  1. Just so depended on the child. It was more a very youngish thing. As they got older; taking away privileges; I had one; nothing worked. Another needed almost no discipline. I think I spanked her 2 or 3 times. The one time I remember was opening the door to a stranger before I could get to the door. Some should be tied and taped until the age of 25; others are good to go the whole time. I have one who is 40 and still makes me crazy! I wish I could spank her now!
  2. I am so sorry to hear that also. The tendency does run in families. Sometimes it is not despair that drives people to take their own lives; but being "tired". They are just too tired to continue to fight. Depression can be very overwhelming. It is like everything is under a giant blanket. My brother attempted it once; but fortunatley he texted his goodbye to someone who called an ambulance and they saved him. Again; so sorry for you and her family; prayers going up.
  3. I'm not just eye candy, ya know! I have feelings!
  4. Start googling. 2 years ago, I found a site that shows the audit ratings from government agencies; along with comments. It was VERY good. It isn't free; but I joined for just one month and it was super cheap. Try googling nursing home ratings. This was very helpful to me and I shared it with a friend who was going thru the same thing. You can set it up by state, zipcode, etc.
  5. DD lives in New York City and orders almost all groceries to be delivered. I think the fee is something silly like $5 or $7. Much better than trying to drag it home on the bus or subway. I would sooooooooooo take advantage of this. I hate shopping of any type. I would drive-thru in a hearbeat.
  6. Did you know that Ted Stevens survived a plane crash years ago? His first wife died in that crash. Very sad.
  7. I do not like a heavy fish flavor but enjoy orange roughy and sometimes salmon. Could you share your foil baked or foil grilled recipes? TIA
  8. Good for you! Woo! Hoo! Last week I pulled into a gas station and a lady asked me for money for gas; and I said "no". Still not sure I made the right decision. But good for you. You confronted her! Hope you thinks twice about it next time!!!
  9. I would also like to hear more about this. I tried one website but encounter problems trying to register. Thanks.
  10. My long ago passed Aussie mix chewed the remote, picture frames and the pictures, ate whole decorative candles (he pooped blue and tan), ate socks, ate dryer sheets from my laundry basket right before I was ready to fold it, decorative homemade Christmas dough ornaments off the tree, decorative orange slices next to the fireplace to lend their "scent" as the fire burned, chewed the rungs of the chairs in the dining room, chewed the corners of the kitchen cabinet drawers, etc. Once he got past this stage; was my most loyal and loving friend and protector. He was worth every penny and we st
  11. Well, how amazing is that! Blessings to your family and thanks to God's angel who watched over you.
  12. I have used it for years; tried to go off but it wasn't worth it. My only caution is that I had to start on half doses for a week. When I started with a full dose, I had a few anxiety attacks; but they told me that was rare. After that it was fine. Good move.
  13. Fast/impatient drivers in the right lane! LOL
  14. hush now folks; you be getting silly (from the mushrooms). I was a wedding coordinator for about a year. Wedding called off because groom slept with his bach party stripper two nights before the wedding. Another groom got really cold feet and his friends had to talk him into showing up 2 hours late. My best friend got married and her husband was a fireman. After the wedding, a firetruck showed up and the whole wedding party clung to the side of the truck as it made it's way through town to the reception. Many, many stories but what I always said to the bride and groom - At
  15. Completely agree on the crackers pkg. Geesh! lemme have the crackers, already! I hate hard plastic covered new stuff that you can't extricate from the package without a chain saw. I don't like clerks at the check out who hold conversations with the "packing" person and never acknowledge your existence as a customer. I get very upset at certain big chain grocery stores (a local store in mind, here) that makes me scan my own wine because the person at the register is too young. My reply to that is "you don't pay me enough"! Try getting a DVD out the package! People who thi
  16. For the past two years, I have requested prayers for my brother in PA. Serious accident; in the hospital for 3 months; close to 20 operations. He is doing well though permanently disabled. Well; another brother in PA; hit by a car. I know no details but they are saying he has a very slim chance of making it. We all know what God can do to heal if it is in his will. Please keep us in your prayers.
  17. I did;; then drove to Woodstock and didn't see a drop!
  18. The Argentine ants have multiple queens. I bought the liquid ant stuff from Home Depot that contains arsenic (very cheap but deadly). You put out a drop or two and then you have to sit still and watch them come get it. They will drag it back to the colony; BUT it is still possible for them to return. If they continue to come back - it might take a pest control company. I used to live in a subdivision that was on the Argentine Ant Nirvana - all of us struggled. I could watch them in a trail go through two rooms at one time. And I did not keep food out on the counter. They would just show
  19. Is it just me? Anyone else having a problem?
  20. Dr. Carlson in Kennesaw (Urgent Care?). His number is 678 797 6277
  21. Same area where I live - lots of wind and thunder but just now started some rain. Ran out to save the patio umbrella - AGAIN! Someone is catching Heck right now!
  22. Just started using this place; for convenience sake and I like it very much! They do a great job.
  23. I do that all the time! I usually see faces with hats, etc.
  24. Last year it was a group of churches celebrating the community makeover. I would guess it will be very good and a bit hot.
