  1. Are you asking about the junkyard one? I think this is their first year. The last couple of years went to one off of Ridge that I believe the 4-H club hosted. Last year went up to Burnt Hickory area. To be honest at $15 a pop for the junkyard hayride, most folks I have talked to are not that interested
  2. NO CHIT........my legs found it the long way
  3. LR, too late on the design of the building. I truly believe they should have installed a "drive-thru" window, such the water dept and greystone have in place. For those that have the paper work in order, a drive up window would be such a plus on both the tag employees, much less for the elderly and parents that have small children. What a convience that would be!!!! For me, it took longer just to walk in. My entire transaction to get my tags was less then three minutes
  4. Define "left side" of the building? I am not highjacking this thread but after reading several comments about the parking when the Admin Bldg did open, I fell victim to it myself recently. At least where I parked I got a great walk to get to the main entrance on a nice hot sunny day.
  5. Produce section in the grocery store I would assume, that is where I buy my minced garlic but not sure about ginger. I bet Harry's Farmers Market in Marietta has it if you cannot find it locally
  6. Our neighbors in next States want a take???
  7. Why not try and find a local community church or something that is trying to get donations and volunteers to help those in need? Not only a great educational and spiritual thing to help the community, but their efforts and help are much needed. I know many smaller children can't do much, but maybe some teenagers bored and looking for something to do, may be able to contribute and help in one way or another
  8. Not sure about the roads in the north part of the county, but we got hammered here in the south end......big time flooding. Even rescue crews are trying to find passable roads to respond, which are few. Sadly, another storm is brewing here
  9. scanner still active. But I have a stand alone desktop scanner
  10. Glad they closed school for today. By why have 12 month employees report at 10am??? The roads are going to be dangerous. Why not claim it as a furlough day?
  11. I know. We all also need to keep in mind the 911 operators taking the calls, dispatching, and keeping up the communications for all the departments involved
  12. Other than his call sign on the scanner being #1, I have met him and recognize his voice. He is with the boat where they rescued the woman on Friendship Church Rd, and then they headed over to the subdivision off of Bakers Bridge
  13. I agree. They are doing a fantastic job IMO for what they are having to deal with. I am impressed Gary Gullege is out there in the field, feet first (no pun intended) and hands on. That shows true leadership not only to his dept but the community as well. But that goes for ALL of the rescue folks, and even the volunteers that offered boats.
  14. I agree. Another report just came over the scanner about another entrapment in a car in the water
  15. Getting hammered here in Hiram. Reports on the scanner cars floating. A PCSO even broadcasted he was dead in the water......meaning his vehicle
  16. But I bet I know an insurance agent who is going to be very busy tomorrow
  17. This much rain I bet the dip on Nebo Road by McClung will flood
  18. Who wrote down and gave the preacher the info about his life??????
  19. Guess we are never happy, as a couple of years ago being in a drought. Same as most love spring and/or fall time, but will either complain about the cold weather or hot temps
  20. Yep. Many get too doped up. Elvis was an example at one of his last performances
  21. Curious teens. We did not have the tech today of instant messages and/or phones. Most teens will get the motion of being curious. Your lying to yourself if you did not have curious emotions in your early teen years. Either is be high tech pics, or a visit back in the woodshed in the woods. Teens will be curious
  22. I am lucky this year as I had a big $65 decrease in property taxes. Although I know of some others that have increased. Sadly in these bad economic times, gov't and utility folks deem to raise prices due to the shortfall of revenue. With this and the decreased value of homes, I hate to see it, but would imagine a big "walk away" from homeownership. I really think people are going to look at all these increases in maintaining a home VS where it is not worth (on paper) what they owe.
