OUCH! So I guess I'd never convince my hubby that is is cheap on gas, and I NEED it to drive to work?
Awesome car!
Sorry, these are definitely not good on gas. We had a '72 Corvette and it was horrible.

Hey, you don't happen to have any real surfboards up there do you?

I was in the trophy business for 15 years. I have a bunch of stuff left over if you are interested in any of it. Let me know.

I was soooo hoping that he could pull it out!! He gets so close to only have something happen. I feel really bad for him because he has so much pressure that has been put on him due to his dad. Still love him no matter what!

People had posted some great places to stay in the Chattanooga area the other day and I can't find that thread. Can I get some ideas of great places for a couple in their 40's to stay?

I remember this young man playing soccer with my son and he was a wonderful young man. Words cannot express the sadness that I feel for this young man's family. Thank you to the Estopinal's for the sacrifices that they have made for this country. I know that he will be truly missed by his family and his friends. Rest in peace PFC Estopinal and know that you were loved.

I did not know this young man, but my son told me about this incident last night. My heart just broke. Sitting here writing this I am tearing up. I tossed and turned all night thinking about my son and how fragile life is. This young man was taken way too soon and I know that he will be truly missed by his friends and family. To all of you that he was a part of your life, please accept my most heart-felt condolences. He is in God's arms now and is at complete and total peace. I can only hope that the friends and family will find that same type of peace. Know that you are being thought of and prayed for!

I used to work for Richard. He is the kindest, most caring person you would ever want to meet. I know Mrs. Bohannon will be greatly missed. Her children and grandchildren loved her so much. My prayers are with the whole family.

Is this a football game already? School does not start until Monday.... this is a preseason game? When did the schools start this?
Back in the old days (the mid 70's) when I was in high school, the Friday before school started was always the first football game. It kinda got everybody pumped up for the school year.

I use either chocolate or vanilla ice cream, little bit of milk, little bit of sugar and a little bit of vanilla flavoring. My son loves them!!

YUMMY! Where is it located?

You must have been hungry. I really hate raisins!! I am slow cooking a roast drenched in BBQ sauce and I will have BBQ sandwiches and fries.

I also started back to school at Chattahoochee Tech back in January after 28 years of being out of school. It has been a great experience. A good website for books is textbooks.com. If you will pm me after you find out what you need, I can check and see if I have the books that you need. I will sell you what I have if they will work for you.

Sorry to hear that you lost your job. Lost mine in September. The max is $330 a week. If you can afford to have the taxes taken out, it really would help in the long run. Especially if, heaven forbid, it takes a while for you to find a job. In that case, you might not have the money to pay the taxes come next tax season. I have mine taken out and with the "raise" I now get $297 per week. Not great, but it is better than nothing. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

We bought our son a 1985 Silverado 4 x 4 when he turned 16. He was a good kid, good student so we paid for everything. He is now in college and we bought him a 2003 4 x 4 diesel truck. He pays for 1/2 of the payment and we no longer put gas in the other truck for him. As long as he is in school we will help him with this. If he is not in school then he will be paying for everthing for both vehicles. He is a good kid, so we don't mind.

I was layed off about 2 1/2 months ago. I had been there for 4 1/2 years. It sucks!! I have so much experience accounting and secretarial, but I can't seem to catch a break! I just found out that I was not picked to interview for 2 more jobs that I have applied for and I am not applying for things that I am not qualified to do. I am 46 years old and just wonder if that is the problem. I am a great worker, but I guess right now that doesn't matter. Many of my tears have been spilled over this situation, but I try to remember that God is on my side no matter what. Maybe after the first of the year things may get a little better.

Usually me, my Mom and sisters go. I have no job this year. Not going to be much of a Christmas.

Herniated one, and ruputured another one.
Back in the mid 1990s.
My orthopaedic [now retired] sent me to the Pain Center at Northside for the epidurals with a corisone drip. Warned me it only works in about half the patients, and only a forth of so of them get permanent relief, but I tried it anyway.
1st one seemed to do nothing but it did not hurt at all having it done. 2nd one hurt a little, but not near as bad as I was hurting anyway [i had lost most of the feeling in my right leg and could not drive as a result], and again it did not seem to do much.
3rd one hurt like hell, and I fussed and the technician, who explained it just seemed to hurt more getting the needle inserted as I was doing better, and the next morning I started getting feeling back in my leg.
4th one hurt worse than the 3rd one, but in 24 hours I got all the feeling back in my leg. I beleive 4 was all they would allow you back then, about 10 days apart. I have not had any trouble with the disks since then. My L4, L5, and L6 [i think] are all basically fused now. 2 of them were from the 1970s.
Note that I have taken high doses [800 to 3200mg per day] of Ibuprofen since 1974 when it was first released as an anti-inflamatory in the US. The orthopaedics [i have buried 2 and retired the last one I went to] say I am fortunate the Ibuprofen does not irritate my gut but that it also has caused my joints to drastically improve over the years since I first started taking it. Yes, I get my liver levels checked twice a year because I take such high doses and it has never been a problem other than remembering to get the blood work done now that Ibuprofen is available over the counter.
Good luck.
If you do go to a back cracker, you need to let your orthopaedic know as their treatment plans can conflict with each other.

Hey NYGal. I have a herniated disk in my back and I have had 2 epidurals. The first one was good and the second one really did not do much good, but I must say, I feel better than before I had the first one. How long was your husband down after his surgery and did he have to stay there? That will probably be my next step. I just got out of the hospital from bladder surgery and am definitely not looking forward to being in the hospital again.

I do not have time to watch this entire video. Is there somewhere that you can just see the maps of what they "are going to do with the money"?
