  1. Yeah I read some articles a couple years ago about stuff found in food products in China & it still just about makes me gag to think about it. Not no, but HELL no. Why it would be considered safe to import chicken for human consumption when so many dogs have been sickened or even killed by CHICKEN jerky treats from China is beyond me... Well how is it better or more efficient to send chicken to China for processing & then import it back into the country? Sounds like someone did their brainstorming over drinks...on a 3 day binge.
  2. GOOD Long overdue if you ask me. He is unethical at best - although I personally believe he is a straight up thief, and an arrogant one at that. There are a number of others from both parties just like him who need to be run out of the legislature along with him... Yeah well feelip if that were truly the case he would have been gone long ago, and Nathan Deal would never have even been elected...well, I don't know about that last, he's about as Republican as Sonny Purdue. (He was for the Democrats before he was against 'em, in other words)
  3. Yes, and while foster and adoptive parents and their homes must meet strict guidelines for safety and cleanliness, and jump through whatever hoops it takes to comply with whatever is asked of them including accomodating visits with the parents & other biological family, the birth parents only have to meet a "minimum" standard. I can't emphasize strongly enough the part about MINIMUM...
  4. The really heartbreaking aspect of it to me is that she starved to death in a home with plenty of food and slept in a room with only a bed and reeking of urine while the rest of the family appears to have lived comfortably and had plenty to eat. Makes me want to cry. And throw up. If they want to see some changes at DFCS, they should charge those directly responsible for the child's welfare as accessories to the crime in cases like this.
  5. Pretty sure that decision will come back to haunt them -
  6. Yeah considering neither party is worth two sticks in a bucket I kinda doubt that...
  7. Was it printed on thermal paper? I want to say the guy I mentioned received something like a store receipt on thermal paper that wasn't legible within a few days - which was the reason he had to call for the date...
  8. Yeah this happened to a friend of mine a while back, maybe last year, and I'm pretty sure it was Hiram traffic court. Your son was lucky - this guy learned of the error when he was arrested for failure to appear.
  9. Not to mention the potential for injuries & damage to others in the immediate area. At the very least he is guilty of reckless endangerment. Striking a lighter while pumping gas is in NO WAY an accident, regardless of any underlying intent on his part. Sadly, it appears brain atrophy is occurring in direct proportion to the extent to which we rely on machines in our daily lives. Everybody says well what can you do? You can start thinking and doing for yourself, that's what...even though there is power in numbers we all act as if we must be resigned to whatever the world foists
  10. Cats breed like rabbits when left outdoors - I am not exaggerating. Please encourage her to have them spayed/neutered. The office park where I work is crawling with feral kittens who just continue to reproduce. A couple/few cats can quickly become half-dozen or more...at which point they become a nuisance. Or in certain places, dinner for coyotes. I can't think of a single place that is in need of another stray/homeless cat or dog...
  11. Love my 02 F150 4.6 V8. Bought it used in 04 & put 175,000 of the 200,000 miles on it - it looks like hell but in that time it's needed few repairs, none of them overly expensive (replaced a couple coil packs & an alternator) and still drives like a new one. No complaints here.
  12. That guy made it look so easy to paint! So talented. I reported the post. Maybe they will move it now...
  13. Navy News Article Rest of the very short news release is at the above link...
  14. I thought there was a law enacted to put a stop to this type activity?
  15. At the very least he was smart enough not to want to be involved in her crime/s, to the benefit of the people on her mail route and anyone who has sent them mail, as well. It's unfortunate for his marriage but good on him for doing the right thing.
  16. My sister is more like my mother as we get older. I am more like my paternal grandmother - and in some ways my dad, I think (much to my mother's dismay).
  17. It cracks me up when people who frequent text-based message boards complain about having to read more than a sentence or two.
  18. I'm the same - my dogs stay inside much of the time, but if they start to bark when they're outside I just bring them back in.
  19. Just goes to prove the private sector isn't necessarily the better choice in some instances...and the imprisonment/incarceration of humans should not be one of, if not the biggest industry in this or any other state.
  20. I have a child buried in the cemetery at White Oak Church and have been there at various times of the day and evening alone without incident over the years. Then several years ago a friend and I stopped at the old cemetery around noon on a Saturday after leaving the cemetery in the church yard and just walked around a bit looking at the graves nearest the road. It was really unnerving, and there is NO WAY I would go out there near or after dark. NO WAY. For that matter, I doubt now that I'll ever go back to the cemetery at the church by myself except during straight-up da
