Anyone buying tire chains this year?
rednekkhikkchikk replied to Shallow Hal's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Not much point since people without tire chains will stay home anyway. Besides, that's kind of what being from the south is all about, anyway - the novelty of snow & ice and an occasional unscheduled day off work. -
If by Sara Babb you are referring to the park, isn't that considered Dallas? It's pretty close to the city limits, even.

One more reason I'm glad I don't fly - don't matter to me where the airports are located. Or are not located, as the case may be. I am curious as to why the airport is being used as a makeshift drive-in/theater, though...

Maybe you didn't care for the phrasing he used but the fact remains, either the nurse didn't communicate that vital information to the other medical personnel treating him, or they didn't pay close enough attention. Bottom line, they dropped the ball. The only 'turn off' I've found on this site is the sour grapes attitude along the lines of what you've expressed right there^^^ It's childish and whiny. Why adults can't pass by the comments they don't care for without constantly bitching about every little thing is something I just don't understand at all.

What exactly were these health standards and how were they enforced ? And in which century?

The simplest and possibly most effective way to prevent the spread of the disease here would have been to isolate the family members of this man and anyone else who had been in similarly close contact for the required period of time to ensure they don't have the disease. Period. Impractical and inconvenient for those people? Of course. But still better than an outbreak. I don't know about other people, but I don't necessarily realize if my temperature is only slightly elevated. If that's the case generally, then complete isolation for at least the entire family would be warranted. I

Can I rent a hayride? for grandkids and close friends?
rednekkhikkchikk replied to MissSophie's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Yeah I would find someone who does this as part of an event and has the proper insurance coverage, for one thing. Never use your vehicle to carry passengers for a fee or for hire, ESPECIALLY a vehicle owned by you personally and insured as such. -
Interesting how little anyone seems to care about this matter. Maybe it's just easier for those who vote strictly for the ( R ) on the ballot to ignore the whole stinking mess. Meantime, Deal pays $3,350 while taxpayers get stuck with a bill exceeding $3 million arising from his more or less successful attempt to quash the ethics complaint against him and gain control of the commission charged with oversight of campaign finance and lobbyist expenditures in this state. Heck, an informed voter who casts a ballot for party instead of candidate despite what they know is as bad, if no

Madison County HS Draws Ire of Atheist Groups
rednekkhikkchikk replied to Foxmeister's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Right. It's not like time is needed to actually educate the kids. And it's not arrogant at all for you to make such an (incorrect) assumption... -
They are for the most part, politicians and associates of politicians. It is impossible to believe they would go about this the way they did without any self-interest or agenda. Again, they are politicians. That is what politicians do...

You just THINK the dog is barking at nothing - now get up and wander around at night. -
So rioting is bad unless you feel it's warranted? Not really sure what you were aiming for here...

I realize it would louse up your blame game to acknowledge this fact, but the whole system is corrupt and neither of the groups currently in control are immune (or worth a chit for that matter). But since the stupid finger-pointing from both sides has done so much to solve the problem, I'll let ya get back to it.

Rental Car Insurance: To buy or not to buy?
rednekkhikkchikk replied to Whitney's topic in RECENT TOPICS
A rental company will also likely look to the customer for compensation for the period of time they are unable to rent the vehicle due to an accident as well as any loss of value suffered as a result of same. It is best to contact your agent, or if you do not have an agent, the carrier's customer service department to determine what your policy will and will not cover before declining coverage offered by the rental car company and taking possession of the auto. -
For the 25 years I have lived in Braswell, they have been periodically logging various areas, including acreage at Blue Car Body Rd and the property where the Paulding Forest sign is located in the city limits. I know some of the property was/is owned by the Jones family, but I am pretty sure some of it is in the Paulding Forest as well, although I am only basing this on what I have seen over the years. Also, I thought it was specified when the county bought the greenspace acreage that the timber there could/would be sold. All of this is to say that this may not even necessarily be

Not exactly the same thing but in my late teens I lost a substantial amount of weight basically by eating as little as possible for as long as I could keep it up & then eating normally (which was a fairly poor diet of sweets, salty snacks, bread and a lot of fried foods-typical teenager junk food and fast food) It isn't a very good weight loss strategy. Better is to permanently adjust your eating habits & calorfie intake and incorporate some exercise - much easier to maintain weight loss with a lifestyle change rather than constant (or intermittent) hunger. Losing weight without

I think I would get a piece of glass or plexiglass cut as close to the shape as possible to lay over the top and let that be it. I wouldn't be willing to chance ruining an otherwise beautiful piece by trying to remove the finish. But that's me, and I've ruined a thing or two in my time trying to re-work a minor issue I could easily have lived with....

Being that I live directly across from hundreds of acres of WMA in a small 'city' that the majority of non-local people have never heard of & don't realize exists, that's comforting to know. Not.

Are we accurately measuring threats?
rednekkhikkchikk replied to dumbestgirlintheworld's topic in RECENT TOPICS
That's simply the outlook of people who spend more time making assumptions about others than actually paying attention to what they say/do. In other words, their preconceived notions rule their thought process making them blind to any other possibility. -

Are you all so obsessed with Obama that you have to find a way to mention him in EVERY SINGLE THREAD regardless how off-topic you have to go? Because it makes you look as if you are. It really does. -
Didn't work for Bush two months in, either.

What will tomorrow bring? 9/11
rednekkhikkchikk replied to dumbestgirlintheworld's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Seems to me there is as much, if not more scientific knowledge (not to mention principles of engineering and plain old logic) supporting the questions asked about the events of 9/11/01 as for the 'official' version. Which 'scientific answers' do you think have been rejected out of hand? What do you make of the rather large group of scientists, engineers and other experts, military and intelligence personnel, law enforcement officers and others in the public safety sector and even eyewitnesses who, based on their own knowledge & experience, are convinced that the official story is at b
