  1. Is THIS normal? The thermostat was replaced in january. But I have it set on 71 and the temp is reading 77. Anyone having that problem?
  2. I knew someone who worked with someone who did this; in Ohio. The Dad did not usually do the day care and it was a different routine. I can't imagine.
  3. Sorry to hear that. I am trying to lower food costs without giving up quality. I am not usually one to buy generic. Things I liked from Aldi's were peppers; reg and sweet; non food items; pork chops; wine prices, grape tomatoes, blueberries, I am going to try more. Another store I am using now is Food Depot; bought generic cereal and g-girl loved it. good luck
  4. This system has been broken for YEARS. Many of the case workers are disinterested and always underpaid. THEY do not have the children as a priority. You can't possible have 9 or 10 reports and not take action. How do they sleep at night? To most of them; it is just a job; not a commitment.
  5. I agree on the peppers. I started buying the pack of sweet peppers; so easy to clean and grill or saute with onions and olive oil and salt and pepper.
  6. It is hard to describe how to cut it. Google it. It does not take long. Just be sure to cut out the core portion. Sometimes I don't peel it. I slice it and we eat it like a slice of orange and toss away the outer skin. I will have to try the beef. ty
  7. Aldi's have fresh pineapples for $.99 each. Not quite ripe? Prop it upside down on your counter and it will ripen quickly. Has anyone eaten the beef from Aldi's? Their pork chops are good but have not tried the beef.
  8. I have a list of "help" resources that we worked on in our church. I can either email it to you or you can let me know what your are interested in and I will get the number for you.
  9. Were the peaches good? I like them RIPE and not crisp. Did you get some?
  10. My very favorite is the Dixie Stampede - now THAT is country and incredibly entertaining; a little pricey but worth it.
  11. my friend in Marietta had a Coke 12 pack box in her garage; so far two years in a row; a nest. she just can't throw it away!
  12. LOL, we were so poor when we were little. A farmer gave us a bushel of sugar peas. No big freezer; so we ate sugar peas in any way you can think of.!! To this day; not a fan. A farmer also gave us live chickens. No way is my mom going to pass up on free meat. By the time she broke their necks, scalded them, de-feathered them, etc. you could smell dead chicken all over the neighborhood. I could barely eat them. Sorry - I got off the subject.
  13. It was a beautiful pink here also. I called attention to it for my granddaughter!
  14. I do mostly Kroger (sales) and FD and just started Aldi's. I like the frozen shrimp from Publix and their green tea. Surepip, my hips a really hurting this week (mostly my left). They tell me I am not yet ready for the surgery and I can go for days and feel really great. I also know part of my problem is my weight. Doc told me that for every one pound of flesh, it puts five pounds of pressure on your hips. But anyway, I also like to shop different places. Feel better and good luck with your strike!
  15. Politics; Schmolitics. I am a mom and a grandmother. I have thought about this long and hard. My first reaction was - would my son/grandson be worth 5 terrorists? My heart said yes. But when I learned of the AWOL, I had to re-think this.. I love my children and grandchildren; but not beyond all reason. He made a choice; encouraged by his father. I can only wonder where was a thought about consequences? If this was my family member; I would cry, mourn, and pray. But I can honestly say I would not want other young soldiers to die for his decision. I would not want 5 high-profi
  16. Krystal at Salon rouge, downtown Hiram (at the fountain).
  17. Well, when I was a little girl, grandma had an ant problem. So we would sit at the window and watch them march across the sill. She would make up stories. "Look, honey that one was is carrying a suitcase and the next one has a blue toothbrush across his shoulder. they are going to tell their family that this is not a good place to live. Another is pulling the food wagon. OK, that is not the answer but it sure made me laugh when little
