Yard sales, they freak me out...
rednekkhikkchikk replied to NumberCruncher's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Yeah I wouldn't. I inadvertently picked up one of those made to cover nicks on furniture to mark some boxes at work Saturday and after using it for just a couple minutes I had a headache. -

I also have a few baby items that my niece was going to give to Goodwill that are brand new, still in the package if anyone has or is expecting a baby girl and would like to have let me know & they're yours. -

Speaking of giving, there is a notice in this week's paper of a lady & her son who lost everything in a house fire for anyone who has clothing or household items they could donate. I don't know if it's ok to post the lady's name & number here but will gladly give it to anyone who would like to call her to find out what size clothing or other items are needed...and if anyone can tell me it's ok to do so I will post the info here. -

Antonio Santiago possibly killed for insurance?
rednekkhikkchikk replied to barrycdog's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Clark Howard is a menace. Children die every day - which is better, a life insurance policy with sufficient coverage to pay for a funeral/burial or an account at <insert bank name here> for those wishing to donate money to pay for the funeral? Life insurance for healthy children is very affordable and can often be renewed into adulthood. Wait til you're in your 30s or 40s to buy it, especially if you have any kind of health issues, and you'll wish your parents had bought a Gerber Life Insurance policy for you when you were born, too... -

So sorry to hear of Ken's passing. Rest in Peace -
My grandparents were born late 1800s & early 1900s -they built their own house, raised their own food & made do with what they had, also. I remember when the kids all chipped in to get my granny her first electric sewing machine, and I vaguely remember her using a wringer washer but I was very young. I can't think of anything they couldn't do, and with whatever was on hand at that.

Has anyone ever had this problem with a black stove?/

I'll just continue to be thankful my low-end, almond-colored electric range still works great after 25 years... -
Holder seeks to avert mandatory minimum sentences
rednekkhikkchikk replied to LPPT's topic in RECENT TOPICS
This is for federal cases only, btw, and won't affect most routine drug arrests in the state...which is where you see people going in for short periods of time and right back out on parole or probation, only to be locked up again a short while later. -

If they stop you and subsequently find drugs, you better bet they'll come up with a reason for stopping you by the time you go to court. Since law enforcement agencies and the government in general have gotten so used to living off asset forfeiture/seizure it's in their best interest to circumvent whatever constitutional rights we used to have in whatever way possible. Like some of us said 10+ years ago, let them violate one, they'll violate them all. We basically don't have the protections we did prior to 2001. -

How many of you have been approached by an actual drug dealer offering to get you high? The source of most first-time drug use is friends/acquaintances who use...dealers do not create addicts, addicts seek out dealers from whom to obtain their drug of choice after they are already using. As with anything else, the problem is not so much a lack of information as it is failure to apply logic and reason to the information a person already has... -

1-They are not going to stop enforcing the law. They are trying to find a way to prevent low-level offenders from getting caught up in mandatory sentencing laws. These laws were implemented in an attempt to coerce small-time dealers into giving up their suppliers as it was the ONLY way to get a reduced sentence. 2-You do know how much incarceration costs the taxpayers, right? The prison industry is a multi-billion dollar industry and is probably no less rife with corruption and waste than defense. The longer a person is housed, the more we pay. 3-As for legalization failing to put -

All the safe driving habits in the world don't change the huge disparity between any one person's odds of being killed in an auto accident versus being directly physically harmed (much less killed) in a terrorist attack...

New Rules regarding Personal attacks in signatures

I forgot to add that I don't like egg yolk unless it's hard boiled. Can't stand to see my husband eat an egg with a runny yolk - sopping it up with toast. BARF! My eggs have to be scrambled or hard boiled or I can't get them down. Me too (either?). Just as bad as runny yolks are fried with the yolk half-done that look like nasty egg jelly. Not no, but HELL no... I wouldn't eat anything that comes from the Pacific Ocean now, either. I don't have an aversion to steak, pork chops, etc if offered by someone else but I don't generally buy meat at the grocery store to cook & eat

Had this problem earlier in the summer after several storms with torrential rains on consecutive days. Started washing smaller loads of laundry & haven't had any more issues so far. I have decided the recent years of drought we have suffered pale in comparison to the issues we've seen this year caused by so much rainfall.

Good grief, do you ever have anything pleasant and/or unrelated to politics to add? -
I'm going to assume I understand what you are saying and I have to say this is my reaction as well... The odds of being involved in a fatal auto accident are much, much greater than being killed in a terrorist attack yet I'll bet the OP didn't think twice about making the trip to/from Stone Mountain.

You can ask them to verify the data used to calculate the estimated replacement cost of the home & make any necessary corrections. The cost to re-build a home is generally higher than the appraised (market) value and usually includes costs such as debris removal in addition to materials & labor. If the limit of coverage is not at least 80% of the estimated replacement cost of the home, co-insurance applies which would result in your paying a percentage of any loss yourself (this is over and above your policy deductible). The majority of companies will not insure a home for less

Yorkville was as bad (or worse) til they added the entrance off Golden South Pkwy-esp after they blocked the gore & made it impossible to make the left from/onto Goldmine. At least the store on 61 leaves it up to the driver whether or not it's worth risking a ticket to make a left to get into/out of the parking lot.
