darn it!! Little Debbie Vaseline U-haul

Thank YOU! What I really wish is that the budget cuts didn't do away with our middle school reading teachers. Until this year, our struggling readers had a class every day to focus on it. Now, we catch some in NBI, but its not the same.

All students have a 25 book goal. We remind them frequently and take them to the library. We do read some in class. My students are to read each night for at least 20 minutes, an hour is better. Sent a letter to parents day one. It is posted on my website and I remind my students OFTEN, that even if they don't have a written assignment, they should never tell their parents they don't have homework. I remind parents at every meeting, they should read at home every night. Most do not. I would love to have them read for 30 minutes of class each day, every day, but I don't think my admin

Respectfully, disagree with you also. You are right, you know your child and I don't, and I hope you are right. I am just coming from the perspective of seeing two classes of 6th grade Language Arts students each day, many have shockingly poor spelling to the point that spell check can't help them very much because they are not even close. The words are written phonetically thanks to phonics. I can sound out what they are trying to say and figure it out, but I don't have time to cover the standards and re-teach basic spelling.

Knowing them verbally and writing them are two different things. He needs to see them over and over again, and get the muscle memory practice of writing. If not, he's going to have trouble later when they do not come to him automatically. He will have to think through each word as he does it.

I catch it sometimes, but I have noticed in the last couple of years that Regis seems to be out of it a little. Kelly is always having to explain things. I think its time for him to go, but I do like him.

I don't know where that one is, but there is a state park in Texas where you can walk down a river in dinosaur foot prints. I think its the longest set of dinosaur prints ever found. There are a lot of them there. Dinosaur Valley State Park in Glen Rose, Texas

Not sure about Elem but in middle school in Paulding, they do have sex ed. After CRCT in Science, there is a unit on health, decision making, and sex ed. It is very short and very basic information. The problem I faced with it, is with questions. In middle school, especially 6th you have students who are still like little kids, and you have others that are way too advanced, even sexually active and have access to porn. You have one student who has more knowledge asking about a subject that another student has no idea it even exists. I think they should know about puberty, basics of what

Our society is falling apart because our families are falling apart. Our families are falling apart because we have moved away from our foundation. As our nation moves more and more from Christ and christian values this will continue to happen. To the OP, that is so sad that Avondale Estates has so much crime. I worked part-time at group home for DD adults there in the early 90's and it was such a nice place. I loved walking the lake with azaleas and dogwoods blooming.

I stopped going to Arbor Place about 5 years ago. I liked it for a while because it was so much easier to get to than Town Center, but it started getting very rough (no matter what race you are) and I went back to fighting the traffic. **just noticed the previous post, after I posted mine. Ironic that we both noticed the problem about 5 years ago.

Will have to check this out. If I get one, it should answer the question whether or not my computer is the problem.

I did until my netflix stopped streaming...not sure if its my internet or computer that's the problem. Now its cheap tv and internet.

I think satellite had better service a few years back, but it went way down hill. I've had all three and don't like anyone's service any better than the next. I do like cable best right now for the simple reason that I can get very basic channels for around $10/month and am fine with it. I also don't lose service in storms.
