  1. I think I have a couple games, need to make sure that's the console they're for but I believe it is...
  2. After my ex moved out, he refused to forward or change his mailing address. When he received some notices from the IRS, I took them to the post office & told them he wasn't at that address any longer. They told me to just throw them in the trash, because that's what they would do with it! I always assumed there were regulations or laws in place that prohibited them from just tossing someone's mail...it's not like they can't return it to the IRS as undeliverable.
  3. Those GEICO ads have puzzled me since the first one played. They're not just unfunny, they're plain out nonsensical. The one that really gets me, though, is the Allstate one that starts off with the assertion that the lowest price may not provide adequate coverage (which is true); what kills me is that they end by telling how many hundreds they can save over XYZ Insurance Company. So low prices matter, except when they don't? It's blatant doublespeak.
  4. Unfortunately the number of people who share your apathy doesn't bode well at all for those of us who are concerned about corporate and governmental invasions of our privacy and stockpiling of our personal information free for the taking by anyone who possesses the skill to break into a database... The internet is basically a big crowded parking lot littered with half credible information, rumor mill gossip and outright untruths, passed along ad nauseum.
  5. Wow, that is a lot of personal detail to post on a public message board...
  6. Hello? Take a good hard look at EVERYONE in office and then ask yourself why you expect anything different or better from a bunch of lawyers, millionaires who have less than a clue about life in the real world and career politicians. This is where fear of voting third party candidates and even skipping a race altogether to avoid fostering the whole "I have a mandate" mentality has brought us.
  7. It seems strange to me that someone in his 90s wouldn't be covered by Medicare?
  8. The two most dangerous words a person can rely on in making a decision of any consequence are THEY CAN'T. Maybe they can't use it against you/charge you more based on _________ today, but things change all the time. I would rather not know than to take such a chance, myself.
  9. Such a sweet lady. I know she will be missed...
  10. Hmmm. Someone else said basically the same thing to me about this person yesterday when we were talking about a thread on here - well, without the psych eval, but still...
  11. You looking for a regular bicycle or stationary bike?
  12. Who knew the internet would basically turn everyone into a PMSing b1tch?
  13. I know a girl who lost her job after this happened to her...
  14. I can only speak for myself but I turned signatures off awhile ago...
  15. Odd. I personally know the owners of two storage facilities here and both of them live in private homes with their families. Not aware of managers staying on premises, either but I guess that doesn't make it untrue. Just strange. In an emergency I might stay at our office for one night, but beyond that I'd want to be in a home with a full bath & kitchen.
  16. That^^^ Unless the government has some 'private' money of its own to use in those ventures, of course. There is too little transparency, too few ethics and too much corruption in government already...regardless their intentions, they are public 'servants' (for lack of a better term) and as such are accountable to the taxpayers FIRST.
  17. So how is that ^^ not considered a protective effect? If it kills pre-cancerous cells, what else would you call it?
  18. Yeah, and then let him lock you out of YOUR house.
  19. They shoulda called the store's bluff...like the loss of a Walmart store is gonna hurt. I don't ever get out of WalMart any cheaper than I do other stores. Just have to do a little planning in advance and take the time to really look at what you pick up.
  20. When wild animals can read maps I'll believe there are certain places they may not populate. As it is, if they're physically able and on the move, they're subject to turn up anywhere. And then there are the fools who keep a wild/dangerous animal as a pet and then turn it loose when it becomes too much for them to handle. You can bet they're not gonna set it free in the immediate vicinity of their own home...
  21. Oh man those are the best pecans! The halves really are perfect, and well worth the price...
  22. I make my dog's treats. Always. And for the reasons listed in this thread, I eat very little meat.
  23. I'm pretty sure that's not a valid reason, as CASA volunteers don't hand down sentences...
  24. Wouldn't worry about viruses. The radiation will take care of those...
