  1. Living in close proximity to aggressive dogs wouldn't make you liable for them or injuries they inflict so what's the basis for this discount? I'm pretty sure that's one of the many feel-good sales gimmicks insurance companies advertise these days under the guise of saving you money. It might help to buy your own policy, although a landlord still must adhere to his own company's guidelines which could be an obstacle. We have a company that only prohibits animals that have caused injury or shown aggression in the past, if you do decide to get a policy of your own...
  2. Recently I was reading the paper (actually was a couple days old, was catching up after a busy week) and saw an article about a dog attack somewhere in the Metro area, two dogs attacked a parent & child walking in a neighborhood. Absolutely no mention whatsoever of breed or size, so I assume they weren't pits or any other of the often unfairly maligned aggressive breeds...
  3. Oh wow I had forgotten all about your 'wonderful' experience there. Yeah, tell em to call him...lol. If you start getting crank calls, don't blame me...
  4. That's what I told them, and that they probably didn't even know anyone who was abused because abused children don't talk about it casually the way kids talk about other stuff. I know very well what abuse is, and these two are about as far removed from abuse as two kids could be. That was kind of my point...
  5. Maybe they don't expect her to live beyond the 30th and wanted to be sure she saw their 'tribute' to her....
  6. When they were around 8 & 11 years of age, my niece & nephew were adamant that they were abused because they were yelled at by their step/dad (his dad, her stepdad). I assured them they had no idea what abuse even is...or for that matter, what it is to do without something you want, much less need. They're both adults now and while they are still both happy, healthy and have all they need and then some, I think they finally understand how mistaken they were...
  7. I'm just gonna go ahead and say that in my opinion, politicians nationwide are just creepy in general. They are either crooks, liars, perverts or slackers who can't get a job anywhere else.
  8. One paragraph later: I am totally against US involvement in Syria, but I'm more against politicians with this^^ mindset. What he carefully weighed before reaching a decision appears to be his chances for re-election... Ugh.
  9. I think they also help keep the bad snakes away, don't they? Or is that just king snakes? Most people eventually find a snakeskin under their house or in their basement. The really long ones are usually rat snakes. While you shouldn't mess with them cause they can still bite, they're not venomous and don't want anything more to do with you than you do them...I sure wouldn't go looking for it if it wasn't already out in the open.
  10. Rather odd, being that he is one himself, isn't it?
  11. You know, I am almost sure that there were plenty who were criticizing Obama for not striking right away when it was a relative certainty that chemical weapons had been used...because when I heard that I began to seriously hope we wouldn't be rushed into another war just for the sake of people who have not been and won't be happy with him no matter what action he takes/does not take.
  12. While I don't disagree with your opinion myself, I do think whether it's ok or not should be left to each individual young woman to decide.
  13. Exactly what I was thinking...based on some past reading I've done that described nasty food products sold in China, the thought of actually eating food processed there is almost too much.
  14. Yeah I could get behind a dollar or two an hour raise or maybe full time status/hours at current pay with some benefits but $15/hour? Um, my base salary (not including commissions) breaks down to slightly over $18/hr and I am a licensed professional with 25+ years experience!
  15. Yeah I live near the Coots Lake trailhead and other than people I met while walking there I never see anyone I know...or when you see her coming just wander off to the side to 'look' at something interesting til she passes by. Gotta vote no on the snakes. Rather just not see those at all...
  16. I'm behind the curve lately so excuse/delete if this has already been posted - Link to Dog Food Recall Info Just wanted to pass along...
  17. There is a whole thread about this^^ somewhere. Ralph Hudgens is a typical good ol' boy Georgia politician whose sole focus is re-election. I seriously doubt he is even qualified for the job, but I am certain he is no better and is likely probably much worse than his predecessor. He clearly stated in a recent newspaper article that he was looking out for consumers in Georgia because he wll be 'up for re-election soon & didn't want voters to be mad at him. So basically, he cares about votes, not consumers. And he clearly doesn't mind saying so. Why so many Georgia voters are so p
  18. I've thought many times its no wonder kids don't do well in school. They may as well spend their days in prison...
  19. The fact that nobody knows what's in it should tell you all you need to know about those jacking up prices, ceasing to take new patients, getting out of the medical profession altogether or excluding coverage "because of Obamacare" And if this law will have such far-reaching and negative effects why is the medical field the fastest growing segment of the economy? Someone expects to make money as a result of Obamacare... Interestingly enough, for once we were not forced into a different plan this year in order to prevent a large increase in premium as has been the case in years past...
  20. Why does anyone besides the person who was snubbed even care? (Assuming he does care, which he may very well not...) Don't we have enough real problems and issues that need to be addressed already? And no, I did not view whatever is linked in the OP.
  21. House for rent Don't know what area they prefer but this was posted here a day or two ago...
  22. From the same Snopes link: The coloration is not intentional, but instead a result of the manufacturing process - for example, pink meth due to the red dye in Sudafed tablets or other generic forms of pseudoephedrine... And perhaps the most relevant quote of all, also from Snopes:
  23. Tianna was a sweet, outgoing and beautiful young lady and I was truly sorry to learn of her passing.
  24. Ugh! Didn't he tell her at one time if she were older he would like to date her? Didn't think it possible but that makes him even more creepy & perverted.
