Indiana to pass law that could allow discrimination against gays
rednekkhikkchikk replied to Brian's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Pretty sure it's not intended to force a business to add offerings it didn't previously serve...sheesh people, these examples are so bad it's almost embarrassing. -

I am pretty sure backlash because of the man's own hypocritical comments are the reason he has had to close his doors. But let's just gloss over that detail, shall we? (Since his remarks about divorce - including his own - appear to have been deliberately omitted here) Again, anyone with enough sense to run a successful business should be able to find a way to dispatch with customers they don't want to serve in a way that doesn't damage their public image or appear discriminatory. At the very LEAST they should be intelligent enough to think before they speak publically about something so -
CHRISTIANS TARGETED AND KILLED IN KENYA

So this violence against Christians is something that has just begun to happen since Obama took office? Aren't they all? -
Indiana to pass law that could allow discrimination against gays

In whatever alternate reality (or closet) that pastor lives, maybe - but this example is akin to the one about the pastor of Westboro Church in another thread...so unlikely to happen (at least in Georgia) that it borders on ridiculous. -

And there are 'militant' assholes and bigots who can't let them live peacefully and be themselves. You might be a militant 'something' too, if you had to defend your very being in order to just go about your day. In fact, your own comment about shopping at Greenbriar and West End is a perfect example of how many people have to live every day of their lives. At least you had the option of shopping somewhere else... -

GA House says cities can ban plastic bags
rednekkhikkchikk replied to Brian's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Thank goodness the legislature has put this important issue among the concerns it has chosen to address this session! Not sure I could sleep at night if I had to worry that a local government might institute a ban on plastic grocery bags...at least they have their priorities in order down at the Capitol. -
Heinz-Kraft merge to form 5th-largest food company
rednekkhikkchikk replied to Brian's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Well, not necessarily fewer choices of food items for us per se, but where it all comes from and what we have to pay, yeah. I imagine packages will continue to shrink while prices stay the same or increase and quality will become less a concern because where else are we gonna get food, you know? Yay globalism. And the government-corporate partnership... "This cannot bode well for consumers" -Debbie Downer -

Public banks focus on local growth; spurn Wall Street
rednekkhikkchikk replied to gpatt0n's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Yeah, it's pretty nauseating to consider the obscene amounts of money paid to the CEOs of banks that had to be propped up by we the people...couldn't watch the video at the moment, will come back to it later. Seems to me we are headed backward in that our choices (banks, insurance, etc) are fewer and fewer as these huge institutions keep buying up the smaller regional and local entities...not conducive at all to a free market. Ah the consequences of leaving control with the same two groups of politicians for decades... -

Yeah, most probably have some basis in fact but have been blown out of proportion or embellished to the point that its impossible to distinguish between fact and fantasy. Unfortunately, this: A group of Wall Street elitists caused the financial meltdown, and have the power to manipulate the stock market and the prices of oil, and precious metals. has proven to be true, for the most part. -
Pretty sure my step dad said a swan showed up at their lake for a brief period last year...and they definitely have a crane that comes and goes, that one I've seen on many occasions.

Yeah, fireworks. Yee-haw. It's not like Georgia has any other pressing issues screaming for the attention of the state's 'leadership'.

Selma woman strikes back at those who wear pants around knees

You would be a Democrat today had the party not moved left. Why would stating that fact make him an arrogant asshole? Are you all so wrapped up in labels and stereotypes that the meaning and background of the actual words you use no longer matter to you? -
Why would you have this person working for you?

I don't know anything about the ownership of the store referenced in the original post as it is on the complete opposite side of the county from me, but it was not difficult at all to ascertain from the context of her comments that she was referring to businesses owned by large corporations and not an independently owned small business. What one has to do with the other is beyond me, but your ridicule is misplaced here. -
I think the flea market/thrift store has tried & failed a couple different times over the years up there...

Remember the Texas nurse and her dog hit by Ebola?
rednekkhikkchikk replied to Brian's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Right, it's not like most of us didn't know what she claims she wasn't told simply from using Google. Did she also avoid tv, radio and newspapers from the first report of the outbreak til she was assigned to the guy's care? Two people had already been treated in this country and it was all over the news and the internet. Including the fact that the plane was even specially outfitted to keep them completely quarantined during the flight. That would be when I would have begun getting as much information as I could on my own, regardless what my employer might or might not provide, if I were -
Yep, Millican would be my choice too.
